CHAPTER 58: DANGEROUS MAN GOES TO PRISON

That morning the prisoners were exercising again in the field as usual. They lined up and performed the movements instructed by the wardens.

Caelum, the chief, stood watching the morning’s activities and his eyes fell on Selene as she performed her exercise moves. His eyes were not the lascivious gaze of a man watching a beautiful woman exercising.

Rather, it was a gaze that implied a desire to be with her and continue to be with her leaving that place. His determination to take her away from that prison was still so strong.

Especially after they had easily said their wedding vows a few days ago, making Caelum feel that it was the beginning of everything.

’She is mine. Even if it was a sudden vows, she is already my wife,’ he thought.

Without realizing it, he had become completely obsessed with her and had no intention of letting her go.

Selene, who was exercising, turned to Caelum knowing he was watching her. She naughtily teased him with a wink and then refocused on the instructor in front of them.

In the middle of their workout, one of the warden guards who always stood guard at the front gate of the prison came over and approached Caelum.

It seemed that the guard whispered something into his ear which he answered briefly.

Not long after, the door to the field of the prison building opened again and in came two wardens carrying a handsome man who appeared to be a newly arrived prisoner.

Everyone’s eyes were immediately drawn to him. The new prisoner was ordered to get into line and participate in the exercise like everyone else.

"Follow what the instructor does. You can take off half your clothes like the other male prisoners," said the warden who brought him.

"Okay." He partially lowered the zipper of his clothes then let the upper part of his uniform fall down.

It revealed his muscular body and had a sizable dragon tattoo on his back.

"Wow..." The female prisoners immediately felt amazed when they saw those muscles. Moreover, his handsome face was different from the other male prisoners.

Caelum’s eyes caught sight of the female prisoners who turned their heads in curiosity to see the new prisoner. His eyes immediately fell on Selene who was also curious, making him feel a little annoyed when he found out.

To be more precise, he felt jealous that his ’wife’ was looking at another man who was clearly in front of him at the moment and watching him.

How could she look at another man when her ’husband’ was there?

"Ekhem, continue with your morning exercises! No distractions or you’ll have to run 10 laps on this field if you’re not focused!" he said loudly and sharply.

The women immediately refocused on the front. They didn’t want to have to run ten laps on a field almost as big as a football field in a stadium.

Now it was Selene who glanced at Caelum, looking at the Chief Warden until their eyes met.

There was a sharp look of jealousy on his face. Selene smiled slyly as if she enjoyed it.

After the morning exercise was over, they continued with the prison chores.

"Did you see that man? He’s very handsome. His body looks good too, let alone that look in his eyes," said one of the female prisoners talking to the others while they were cleaning up the dried leaves.

"Yes, I see. He really is very handsome! I wonder what his name is. But judging from that tattoo on his back, it looks like he’s not an ordinary guy," her friend replied.

They were sure that the new prisoner was from a dangerous group. The tattoo on his back must also be a sign of his involvement with a certain group.

"It could be a dangerous mafia group? I’ve rarely heard of mafia groups in Zondalian. Could he be from somewhere else?"

Her friend shook her head. "Which country would dare to deal with the mafia other than Zondalian? Zondalian has a strict legal system, unlike other countries."

They continued to talk in the middle of their work. Selene, who was standing not far behind the two women, listened and became curious about the man’s identity.

’He must be being interrogated by Caelum right now. I’ll go to his office later to find out. But it won’t be easy, I’ll have to get past his jealous side first,’ she thought at the time.

She walked away from the two women and continued his work picking up trash.

Until she heard one of the female prisoners mention her name in their conversation.

"Don’t let Selene take him away from us. She already got Chief Rothwell, I hope she doesn’t intend to take the new prisoner," the woman said.

They agreed with that. Selene was indeed more beautiful and seductive than the other prisoners. That’s why many men were flirting with her and even wanted to have sex with her in prison. However, once they knew how dangerous she was, they stopped doing it.

"Selene, they are talking about you. You can’t possibly be flirting with other men," Hannah whispered to her.

"Who said that? He seems interesting. Everyone’s talking about him. You’re thinking the same thing, aren’t you?" said Selene.

"Ehhh... he does look handsome. But you already have Chief Rothwell, Selene. Don’t you love him very much?"

Selene was silent for a moment. "I do, but is it wrong for me to look at other men? I’m still a normal woman after all. Men can be attracted to more than one woman, why can’t women?"

Actually, she just wanted to tease Hannah because the girl’s reactions were always funny to her. However, Hannah just silently stared at her.

No, Selene realized Hannah’s gaze was not on her but something behind her. She was also aware that the other female prisoners had stopped talking and focused on what they were doing while occasionally glancing in her direction.

"Why are you silent? Did I say something wrong because I thought I was looking at another man?" Selene asked Hannah.

But her cellmate gulped as soon as she heard it. She pointed at something behind Selene with a glance.

Feeling something strange, she looked back, only to find the Chief Warden standing behind her, staring at her with a sharp gaze and his hands folded in front of his chest.

"So you’re thinking of seeing another man after what you said in my office last week?" he asked coldly.

"Huh? That’s not it. I just..."

Without waiting for her response, Caelum lowered his hands.

"My office, now."
