CHAPTER 283: ADOPTING A CHILD

Both Iris and I were caught off guard when we heard this sound, but we turned to look in the direction that this voice was coming from.

When we looked over, we couldn’t actually see what it was that was making this sound.

After all, there was the large corpse of the Thunder Boar that was in the way.

When we walked around the large corpse of the Thunder Boar, we found that there was this small figure that was there. It seemed like it had a grudge against the Thunder Boar with the way that it was kicking it.

Though it really was too small to actually do anything to the Thunder Boar’s corpse.

It was like a small child that was trying to move a giant building with the way that this small figure tried kicking it.

But even though the small figure wasn’t actually doing anything to the corpse of the Thunder Boar, it didn’t seem like it was giving up. It really seemed like it wanted to stomp this Thunder Boar into the ground with the way that it acted.

This was more than enough to show the grudge that this small figure bore towards it.

"It has to be one of the monsters that suffered because of the Thunder Boar’s rampage, right?" Iris suddenly asked while staring at this small figure.

I didn’t say anything, but I did nod in response.

It wasn’t hard to figure out what was happening here, it was just that there wasn’t anything that we could do about this.

We had already taken down the Thunder Boar, so it wasn’t as if there was another Chapter to this.

That was why we silently watched the small figure kick the Thunder Boar for a while.

Though I had to admit that this small figure was indeed brave that it was able to kick the Thunder Boar’s corpse like this. Even though the Thunder Boar was dead, it wasn’t as if the Thunder Boar’s aura had disappeared.

This was the aura of a higher grade monster that would be able to stop any normal lower grade monster from approaching. That was why there were none of the monsters that lived in the area that came to see what happened.

All of them were still terrified of the aura that the Thunder Boar’s corpse released.

After a while, Iris came forward to pick up the small figure.

The small figure seemed to want to resist, but then it stopped when it saw who was picking it up.

When it saw that it was Iris that had picked it up, it suddenly lowered its head to her as if it was thanking her.

When Iris saw this, she couldn’t help revealing a faint smile. The look in her eyes showed that she clearly found what this small figure was doing was cute.

That was because this small figure had a cute appearance in the first place.

This was a small monkey, but it didn’t look like a normal monkey.

With the way that its body was shaped, it was almost like some kind of cartoon monkey instead of what a normal monkey would look like. Its head was even so big that it almost seemed comical.

But this cute appearance was good for making girls let their guards down since they thought that it was cute.

It didn’t just lower its head to Iris, but also to me.

It seemed that it recognized that I had also taken part in taking down this Thunder Boar.

That was why it was filled with gratitude towards me.

Seeing it do all of this, it showed that this wasn’t a normal monkey.

It was without a doubt a monster since it lived in this place, but it seemed to be a monster with intelligence. Not only that, it seemed that it was quite intelligent since it was able to recognize everything that we did.

But before I could say anything, Iris asked, "Did it kill your family?"

The little monkey trembled when it heard this before slowly looking up at Iris.

After looking into her eyes for a bit, it slowly gave a nod.

This was to be expected since there was nothing that could make this little monkey hold this kind of grudge unless its family was killed. It was most likely the youngest child that had been protected by its family with the appearance that it had.

After another moment of silence, Iris suddenly asked, "Do you want to come with us?"

The little monkey was surprised by this question from Iris.

It wasn’t the only one that was surprised by this question, I also couldn’t help looking at Iris with a surprised look when she suddenly asked the little monkey this. But I could also see the serious look that was in her eyes after she said this.

I didn’t say anything in the end as I waited to see what the little monkey would do.

The little monkey actually shook its head in the end to show that it didn’t want to, but there was a different look in its eyes.

Iris didn’t miss this as well, so she said, "Don’t worry about that, just tell me if you want to come with us or not."

The little monkey trembled when it heard this before looking at Iris in disbelief.

It seemed like it couldn’t believe that Iris would say something like this to it.

But in the end, the little monkey gave a slow nod.

Iris gave a nod as well before turning to look at me with a smile and saying, "We have a new family member."

I couldn’t help shaking my head with a faint smile when I saw this, but I didn’t say anything and just gave a nod in response.

As long as she was happy...

Though the main reason was that I could tell that this little monkey wasn’t normal.

It wouldn’t have been able to approach the Thunder Boar’s corpse if it was normal after all.
