Hero or Villain, Both
Chapter 344: Testing the spirits
CHAPTER 344: TESTING THE SPIRITS
Looking around, I made sure that there wasn’t anyone nearby before summoning out Pyro and Aero.
The girls had wanted to come with me, but it really would have been hard for me to explain how Pyro and Aero had suddenly become High Grade Spirits.
I would think of a way to explain it later, but now wasn’t the time.
Right now, I wanted to see just how much stronger Pyro and Aero had become after evolving into High Grade Spirits.
When the two of them came out, it seemed like they already knew why I had summoned them out. The two of them seemed like they were ready to show off how much power they had gained.
It wasn’t as if it was a bad thing that they were excited about this.
It was just that if they were to use too much strength, it wouldn’t be a good thing either.
That was why I said, "Alright, I want you to show your power, but don’t go too far."
The place that I was using was a special place that wasn’t that far from the capital of the Abel Kingdom. This was a place that very few people knew about, so it could be said that this was an isolated place.
It was just that if they caused too big of a commotion, it wouldn’t be hard for people to find this place.
If they were to find me with these High Grade Spirits causing a huge mess, they might even think that I was some kind of terrorist.
So there was only so much power that they could use.
Pyro and Aero seemed disappointed that they wouldn’t be able to use their full power, but they accepted what I said in the end.
The first test that we did was naturally the most basic test of all.
A single fireball and a single blade of wind.
After these were condensed, I looked closely at them since I could see the mana flowing through them with my eyes. I could see that the mana that was inside of these two things were much stronger than before.
But at the same time, I could tell that the amount of mana that I was consuming to create these attacks with the power of Pyro and Aero had been reduced.
That meant that both Pyro and Aero had become much stronger and that they didn’t need as much mana from me to do these things. At the same time, they were able to gather far more elemental energy from nature since they were considered more in tune with it after evolving.
This was all expected since they had evolved into High Grade Spirits.
"Now, let’s test something more detailed."
When I said this, Pyro and Aero both seemed much more excited.
Though when I meant more detailed, it wasn’t as if I meant more destructive.
Since they had evolved to become High Grade Spirits, that meant that their control of their respective elements should have become more refined. It meant that they would have more refined methods of using the elements that they controlled.
So when it came to more detailed, it was all about...
"No, that’s the wrong shape. You need to bend it a bit more here and curve it a bit more there." I said while reviewing the things that Pyro and Aero made.
I had them control their elements and form different shapes with them.
That was the best way to test the control that they had over these elements.
It seemed that they had far better control compared to before, but it also seemed like there were things that they could improve on. However, I knew that this wasn’t because their natural ability was bad.
This was more because this wasn’t something that they had done before, so it wasn’t as if they knew how to do it properly.
The fact that it was already better than before was proof that their natural abilities had improved.
Now they just needed to practice and they would be able to do far more than before.
This was a good sign since it meant that there would be different ways for me to use their powers.
Such as a flame that would slowly burn in a certain place and take away all of the air.
Or a ball of wind that would suffocate a person to death.
These detailed ways of using their power were things that couldn’t be done before, but it would be possible in the future as long as they trained with their power.
Then the only thing that was left to do was...
"Try to restrain it as much as you can, but also let me see how much power you have."
There were confused and awkward looks on Pyro and Aero’s faces when they heard this.
I didn’t blame them for this since mentally they were still kids.
At the same time, the way that I said this was indeed quite confusing.
It was just that this was the best way to say it since we had to make sure that we didn’t cause a scene.
So in the end, the two of them decided that they would just try to do what I said without really thinking about it.
"Wait, no, stop!" I tried calling out to them, but the two of them couldn’t stop themselves now.
What the two of them did was fire an attack at the same spot.
The problem was that one of them was a spirit of fire while the other was a spirit of wind.
That meant that what resulted was a combination of their power.
It meant that there was a large...
"Boom!"
"Sh*t!" That was all I could say when I saw what happened.
There was no doubt that an explosion like this would draw the attention of people nearby.
Even if it didn’t draw in people that were nearby, eventually there would be those that came to investigate this area.
"We need to leave." I said without any hesitation.
