Hidden Moth
Chapter 62 - 31: Stereotypes (Part 2)
CHAPTER 62: CHAPTER 31: STEREOTYPES (PART 2)
If he is, then ask clearly what the Hidden Moth Object is and how to use it, and when and where it was lost. If he is not, then at least we’ve eliminated a wrong direction.
As for the one with the surname Qian, he claims to be from the Qi Observation Sect, but he may not really be from the Qi Observation Sect. At least, I’ve never heard of this person; let’s investigate him thoroughly first..."
When mentioning He Kao, Zhao Hai Zhen’s attitude was reckless, but when he brought up Qian Guran, he seemed to hesitate as if he had something he couldn’t say due to Lin Qingshuang’s presence, instead questioning Qian Guran’s identity.
Some things, even if one wants to do them, shouldn’t be spoken of, nor is there a need to say them, but he still brought them up.
Peng Xian could only smile wryly on the side. He had just received the news that the Magic Gate Elders had decreed that Tier Four and above disciples would not participate in matters concerning the Hidden Moth or appear and intervene in Qi Yuan.
But this effectively informed the upper echelons of various Magic Sects that the Hidden Moth has been active in Qi Yuan recently.
Some of these leaders remained silent, received the news, yet did not spread it; others may have informed their disciples but also cautioned them not to go to Qi Yuan in the near future; while some, like Wan Zhongle, could not come themselves but sent their disciples instead.
Different people interpreted this matter differently. Some might think that the Elder is leaving the opportunity here for the younger disciples, as if the upper echelon of Magic Sects were to personally contest it, not only would it escalate conflicts but also make the situation uncontrollable.
For example, Peng Xian thought so, even though he couldn’t fathom the intentions behind the decree from the Ancestral Hall, but he too had his guesses.
Others, like Zhao Hai Zhen, inevitably suffered from the misconception that he who currently dwells in Qi Yuan is among the most formidable batch, naturally aiming to seize this opportunity. Even if his master merely sent him to investigate his junior’s incident, he would still act this way.
Peng Xian had dealt with Zhao Hai Zhen before and understood his temperament; he was humble in the presence of highly respected sect elders but more arrogant in other situations than his junior Liang Kai.
In front of Lin Qingshuang, Zhao Hai Zhen restrained himself somewhat and still showed some respect to the senior. But Lin Qingshuang, having long ceased to concern herself with the affairs of the Magic Sects, only got a trace of respect from him.
Lin Qingshuang showed no respect for Zhao Hai Zhen at all, hearing this, she coldly laughed: "Isn’t the one who entered the room at night with a gun Liang Kai, originally lacking evidence, now is beyond doubt.
You are indeed crops from the same master’s teaching, with the junior having acted so and the senior planning similarly. But never forget the old saying—same choices, same outcomes!"
Upon hearing this, Zhao Hai Zhen was not pleased, his face darkened, and he said: "Senior, our goals are the same. My junior encountered danger, killed by Hidden Moth, you are investigating the murderer of your disciple, I am doing this to help you!"
Just then, Lin Qingshuang glanced at her phone and her expression changed. No one knew what message she had received, then she raised her head and said: "How to investigate? You know well that He Kao is not the murderer, yet you plan to point a gun at him just like your junior did?
Without enmity or grievance, hiding heads and harming innocents, can’t you act straightforwardly? I don’t need your help, and I warn you not to mess around! I will go and ask clearly, openly and honestly explain the situation."
...
The message Lin Qingshuang received was sent by Qian Guran; Old Qian heard the conversation between these people!
Just a moment ago, he glanced diagonally at Zhao Huai Zhen, and Qian Guran was startled too; Zhao Hai Zhen didn’t know him, but he recognized Zhao Hai Zhen, since Wan Zhongle, quite an active figure within the Magic Sect circle, is his elder disciple.
Qian Guran hurriedly slipped inside the house and hid in the toilet. Fortunately, this building had two bathrooms, otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to hide for so long.
At this instant, he regretted it, thinking he shouldn’t have impulsively revealed his identity to Peng Xian earlier to "interrogate;" he merely couldn’t stand the tactics the opponent had set up, intending to create disruption... Alas, it was too impulsive!
Though Qian Guran is a Magic Sect disciple, he previously indeed worked in the design institute, as a middle management and a core professional, a standard academic type intellectual. He mastered techniques and knew some Jianghu tricks but didn’t qualify as an experienced veteran.
A mere Peng Xian didn’t concern him, but he didn’t expect another Zhao Hai Zhen to appear, his instinct told him these situations were unfavorable.
Old Qian sat on the toilet, calming his mind, as if he had transformed into a one-way signal receptor, suppressing his presence to merely receive and not send, capturing Peng Xian and Zhao Hai Zhen’s conversation amidst the noise.
Qian Guran also heard about the decree from the Magic Gate Elders for the first time, no wonder so many Magic Sect disciples appeared recently.
Even Lin Qingshuang came here; although he hadn’t interacted with her before, Qian Guran had heard of this senior’s name and knew some of her matters.
Unexpectedly, Lin Hua Lei had already met his demise. Over a month ago, Qian Guran had encountered Lin Hua Lei, observing covertly, naturally as he secretly exchanged He Kao’s pendant, rented the 911 unit of Building One. Later, he inquired about him and learned his name was Lin Hua Lei.
This Lin Hua Lei didn’t check in using a pseudonym. Qian Guran now discovered that the person was not a Micro Sect disciple but instead an Observing Body Sorcerer, a disciple of Lin Qingshuang.
Peng Xian’s words that followed caused Old Qian chills, even a desire to strangle Peng Xian arising. This rascal, in order to avoid suspicion, actually attempted to dump dirty water onto him!
But investigating further did indeed make him appear suspicious and hard to explain. What should he do? In desperation, Old Qian felt it better to openly explain everything... but whom to tell?
Peng Xian felt sinister, Zhao Hai Zhen felt full of malice, yet Lin Qingshuang gave no such ill feeling, hence whichever perspective is considered, approaching Elder Lin seemed the wiser choice.
The actions Qian Guran undertook weren’t honorable, yet he convinced himself of wronging no one other than He Kao. Moreover, as a Tier Three Sorcerer, he wasn’t necessarily cowering before anyone but should look to resolve the complication.
Ideally, He Kao could join the talk too. Though awkward, at this point, He Kao shouldn’t stay in the dark. Admitting fault, apologizing, and clarifying events would unburden his conscience.
He could ascertain that He Kao was never the Hidden Moth, nor should he remain suspected; such a situation exposed him to danger. Utilizing Lin Qingshuang’s voice to relay the truth, he hoped to reduce He Kao’s issues.
Lin Qingshuang’s identity was public, stationed at Hengzhou Pharmacy, her contact wasn’t difficult to find. Qian Guran immediately sent Lin Qingshuang a friend request along with a message.
Old Qian detailed his identity and intentions, hoping to meet this senior privately to discuss in-depth, with information regarding Lin Hua Lei to share.
