Patrick chuckled, his beyes /bwild with madness that even scared Henry.

Although Henry was wicked, he was genuinely good to his mother. Afraid Patrick might do something reckless, he warned again, “Keh’s already bin /bprison. If anything happens to your grandma, I’ll sever all ties with you.”

“Dad, you’re overthinking it.” Patrick shrugged. His madness and killing intent faded away.

Henry sighed in relief and patted Patrick’s shoulder. “Patrick, don’t rush. Things will work out. We’ll definitely beat Landon.”

“Of course,” Patrick replied.

Henry suggested, “How about you settle down first? Your grandma will pamper you even more if you have ba /bchild.”

“The same goes for Amelia. If she has kids, Grandma will spoil Landon even more.” Patrick squinted. “So, Amelia can’t get pregnant before I get marriedb./bb” /b

Henry was speechless. He thought, ‘Landon’s recovered, and sooner orter, he and Amelia will have kids. Are we supposed to hide under their bed band /bstop them?‘

“I’ve got things to do. I’m leaving.” Patrick waved off, heading out.

Henry sighed in frustration. He thought, ‘Every time marriage and childrene up, Patrick flips out. What did I do to deserve two sons who are into

men?‘

Amelia leaned on the balcony, waiting for Landon to finish washing up while admiring the moon.

The night was so beautiful that it reminded Amelia of her mother. She instinctively reached up to her neck, only to find it empty.

“Where’s my ne?” Amelia’s face paled. She checked her neck again–nothing. The ne was gone.

Amelia wore that ne day and night, constantly touching it several times a day–except for today. Today had been so busy she hadn’t had the time to feel sentimental. ‘Where did it go?‘ she thought.

Amelia began searching the house, even rummaging through her car. Still, no luck.

“What are iyou /ilooking for?” Landon had finished washing up and stood in a neatly pressed light gray robeb, /blooking both gentle and handsome.

“My ne is gone.” Amelia’s voice choked with urgency. “The one Mom left me–the pendant…”

“Don’t worry, we’ll find it,” Landon said. He knew how much that pendant meant to Amelia and immediately involved the whole family in the search. Still, no luck.

“Could it have been left at Kingsley Manor?” Amelia clutched her chest. “I clearly remember it was still on my neck before I left today.”

“bI’ll /bhave my men check.” Landon dialed Kingsley Manor and told the staff to make sure they found the ne.

Amelia sat on the edge of the bed, feeling as empty as her neck. She thoughtb, /b‘bIt’s /bthe only thing I have left from my mom. If I can’t get it backb…/bb” /bHer heart tightened, and tears welled up in her eyes. She wanted to bcry/b.

“bDon’t /bbworry/bb, /bbwe’ll /bfind it,” Landonforted Amelia. “After leaving the house todayb, /bbwe /bonly went to Kingsley Manor. It must be there.”

Amelia asked, “What bif /bba /bguest found it? Or if a kid picked it up, thought bit /bbwas /bbjust /bjunk, and threw it awayb?/b”

b“/bThen we’ll ask every guest,” Landon replied confidently.

“That would be too rude. People wouldugh at you.” Amelia’s eyes reddened even more. She was both upset and touched.

Inviting people over and then going door–to–door asking if anyone found the ne wasn’t something someone like Landon should be doing.

“Laugh? They’d probably just say, ‘Mr. Kingsley loves his wife too much,” Landonughed.

The moonlight outside bathed Landon’s face, making his features look even softer.

For a moment, Amelia was lost in thought. ‘We act like a loving couple in public, but why is it the same at home? Could it be that he has feelings for me? 1..

Amelia’s heart skipped a beat, and when she looked at Landon again, she felt strangely guilty. She reminded herself of the arrangement. I’m just his employee who gets paid on a daily basis.‘

Amelia needed to remind Landon, “By the way, you haven’t paid me for today’s work.”

Landon’s eye twitched. His mood instantly soured. He lowered his head, silently transferring the money while thinking, ‘Money is all you care about. With me around, do you really think you’ll everck it?‘

Amelia choked on her saliva. She thought, ‘Oh my gosh, what’s wrong with him? Could he really have fallen in love with me?‘

Amelia’s face heated up. Her cheeks visibly reddened. She thought, ‘This is Landon, the brightest young man in Norava. So many noble young women couldn’t even catch his eye. Have I really won his heart?‘

“You are blushing,” Landon observed, pleased with Amelia’s reaction. He thought, ‘It’s great that she can hear my inner thoughts, letting me express things I couldn’t say out loud. Now, it’s up to her whether she epts my feelings.

“Is it?” Amelia flustered. She raised her hand to cover her face, not daring to look at Landon.

“You look shy. What are you thinking?” Landon asked, staring at Amelia.

Amelia panicked even more. “N–Nothing…”

Landon said, “You’re definitely thinking about sex.”

Amelia choked again. “I’m not.”

Landon asked, “Then why are you blushing?”

“I…” Amelia trailed off. She thought, ‘It’s all because of your creepy inner monologue.‘

“Amelia, actually, I’m pretty much fully recovered now. If you really want, I could reluctantly help you out,” Landon said, casually opening his shirt to reveal his firm chest.

Amelia quickly pulled Landon’s shirt back down. “I swear I wasn’t thinking anything, really.”

Just then, Amelia’s phone buzzed with a new message.

Amelia nearly jumped at the chance for a distraction, quickly saying, “It might be work. Let me check.”

When Amelia opened it, she saw Patrick had sent her a message about the pendant: [I have it. Come get it tomorrow. But remember, don’t tell Landon.]

Amelia frowned. She thought, ‘Patrick isn’t doing this out of kindness, especially after I publicly injured his hand today. Tomorrow’s meeting feels like a trap.‘

“Who was it?” Landon noticed Amelia’s change in expression and asked.

Amelia, thinking about Patrick’s threat, handed her phone to Landon. “You can see for yourselfb./b”

b“/bbSo /bbit’s /bbwith /bhim.” bLandon /bsmirked.

Amelia bwas /bfurious and punched Landon’s arm. “How can you still smile?”

b“/bbYour /bhonesty makes me happy,” Landon said, grabbing Amelia’s fist. “This is how it should be. Anything that’s going on, you should always discuss bit /bbwith /byour husband.”

“bDon’t /bbe so cheesy at home,” Amelia said, her ears turning red. Calling Landon “darling” in public was natural, but it still felt a little awkward bat /bhomeb. /bThen againb, /bit was because they weren’t ba /breal married couple.

b“/bThat’s how it should be between spouses,” Landon repliedb, /bsmilingb. /b“You’ll arrange ba /btime with him. Tomorrowb, /bbI’ll /bbgo /bbwith /byou.”

Amelia said, “But he won’t let youe.”

Landon said, “We don’t have to listen to him.”

Landon was confident, and Amelia finally rxed. He was amazing–every time he took actionb, /bShe trusted him.

extraordinary. This time bwouldn’t /bbbe /bbany /bdifferent.

“Alrightb, /btime to sleep,” Landon said.

Amelia nodded. She snuggled into her small bed. After a long day, she quickly drifted off to sleep.

Landon shifted his long legs slightly, desire stirring inside him. In truth, his legs were fully healed now. He could make a baby with Amelia.
