CHAPTER 1758: CHAPTER 502: LEGENDS (3)
Whoosh!
A colossal burning peach blossom bloomed in the dim starlight, replacing the shattered figure of the Witch.
Soon, the petals drifted down, bursting with sound, and ripples of crystalline clarity spread around the petals, ripples created by the shattering of Time and Space Power.
The starlight projected in the microcosm brightened.
Fourteen stars flickered with uncertain brightness, shimmering in an elusive array of colors.
"You’re certainly not easy to kill."
A hoarse, unpleasant voice tinged with a touch of rampant slyness echoed from behind the fourteen stars: "I lost two heads, and all it got me was a flower... and a book? That’s just not worth it."
Amidst the conversation, a slender, pitch-black shadow swept out, capturing the Law book left by Shi Hui into the depths of the starlight, revealing a long and distinctively scaled serpent’s tail.
"...Without the Law book, how much Magic can you use!"
Almost simultaneously, another slender tail shot out from the depths of the starlight, lunging towards the depths of the universe. Wherever it passed, the void trembled, spreading ring upon ring of colorless ripples.
Beyond the starlight.
The darkest corner of the microcosm.
A sudden glint of coldness appeared, exploding into an endless brilliance.
The brilliance outlined the graceful silhouette of a witch, growing from small to large. One moment, she was a little girl with blonde hair; the next, she transformed into a mature woman full of charm, repeatedly growing, solidifying in the light; the Vice Principal of First University reappeared in the sight of the Sea Demon King.
But compared to her first breakthrough in the labyrinth domain, this time her wide Cloak was quite damaged, and the Law book she held in her arms didn’t make it out either; it was lost along with the huge peach blossom, trapped in the curse Xiangliu offered with his heads as sacrifice.
As the light and shadow rapidly stabilized, revealing the Witch’s reformed figure, a slender tail descended from above, striking heavily at the top of the Witch’s head with the intent to crush her into pulp in one blow.
The Witch slightly frowned, tilting her head, and the slender tail landed on her shoulder, forcing her body to tilt downward quite a bit.
But that was all.
Five-Colored Radiance blossomed under the tail, like ropes of five colors, binding the tail firmly to her shoulder. No matter how the tip twitched wildly, even as the scales opened to reveal blade-sharp edges, it was unable to break free.
"You seem to have misunderstood something."
The Vice Principal of First University’s cold voice emerged from the Five-Colored Radiance. She stood in the void, still somewhat wavering, her lowered head slowly raising, while waterfall-like symbols, Magic Script, and Spell Formula slid down her pupils.
Her tone was extremely calm, as if she wasn’t at all concerned with the stolen Law book or the snake tail on her shoulder. Anyone who heard her voice would feel naked in the freezing cold, a shiver rising involuntarily within them:
"...I use the Law book simply because I am a teacher at First University, as an example for the children. As for how much Magic I can use..."
The Witch lifted her eyelids, gazing at those fourteen distant and striking ’stars,’ her lips curving slightly: "Wouldn’t it be better for you to feel it personally?"
She extended her pure hand, firmly gripping the slender tail on her shoulder. The scales erupting on the serpent’s body obediently lay flat amid her tender fingers; a few, attempting to maintain their edge, lasted only a moment before shattering with crisp sounds.
As her aura rose fiercely, the Five-Colored Radiance around the Witch suddenly expanded, transforming into five streams of light — red, green, yellow, white, black — like a colorful ribbon, abruptly extending along the serpentine tail into the starlit sky.
Under the Five-Colored Radiance, the massive True Form of the Sea Demon King became layer by layer revealed.
Nine heads and eight tails, neither dragon nor serpent, yet with a serpent’s body and dragon claws, it coiled in the void like a gigantic Pagoda. Countless scales opening on its serpentine body, revealing eyes of all sizes beneath, each eye channeling a streak of starlight from the real World, the starlit sky in this microcosm a reflection of the myriad eyes on the Sea Demon King’s body.
Among them, most striking and dazzling were naturally the eighteen gigantic eyes on its nine heads — though, due to sacrificing two heads, only seven heads and fourteen eyes were exposed, with two heads curled within their coiled body, indistinct.
Noticing the Five-Colored Radiance extending up its tail, the Sea Demon King’s seven heads suddenly rose, mouths opened wide, uttering the True Word, each head reciting a word:
"Candle! Dragon! Holds! Radiance! Nine! Heavy! Doors!"
The seven words seemed to form a spell, but because the seven heads chanted simultaneously, they blended into a new sound, faintly resembling ’quake.’
The quake sound invoked dragon, horse, and elephant; emerging above thunder; remaining intact and unshattered; beneath linked in Xuan Huang, nourishing and bearing life. The quake sound transformed into nine city gates, using the serpent’s body as a road, the city gates as barriers, dragon form, horse face, and elephant Demon as guards, firmly blocking the Five-Colored Radiance at the front.
The Witch coldly chuckled a few times, raising the arm holding the serpent’s tail like hoisting a long spear, chanting slowly:
"Five colors blind the eyes."
"Five sounds deafen the ears."
"Five flavors spoil the palate."
"Galloping in hunting maddens the mind! Rare treasures cause hindrance in action!"
With the Spell cast, the remaining fourteen eyes of the Sea Demon King were suddenly covered with a faint gray-white, a frenzy spread, disrupting its Will, shaking the foundation of the Nine Heavy Doors.
In a narrow path, the brave win; as the city gate shook, the Five-Colored Radiance breaking through the barrier surged like a flood bursting the dam, sweeping upward, breaking through three layers of gates in one go, drowning dragon form, horse face, elephant Demon in countless numbers, stripping the serpent body of flesh and blood, leaving only bones and dilapidated scales.
The Sea Demon King howled skyward, its seven heads raising high, with eight or nine more dragon claws reaching out from below, blocking the sky, grasping for the Witch at the end of the Five-Colored Radiance.
The Witch’s enchanting eyes glimmered with brilliance, her lovely mouth slightly opening:
"In the east of heaven stands the Arbor, below holds the Candle Dragon."
"I shall sever dragon’s legs, chew dragon meat, making it unable to rise by day, unable to rest by night!"
Five-Colored Radiance converged, becoming colorless, surging mightily, branching into seven or eight fine tendrils, sweeping, rolling, retracting upward. The Sea Demon King’s agonized howl echoed in the void, the dragon claws extending from its underbelly already severed, scattered in emerald blood and surging Magic Power, save for two or three quick-witted claws retracted rapidly, escaping the calamity.
Gaining the upper hand repeatedly in battle did not comfort the Vice Principal of First University.
Instead, her frown deepened.
Since entering this microcosm, Xiangliu’s every move seemed reasonable yet differed from what she had anticipated. For instance, in the past few exchanges, that large serpent clearly had safer countering methods but steadfastly chose to clash head-on, confronting her Spells with its flesh.
As if in a dueling arena, one side abandoned swords and spears, probing the sharpness of the opponent’s blade with its head, neck, and teeth.
The Demon might be bold, but it is not delusional.
Since entering the Legend, Shi Hui had never witnessed such a foolhardy tactic.
