High School of Demon Hunting
Chapter 1768 - 512: The Legend Falls
CHAPTER 1768: CHAPTER 512: THE LEGEND FALLS
Stopping the Five-Colored Lotus while simultaneously taking away the remaining half eyeball of the Sea Demon King, it was done by the two antennae on the ’Snail’s’ forehead.
However, compared to an ordinary snail, these two antennae have become thicker and longer, covered with eyes of a greenish-black hue and tentacled suction cups interlaced with fangs. Additionally, a mouth has grown at the tip of the antennae.
Creak!
Creak!
The ear-piercing sound of chewing echoed over the silent battlefield.
Time freeze continued.
At this moment, across the entire battlefield, only this ’mutated snail,’ Vice Principal Shi Hui inside the Five-Colored Lotus, and the two Legendary Wizards within the Silver Snake World were fully conscious.
"The Sea Demon King cannot die."
The witch stood up from the Five-Colored Lotus, looking down from above at the massive snail crouching on the battlefield, her voice very serious:
"Hand over its remains, and on behalf of the school, I will allow you to leave the Black Prison."
Instinctual need triumphed over reason, causing the Black Snail to ignore the witch’s negotiation.
It remained speechless, replying to the witch’s proposal with the ear-piercing sound of chewing. Perhaps the mouth on the antenna hadn’t fully evolved yet, with limited biting force, and it took a long while, yet that half eyeball still retained much of its shape, rounding out the antenna’s mouth comically.
Amid the chewing sound, there was a slightly crazed and hoarse laughter from the Sea Demon King:
"Yes! Just like that!"
"Are your teeth not fully developed? Chew harder!"
"Put some effort into it!!"
"Your saliva? Where’s that saliva that can dissolve everything?"
"I know a few formulas for solutions that can dissolve legendary concepts, listen carefully, I’ll recite it to you... Some nerve cords are caught in your teeth! Don’t ignore them, they’ll turn into little snakes and run away!"
Realizing communication was futile, Shi Hui made a decisive decision to take stronger measures.
In mid-air, the Five-Colored Lotus spun swiftly, channeling streams of five-colored brilliance to form large hands, which bypassed the tentacle blocking the flower and directly aimed at the other tentacle that swallowed the eyeball.
With large sweeping hands, even a speck of dust could be seized.
Seeing the unfavorable situation, the tentacle recoiled and shrank, in a flash retracting back to the vicinity of the snail’s head, then turning the antenna tip to stuff it inside the snail’s mouth. The black muscles on the tentacle convulsed, expelling the half-chewed eyeball into the gaping mouth of the snail.
In the gaping mouth of the Black Snail, band-like structures appeared filled with fine teeth, resembling a shredder’s gears, while viscous green liquid flowed between the bands like lubricant.
The belt-like structures extended along the oral cavity and into the deeper part of the Black Snail’s body.
The further inside it went, the darker and more filled with an aura of madness, ominousness, and disaster, the mouth’s true legendary aura was even thicker and more destructive compared to the antenna tips.
The Sea Demon King’s eyeball fell into the true mouth of the Black Snail, instantly crushed into a mass of blood paste, dragged deeper into the body by those legendary energies; dragging along was the bony serpent tail, which got ground into bone powder between the rotating belts.
Just seconds ago, the Sea Demon King’s crazed laugh had turned utterly silent in an instant.
Crack!!
Rumble!!
Shi Hui suddenly looked up, gazing toward the northern sky.
The dense twilight seemed like a heavy curtain slowly unrolling from the edge of the northern sky, spreading over the entire world.
The skies abruptly darkened, although the expanse of Xuan Huang still remained, and the silvery moon and the golden sun hung on the sky’s edge, the profoundness of the night suppressed all colors, filling the sky in an instant.
The witch’s gaze fell into darkness as layers upon layers of black clouds piled like mountains in the sky beyond the Black Prison, overflowing with blood-red lightning, like sudden summer rain, pouring down violently, tearing through the night curtain, dragging reverberating thunder, shaking the entire world.
Blood rain poured, the world darkened altogether.
This was a world mourning the fall of a legend.
"No."
"No way!"
"There must be something wrong!"
The witch’s gaze glinted slightly, scanning the entire world with rushing thoughts flashing across her mind — the Sea Demon King wouldn’t disappear so easily — more importantly, if it were just a top-tier legendary entity fallen, it should cause some celestial phenomena but shouldn’t create such an uproar!
The Sea Demon King is definitely not a creature tired of living, seeking death! Not to mention, it had preemptively drawn almost all the luck from the demons in the Black Prison, just relying on that luck should guarantee its survival!
What on earth does it want to do? Why did the Starry Sky intervene in its death? Why have other Demon Kings remained silent until now? Does the Alliance know about this? What about the principal?
Thoughts raced quickly.
Time freeze continued.
The Five-Colored Lotus emitted an infinite amount of five-colored brilliance, transforming into large hands that scooped up the wizards scattered across the Black Prison Battlefield, throwing them into the inner fortress Array, sparing them from the great changes in the world.
Meanwhile, as the Five-Colored Lotus was scooping people, the anomalies in the world became increasingly terrifying.
In the distant earth, cracks slowly opened among the thunder, spewing out scorching blood-red magma.
The magma condensed into hideous ghostly figures, dancing bizarrely beneath the crimson lightning, as if praying to a great presence in the void.
Between the blood-red magma and the blood-red lightning, a shadow of a phantasmal blue-black world was reflected in the void, slowly disintegrating under the impact of lightning and magma.
Shi Hui knew, that illusory world was the world evolved after the Sea Demon King’s legend. As a fellow legend, she understood better what the disintegration of that world meant.
Xiangliu seemed to truly be abandoning everything, facing death.
The contradiction of reason and reality left this top-tier Legendary Wizard momentarily stunned.
The witch could clearly see, in that world, between the sea and the sky and the earth, waves of deep blue were rising high as tidal waves, one flowing after another, swept by the wind, wrapped in thunder and lightning, connecting with both earth and the azure sky.
Ordinary wizards might find it hard to describe the shape and color of those tides, but as a legend, Shi Hui saw at a glance the limitless knowledge and legacy of the Sea Demon King within those tides, as if it had hidden all its secrets in the sea.
Amid the tides were faces crying and distorting — lives evolved by the Sea Demon King, already having considerable intelligence — but when the world overturns, any intelligence seems too insignificant.
The witch watched indifferently as those minute lives struggled, prayed, and helplessly glanced around within the seawater, ultimately swallowed by the substantive black darkness, vanishing at the enormous Vortex’s end.
In the witch’s vision, in that world, between the sea and the sky and the earth, beams of light sequentially faded, representing the powers, magic, and curse commanded by the Sea Demon King.
Separated by several worlds, they seemed somewhat blurred, yet before their final dimming, they remained exceptionally brilliant. Beside the brilliance, large pieces of indeterminate colored patches slowly emerged, mottled onto the illusory world.
Those patches appeared like scale armor, piece by piece, depicting a vaguely humanoid monster shape, with an octopus-like head full of antennae, a bloated and obese body, and narrow wings growing from its back, seawater falling onto it, transforming into trickling green mucus, dripping down.
It crouched there like a mountain beast clutching between the heavens and the earth.
