CHAPTER 80: CHAPTER 80: ETHAN GRANT, YOU’RE SO PITIFUL

Early the next morning, Talia was awakened by a phone call.

She groggily pressed answer, her voice thick with sleep, "Hello? Who is it?"

"Talia Rhodes, come to the hospital to see Ethan," Aaron Lynch’s urgent and worried voice came from the other end, "Do you know Ethan almost died?"

Hearing Ethan Grant’s name made Talia unbearably irritated. She was already exhausted last night, hadn’t slept enough, and was now being awakened for what she thought was something important, but it turned out to be about Ethan.

Talia was frustrated and her temper flared. She said angrily, "If he dies, just deal with his corpse, notify me during the funeral, and for the sake of past feelings, I’ll give his mother something big."

After saying that, Talia didn’t care about Aaron Lynch’s reaction on the other end, and decisively hung up the phone, switched it to silent mode.

Adrian Jennings was awakened by the commotion. In the bed, the man’s arm tightened around Talia, his voice deep and magnetic, "Stay here and sleep a little longer with me."

Talia snuggled closer into Adrian Jennings’s embrace, like a clingy little cat.

The two were nestled in the same warm bed, sleeping in each other’s arms.

It was as if the world consisted only of the two of them.

The wind and snow outside, no matter how fierce, had nothing to do with them.

...

When Aaron Lynch made the call, Ethan Grant was already awake.

The call was made by Aaron Lynch himself; Aaron Lynch knew what Ethan Grant was thinking.

Ethan Grant held onto a sliver of unrealistic hope. He wanted to know if, upon hearing that he almost died, Talia would worry about him, would come to see him.

So this call, he was hopeful.

He had Aaron Lynch put it on speaker.

However, upon hearing he nearly died, Talia not only had no words of concern but also said such heartless words.

Ethan Grant’s hands clenched tightly into fists, the veins on the backs of his hands bulging, his face as pale as paper, and his lips were bloodless.

Aaron Lynch put away his phone, swallowed hard, thinking Ethan Grant was going to explode, he didn’t dare to breathe loudly.

However, Ethan Grant didn’t go crazy in anger as usual.

After a long silence, he said flatly, "Leave, let me be alone for a while."

Aaron Lynch had just left the hospital room when he ran into Vivian Coleman, surprised that she had come to Anford.

Vivian Coleman was full of concern, "How’s Ethan doing?"

Aaron Lynch sighed and shook his head helplessly, "He’s not doing well."

"What happened to him? How did he end up in the hospital during a nice trip?"

Aaron Lynch said, "It was so cold last night, with snow falling, minus five or six degrees. He wore just a thin shirt wandering on the road alone, eventually fainting in the snow, and was brought to the hospital by a passerby."

Vivian Coleman frowned, "Why would he do that?"

Aaron Lynch hesitated to speak.

Though Ethan Grant said nothing, he could roughly guess, it was nothing but about Talia Rhodes.

Last night, he fainted near Riverbend Old Town, where Talia Rhodes and her boyfriend were.

How could he say this?

It’s a headache.

Previously, when Vivian Coleman had just returned to the country, Ethan Grant and Talia Rhodes hadn’t broken up yet.

Ethan Grant was messing around with Vivian Coleman every day, disregarding Talia’s feelings. Now the tables have turned; it’s about time for his retribution.

It’s often said that men are born actors, and Aaron Lynch found this saying quite reasonable.

Ethan Grant’s current state may not necessarily be because he loves Talia Rhodes deeply, but simply enjoys acting, trying to earn Talia’s sympathy to soften her heart and win her back.

As for Vivian Coleman, Aaron Lynch actually despised her from the bottom of his heart.

Originally, knowing Ethan Grant was with Talia Rhodes, she shamelessly inserted herself, knowingly becoming a third party. What good could she possibly be?

Thinking of this, Aaron Lynch suddenly felt that it wasn’t that difficult to speak.

With a neutral tone, Aaron Lynch said, "It should be for Talia Rhodes. You know, Talia Rhodes now has a fiancé, and they’re quite loving. Ethan saw Talia Rhodes and her boyfriend in the old town and went mad, wandering outside alone late at night and collapsed."

"Sigh." Aaron Lynch sighed heavily, looking pained, "You don’t know, he almost died. If it weren’t for the passerby finding him in time and bringing him to the hospital, we might never see him again."

After speaking, Aaron Lynch subtly glanced at Vivian Coleman’s expression.

Vivian Coleman’s face turned pale.

She muttered, "For Talia Rhodes?"

Aaron Lynch sighed, "Yes, you say, isn’t he being foolish? Sigh, only realizing the value of things when they are lost..."

Vivian Coleman shook with anger, her voice rising, "Are you saying he was willing to risk his life for Talia Rhodes?"

A passing nurse spoke up disapprovingly, "Miss, this is a hospital, please do not shout."

Vivian Coleman’s face turned beet red from the anger.

She forcefully pushed open the hospital room door, "Ethan Grant! What do you mean?"

Aaron Lynch grinned, glancing sneakily with a curious look towards the room.

"Bang—" The door slammed shut.

In the next moment, heated arguing echoed from within the hospital room.

"You’re still thinking about Talia Rhodes? Ethan Grant, is this how you’re treating me?"

Ethan Grant scoffed, "Do I need to treat you well?"

Vivian Coleman shouted angrily, "What do you mean?"

"What I did with you in the past was unfair to Talia, now I’ve figured it out, I can’t continue like this. Vivian Coleman, don’t come looking for me anymore, I fear Talia would be upset."

"Hahaha! Ethan Grant, are you still dreaming?" Vivian Coleman laughed wildly, crazed, "Worried about Talia Rhodes being upset? Does she care about you at all? You nearly died for her, has she cared about you even a bit? Has she come to see you at all?"

These words were like a dagger, stabbing deeply into Ethan Grant’s heart.

"Get out! Get out of here!" Ethan Grant, flustered and ashamed, yelled and screamed hysterically.

The room echoed with the sounds of objects being thrown around.

Vivian Coleman watched Ethan Grant lose his mind, red-eyed, sneeringly said, "Ethan Grant, you’re truly pitiful."

After saying that, she turned and left.

Vivian Coleman opened the door, Aaron Lynch hadn’t left yet, and their eyes met unexpectedly.

Aaron Lynch awkwardly rubbed his nose, "Uh, I forgot something inside, came back for it."

Vivian Coleman ignored Aaron Lynch, lowered her head, and quickly walked away.

The hospital room door was open, Aaron Lynch glanced inside.

Oh, what a mess, the anger is quite intense.
