Grayson kept talking in front of us, but my gaze stayed locked on the slutty adviser glued to his side.

“If looks could kill…” Jackughed under his breath. “You’d have buried her three times over by now.”

He’s not wrong. One re and I could burn her where she stood. And maybe I would–if I didn’t have to keep my mouth shut for now. Seriously, what is wrong with her? wing at him like the whole pack is not watching.

“How long since she’s been his adviser?” I asked, eyes never leaving the woman.

    Jack’s smile waszy. “Jealous?”

    As if.

Jack shrugged. “She moved into the inner circle two years ago, so yes, whatever you’re thinking, they probably have done it.”

    Ouch.

My chest knots so tight I swear it might crack my ribs. Two years. My jaw ticks. Does it bother me? You bet. Every. Single. Second.

    “So he fucked her.”

His grin widened, wolfish. “Most likely. You gonna ask him?”

I shot him a look sharp enough to skin. “What am Ib, /btwelve? I’m not asking him shit.”

Jack leaned closer, voice dipping, smug as hell. “Mm. Thought so. Big bad Jessica, ring holes through his adviser but too scared to open that pretty mouth.”

    “I’m not scared.”

He hummed, dragging it out just to irritate me. “Alpha. Jessica has a question for you.”

My head snapped toward him so fast my neck cracked. “Jack”

He just grinned wider, fang–tipped and shameless. “Go on, little wolf. Tell him.”

“Nothing,” I snapped, my jaw aching. “He’s being a dick. As usual.”

    “Jessica.”

    Damn it.

My knees bent before my brain caught up. The scrape of wood bit into them as I bowed my head.

“I’m sorry, Alpha,” I forced out, every word like chewing ss. “I have no question.”

Silence stretched, heavy, until I dared to lift my head. Big mistake.

Because the first thing I saw wasn’t Grayson–it was her. Miss–Perfect–Adviser, lips curled in the kind of smirk. that made me want to rip her throat out with my teeth.

Of course she was enjoying this. Watching me kneel, watching me choke down pride.

I forced my eyes back to Grayson, even though the heat crawling up my neck screamed I’d already lost this round. “See?” I said, shing a smile that didn’t reach my eyes. “No questions. None. We’re all good here.”

Jack snorted behind me. “You’re adorable when you lie.”

I wanted to bury him. Six feet under. Twice.

After the meeting, I found myself in Grayson’s hands. Literally.

    “Grayson-”

    “Quiet.”

I gasped, arching against the wall as his fingers slid in and out of me.

“Goddess,” I choked, my head thudding back against the wall.

He leaned in, lips brushing my ear, cruel in his calm. “After that little stunt in there?” His fingers twisted, hard, making me bite back a cry. “You’re lucky I don’t make you crawl.”

My teeth sank into my lip, stubborn even as my body betrayed me, shuddering in his hold. “Fuck you.”

Hisugh was dark, merciless, and his fingers curled deeper. “Already am, little wolf.”

    “Go to hell.”

“Taking you with me.” His thumb pressed cruelly against my clit, and my breath snapped out in a strangled sound I couldn’t swallow down. “Come.”

I shook my head, trembling, but the moan that tore out of my throat betrayed me, raw and ruined. My legs buckled, quivering, but he caught me, pinning me tighter to the wall with his body.

Another gush, wetter, harder, left me whimpering. My thighs trembled violently, and I copsed against him, panting, mouth openb, /btears streaking my cheeks.

He pulled his hand free only to shove his slick fingers into my mouth, forcing my taste onto my tongue. “Swallow.”

I choked, shame burning through me as I obeyed, and his grin turned wolfish, cruel.

“That’s my good little wolf,” he rasped, licking the salt of sweat from my throat. “Now, tell me what you are jealous about.”

Grayson let me clean myself first. By the time I’d finished, he was already sprawled against the couch, waiting for me.

“Here.” His voice was low, dangerous. “Sit.”

My knees wobbled as I moved toward him.

“Well?” He tilted his head, mouth curved in that infuriating smirk. “What is that all about?”

    “What’s what all about?b” /b

“Don’t y dumb, little wolf.” His arm draped over the back of the couch. “You wanted to w her eyes out in front of the entire pack. Thought I wouldn’t notice?”

bI /bswallowed hard, pulse thundering. “Maybe I just hate her face.”

The lowugh he gave me was pure menace. He leaned forward, fingers catching my chin, forcing me to meet those molten eyes. “Jealous?”

    “I’m not.”

“We’re mated now, Jess. We have to work harder with how wemunicate.”

I squinted iat /ihim, irritation snapping hotter than my shame. “Oh, you sure know a lot about mates, Alpha. You practiced this speech on someone else before me? Or did your pretty little adviser teach you?”

    “Careful.”

I arched a brow, refusing to flinch. “Did I hit a nerve?”

    “Jess-”

    “Did you fuck her?”

His silence was ban /banswer in itself. My stomach twisted, fire licking up my throat.

    “Unbelievable.”

Grayson tried to reach for my hands, but I shoved him back hard enough to sting my palms. “Don’tb./bb” /b

    “Jess-”

“No. Don’t you dare.” My voice cracked, but the fury in it held. “I knew what you were before this. I knew. The Alpha who spread his legs and his teeth for whoever opened theirs. Fine. That’s who you were.” My chest heaved, air burning like smoke. b“/bBut you don’t get to stand here now, call me mate, and expect me to smile sweetly while she looks at me like she’s already had you–because she has.”

His bjaw /bflexed, molten eyes shing, but I didn’t stop. Couldn’t. The words were ws now, and I needed

    them buried deep.

“You think I can’t feel it? Every time she looks at you, it’s like she’sughing at me. Like she’s still tasting you.” My nails dug crescents into my own skin. “And the worst part? You let her. You fucking let her.”

He caught my wrists then, too fast, too strong, hauling me against him so tight I could barely breathe. His mouth hovered at my ear, a growl vibrating through my bones.

“I let her. Once. Before you. And never again.” His grip bit bruises into my skin. “You don’t get it, little wolf. bI /bcould fuck a thousand women and not remember their names, but one taste of you–one–and I’m ruined.”

I hated the way my pulse leapt at that.

    “Fire her.”

His answer was instant, sharp as a whip. “No.”

Myugh tore out, bitter, ugly. “Of course. Goddess forbid the mighty Alpha survive without his little fucktoy adviser.”

    “Watch it.”

“No–you watch.” I ripped free, pacing like a caged animal, heat prickling under my skin. “I don’t care if she’s your adviser, your strategist, or your goddamn secretary–she looks at me like I’m the charity case you dragged home. Fire her.”

Grayson rose, slow, dangerous, every inch of him screaming Alpha. “ I can’t okay. Don’t be so–”

    “So what?b” /b

His nostrils red, a growl rumbling low in his chest, but I didn’t stop. I shoved at him, hard enough he had to catch himself on the table behind him.

    “So what, Alpha? Tell me.”

In a blink, his hand shot out, stopping me from shoving him. “So stupid,” he snarled. His eyes caught mine— and my wolf broke. The bond snapped tight, ws raking down my insides, forcing my knees weak.

Shock jolted through me. What–what is this?
