CHAPTER 485: WILL MY DAD WORRY?

She said calmly, "You should go back early, don’t get lost. The adults will worry."

The child tilted his head, "Will my dad worry?"

"He will, surely."

"But my dad didn’t even come back to see me when I was sick." The child held the ball, feeling somewhat aggrieved, and pouted a bit.

Daisy Ginger said, "Go back quickly."

The child’s dark eyes stared at her for a while, then he turned around, holding the orange ball, and slowly walked away.

Daisy stood at the door, watching his departing figure, frowned, but eventually went back to her room and sent a text to Edward Stephens.

"Your son came to find me."

Because of Robert Stephens’ arrival, the afternoon’s scenes were canceled.

The presence of this big figure made the director team very nervous. Although the staff didn’t know who he was, seeing the leading actress Emma Magus and the chief director Director Carter being so respectful, everyone in the crew didn’t dare to speak too loudly, fearing to disturb this important guest.

The usually stingy Director Carter even paid out of his own pocket, inviting a five-star hotel’s chef from Tsing City to deliver a buffet to the actors at the set.

Next to the big tent, there was a smaller tent, allowing only people around Robert Stephens to enter and exit.

In the evening, Elena Raven finished applying her mask and poked her head out of the room.

"Ginger, the crew said we can eat now."

Daisy Ginger was lying on the bed playing with her phone and didn’t turn around, "I’m not hungry, you go ahead and eat."

Elena walked over to look at her expression, and asked in confusion, "Ginger, are you in a bad mood?"

Usually, when there’s free food and drink, aren’t you the first to go eat?

Daisy didn’t explain much, just waved her hand, "I’m really not hungry, you go eat. Be careful at the table not to get taken advantage of by Ryan Smith."

Elena was still hungry. As an actress, her basic metabolism was higher than ordinary people. She squatted in front of Daisy for a while, then said, "I’ll make sure to bring you back something good!"

She then left.

Daisy really wasn’t in the mood to eat.

She lay on the bed playing with her phone for a while. Knowing Robert Stephens was just downstairs made her feelings restless.

She didn’t know how long it took for the noise from the crew to fade away. Lying on the bed, half asleep, she suddenly heard a knock on the door.

She thought Elena was back and responded with "Coming," getting up groggily to open the door.

"Elena, you..."

Standing at the door was a tall figure, with a slender and graceful presence, holding a steaming plastic bag filled with packed food.

Daisy was stunned to see him, and before she could react, the man had bypassed her and walked in.

She was barefoot, pattering along after him. The man placed the takeaway box on the small table in the room and glanced at her, "Put on your slippers."

"Oh." Daisy complied, turned around to put on her slippers, and watched the man sit down on the sofa.

His brow was slightly furrowed, lacking the usual relaxation. Daisy came over, opened the packed boxes he brought, and found all her favorite items.

She moved a small stool over, sat in front of the small table, dazing with chopsticks in hand before asking, "Why is your brother here?"

Edward looked at her, "Eat first."

"I’m not hungry."

"Eat and then I’ll talk to you."

"...Alright." Daisy pressed her lips together and lowered her head to eat.

It’s unlikely that Robert discovered her affair with Edward and came all this way to cause trouble.

Thinking about this made the food in her mouth seem tasteless.

It was really unappetizing.

Seeing her start to daze while eating, the man frowned and said irritably, "It’s got nothing to do with you."

Daisy looked up at him, "By the way. Did you see the message I sent you?"

"I saw it," Edward responded.

"..." Is that all you have to say? Daisy pouted and lowered her head again to eat.

Since Edward said Robert wasn’t here to trouble her, her appetite improved a bit.

About ten minutes later, Daisy put down her chopsticks.

She saw Edward sitting on the sofa, legs crossed, face propped up, looking out the window. His expression was serene, like a handsome statue.

"Is it okay for you to stay here like this?"

Edward seemed to be daydreaming. Her words brought him back, and he glanced at the little food she had eaten, frowning again, "You only ate this much?"

"I can’t eat anymore." Daisy stood up, cleaned up the leftovers, threw them in the trash can, and then walked up to him, "He brought your son here, and you’re staying with me?"

Edward blinked slowly and said calmly, "Where else would I go?"

"Your son came to me today, complaining that you wouldn’t see him even when he was sick." Daisy pouted, "Although I don’t know why he came to find me..."

But it feels quite unpleasant.

Edward reached out, pulled her onto his lap, and gently held her slim waist with one hand.

"It’s always been my brother disciplining him," he said with a bit of disdain and sarcasm, "Maybe he didn’t teach him well."

Seeing him speak so callously about the child, Daisy felt complex emotions.

She couldn’t talk about this topic, nor did she have the right to, so she kept her mouth shut obediently, not saying a word.

Edward held her for a while before his phone rang. Answering it, a stranger’s voice said Robert had something to discuss with him.

Edward directly answered, "I won’t go," and hung up the phone.

A moment later, the phone rang again, this time it was Director Carter, nervously and anxiously telling Edward, "Mr. Stephens, sir said if you don’t come over, this movie won’t be able to be released in the future. Oh, I beg you..."

Edward hung up the phone, his brows noticeably furrowed. Daisy also heard Director Carter’s words and didn’t look happy.

That man was still as arrogant and ruthless as four years ago, willing to do anything to achieve his goals. She had no doubt that if Edward didn’t go, he would make the thousands-involved movie disappear.

"Your brother..."

"Do you want me to go?" Edward looked at her.

Daisy hesitated for a moment, then shook her head, "If you don’t want to, then don’t go."

He seemed to smile, then lowered his head to kiss her brow before letting her go and standing up.

"I’m leaving."

"You..." Daisy frowned.

"It’s alright," Edward patted her hair, "I just don’t want to see him, that’s all."

His tone when discussing Robert had become much more confident than four years ago.

Not so helpless anymore.

Daisy couldn’t tell if this was a good or bad thing. How much had these four years changed him?
