Chapter 617: Deep-Level Nightmare Torture Room
CHAPTER 617: DEEP-LEVEL NIGHTMARE TORTURE ROOM
The night was like an impenetrable curtain that surrounded the red raincoat. Two rows of bloody tears flowed down her face.
“My child. Give my child back…” The shrill voice evoked an intense hatred. The red raincoat’s crying mixed with the pattering of the bloody rain. She just wanted to find her child, but the divine ghosts from Dream Break Town stood in her way. “Give him back…”
The bloody rain fell on the buildings. The red raincoat lifted her head. She had been delayed too much in the torture room. It had been so long that her connection with her child had blurred. The investigation centre once used her child’s clothes as bait. Once she left Han Hai, that presence weakened tremendously. The deepest obsession was shaken. The red raincoat’s rationality was like the Soul Temple’s outer wall. It could collapse at any moment.
“A divine ghost dominated by chaos? What kind of modification method does she practise? What happened to her mind?” The giant made from Yong Gods growled lowly, “But having no brain is great. I’ll forge her into the copper lion and place her at the ancestral hall to be the guard dog.
“Children are treasures in Dream Break Town. They can be sacrificed and turned into pets and medicine. The chance of you finding your child is near zero.”
The giant’s words cut the red raincoat’s heart. The bloodshot eyes under the rim of the raincoat stared at the giant’s mouth.
“This weirdly-dressed ghost looks dumb. She is easily influenced by emotions. She is far inferior to us.” Before the giant finished, the red raincoat disappeared. The next second, a red figure was reflected in the rain. The ghost in the raincoat grabbed the giant’s mouth. Her sharp fingers shredded through the skin. The nails cut from the mouth to the back of the giant’s ear. The rain drenched her body. Her sanity crumbled like the temple wall. She crawled into the giant’s body. She didn’t care if the giant was stronger. She didn’t care if this would kill her. All she needed was to kill to balance out the pain that ravaged her heart!
The giant body was stained with blood. It stopped moving temporarily.
Gao Ming, who was enveloped by memory, felt a gripping chill. The light on the road slowly dimmed. The hands that held him along disappeared. The city became dark.
A storm started in the dark night. The howling wind ruined Gao Ming’s thin raincoat. He tried to hold onto the raincoat but the red raincoat was swept away by the relentless wind.
“This is so cold. Where am I going? I should push forward, but which way is it?” There was no direction in the blackened city. Before Gao Ming could make a decision, three armed criminals walked out of the shadows.
The white bone mountain collided with a corner of the bloodred city. Three Ji Gods flew in from different directions. Their goal was Gao Ming!
“What a nuisance. I knew nothing good would happen when I opened my eyes.”
Gao Ming lay in a pool of murky blood. A human head faced three Ji Gods. He knew he was no match for them, so he burned his soul and turned into a surging wave. He carried Gao Ming’s body and went into hiding.
In his mind, Gao Ming wondered how he would deal with the three criminals. Suddenly, someone grabbed his arm. He turned around, and a face he’d never forget appeared behind Gao Ming.
“Zhang Ding?”
Zhang Ding’s body was wrapped in layers, and only his head was exposed. He led Gao Ming deep into the memory city. He appeared to have a destination in mind.
“Where are you going? I’ll bring you there.” Zhang Ding’s voice comforted Gao Ming. As more memory fragments united, Gao Ming knew his destination. It was where everything started. It was also where all the truths were hidden.
“Yes. I want to go home. My parents are still waiting for me.” The deepest memory was awakened. A light came on in the city. It looked very out of place. Zhang Ding and Gao Ming ran towards it. Gao Ming ran faster and faster. Zhang Ding couldn’t keep up.
“You should go back first. I have something to do. I’ll… see you tomorrow.” Zhang Ding gave Gao Ming a hard shove. Gao Ming turned around. One of the criminals was gone.
The flood was blocked by the wall of soil. The soul banners waved. A Ji God managed to trap Zhang Ding. It needed to find Zhang Ding’s true body in the water before it could kill Zhang Ding.
“I thought my situation couldn’t be worse.” Zhang Ding smiled bitterly. He wandered in the water. Suddenly, a loud sound entered his ears. The outer walls of the Soul Temple were infiltrated by the bloodred city. They dried and were peeled off. The wind of Dream Break Town flowed into the Soul Temple. The two night skies combined with each other.
“Where is this place? Are we outside Han Hai?” Zhang Ding looked up. There was a massive black snake. It was rotting all over, and its tail was hurt. It dragged its shedding skin and crawled to the top of the Soul Temple. It was about to bite on the heavenly gate when the temple walls crumbled.
The dragon pattern that it painted on the outer walls with its blood faded away. Its almost-blind eyes burst. No matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t reach the gate. Its anger turned into hatred. It looked at Gao Ming, who was shielded by the red buildings.
The familiar face ignited its anger and hatred. It lunged at Gao Ming with impossible speed. Before it could get close, a giant gash opened on its stomach. Incense mist flowed out of its jaw. The chime of the gong almost caused it to lose balance.
“Is it not enough that you’ve been chased out of Dream Break Town? Will you only be satisfied when everything is destroyed?” The night-watcher coughed. Despite his weakened state, his voice was firm.
The soul temple was taken over by the red buildings. The Dream Release method messed up Dream Break Town. The expanding city didn’t stop after the temple walls collapsed. It started to spread madly through Dream Break Town.
The ground turned red. The buildings knocked over the original homes in town brutishly. It ruined the Feng Shui.
The stone pillars at the village entrance shook. The giant stone with the village name started to crack.
The original handwriting was edited. In the end, all the names were gathered in one location to form a new name. However, it failed for some reason.
A sigh came from the boulder. The five fingers landed on a name. Then, Zhang Mingli’s voice began, “Dream Release.”
His body phased out of the boulder and appeared at the village entrance. He was completely different from his teacher’s appearance. He had found most of the things he had lost. He was about to return to his original self.
“I still can’t bring myself to consume everyone’s dream. If this place is destroyed, the testers tricked here by Immortal Pharma will be lost in the abyss. I can’t do that.” Zhang Mingli straightened himself. “I should search for my last…”
He turned to look at Dream Break Town. He saw the Soul Temple that was falling apart and the bloodred city that was expanding like an evil parasite.
“The fuck! What happened here?”
