House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men
Chapter 337: Campaign In The Sands II
CHAPTER 337: CAMPAIGN IN THE SANDS II
(Third Person POV)
[Near Wyl]
There was a small sept located on a small hill a few miles from Wyl. This Sept was built a couple of years before the star fell, the same star that brought Drakken into this world. Many dornish who worshipped the Seven would often come and pray.
Those who passed through the Boneway would make a stop to the Sept to receive the blessings of The Seven, whether they were leaving or entering Dorne. Over the years since it was built, the Sept was visited by thousands of Faith Worshippers and was maintained by at least 6 people since it was raised.
It had helped the faith of thousands of Dornish and other Westerosi who had passed through there, allowing them to find their true selves and giving them hope to continue with their lives. This small sept, which was no larger than small building in King’s Landing, was a pivotal location that was at a quite remote location. Even the Lord of House Wyl would often ride to the Sept to pray, fueling the House’s piety.
And right now, that same Sept was being burned to the ground.
The stone structured slowly crumbled to the ground as the flames raged on, causing a massive bonfire in the darkness of the night.
In front, the Septon who was in charge of it was on his knees with tears running down his face as he looked at the horror before him.
"By the gods...." He said, "What have you monsters done?"
Several meters to his right, some soldiers who were in the area were thrown into the ground and stabbed by Duskguard Knights as they shouted in pain. There were other worshippers who were dragged to the side of the hill and forced on their knees. However, since they were not resisting or seemed to be soldiers, they were not harmed in any other way by the black knights.
Maegor walked towards the burning structure, feeling the heat of the flames, "Tch..." He said, "Even a stupid place like Dorne has the Faith building shacks for their idiotic believers?"
The Septon, a short man with grey hair, looked at the towering figure of Maegor The Cruel, "W-Who are you?"
Maegor looked at him, the glow of the flames illuminating his terrifying eyes, "Of course, filth like you would not recognize your King." He said with pure disgust in his voice, "I am the Faith’s Bane, you cunt."
The Septon backed away, a bit unsettled by his eyes, "A-A monster...."
"Aye." Maegor said, "You could say something like that."
He drew his sword and took a step forward.
"Maegor." a Knight called out, "Olyver has orders. The Septons are not to be harmed."
Maegor scowled, "Why?" He asked, "Why give me command of a detachment when I need to listen to orders?!"
"Those are the only orders you are required to follow." The Knight said, "Aside from violating the Tenets, you can do what you want. Murdering the innocent is also a violation of said tenets."
"Bah!" He shouted, "What is that Greenseer Bastard up to now?"
"We bind his arms and take him back to Kingsgrave." The Knight said, "You may resume from here."
"Tch...." Maegor sheathed his blade, "This one was quite easy. I am wondering if there would be resistance further down south."
"These fucking Dornish."

[Sunspear, A Few Days Later]
"Prince Oren, Lord Dayne has written again." Tristeyn said as he walked outside to the courtyard, "He has deployed his forces, aiding House Blackmont in attempting to take Kingsgrave back from the Duskguard."
"Curses!" Oren coughed as he sat on his chair, "They took Kingsgrave?!"
"Apparently, they have laid Wyl under siege as well." Tristeyn said, "Due to the damage that castle suffered during the Great Storm, it won’t hold any longer. I give it a few more days and they will be overrun. We cannot send reinforcements there due to the fact that there is Duskguard presence on the Boneway as well. And there is the Beast."
Oren covered his mouth with a cloth as he coughed, wheezing as his body shook.
"Ah...." He said as he was given a cup of wine, "If Dayne can’t break through the Beast’s perimeter, it is a pointless effort. The Duskguard intend to cut off both passages to Dorne, cutting off any aid from the Seven Kingdoms if there would be any."
"What would our next move be?" Tristeyn said
Oren took a sip from his wine, "You would like to say something, sister?" He looked to the side, "Hmmm?"
Elia was sitting on a chair, a prominent bruise on her cheek, as she looked at Oren with a serious scowl.
"There is no point in wasting good men in fighting back the Beast." She said, "A deal must be made."
"Just how you made a deal with Drakken all those years ago?!" Oren exclaimed, "It nearly bled our entire country dry!!!"
"I did it for the sake of our people! Drakken would have killed them-" She started but was cut off by Oren throwing the cup at her, hitting her on the face, and having wine splash all over her
"Silence!!!" Oren shouted with pure rage, coughing shortly after
"Prince Oren." Tristeyn said, "We should send assassins to Kingsgrave, at the very least sneak them past the perimeter. Perhaps if we can take out their commander, that would give us a bit of an advantage."
"We should do that." Oren said
"Another thing." Tristeyn continued, "Several Septs have been attacked and burned to the ground, the Septons that are in charge of them have been kidnapped, and anyone who resisted were killed mercilessly."
"Tch....that is them making a statement." Oren said, "Fucking Trinity...."
"My assumption is that they could target the Red Temples." Tristeyn said, "Should I warn the War-Priests?"
"Hm, yes." Oren said, "They might be our way of fighting back."
"It is foolish." Elia said, "They won’t do much but incite the ire of Drakken."
"Fuck Drakken." Oren said with a serious glare, "I am glad that the Red God took away his whore."
Elia scowled, "You..." She said, "I could have kept our House and our people safe from all of this terror if your people didn’t usurp my position until you returned, brother. You are weak, look at you!!"
"Another word, and I will cut your tongue out!!" Oren shouted, "You-"
"Prince Oren, perhaps if we can discuss our next move without the Princess here." Tristeyn said, "It would be best....she is distracting...."
"Tch...!" Oren scowled, "Fine!"
He snapped his finger and two guards walked over to Elia who slowly stood up and gave Tristeyn a warning glare.
"I will remember this, brother." Elia said, "When Drakken is in our doorstep again, I will remember this."
"I cannot wait to see you suffer."
