How I Pampered the Tyrant Into Devotion With My Space
Chapter 344: Newlywed Bliss
CHAPTER 344: CHAPTER 344: NEWLYWED BLISS
A horse approached Pei Shu’er’s sedan chair after traveling a distance.
Liu Xu watched the newcomer warily and, upon recognizing Yan Huan Yu, broke into a smile.
Yan Huan Yu walked alongside the sedan for quite a while before gently calling out.
"Sister."
Pei Shu’er lifted the curtain of the sedan and looked at Yan Huan Yu through her veil.
Yan Huan Yu could only see Pei Shu’er’s red lips and delicate chin.
"Fengqing, you’re here?"
Looking at Pei Shu’er’s smile, Yan Huan Yu felt a pang in his heart and realized just how much he had missed her during their time apart.
His words got stuck in his throat. He wanted to take Pei Shu’er away, but he had no standing to do so.
His eyes turned red; he smiled, but the smile was more painful than crying.
"Yes, sister, I’m here. After all, you’re getting married, so I had to come, didn’t I?"
Pei Shu’er’s smile became even more genuine.
"Thank you, then, little brother."
What an understanding brother.
Lin Shiyao, watching from ahead, wanted to intervene but was deterred by the warning in Tang Zan’s eyes.
Tang Zan knew she harbored ulterior motives; if she went forward, not only would she fail, but she might also be harshly punished by Tang Zan.
For a man, even if married, he could still take concubines, so she wasn’t in a hurry—there was still plenty of time.
On the other side, Yan Hengyin played the flute for a long time, yet Pei Shu’er did not emerge. He tried several powerful tunes, but the bridal sedan remained closed.
Gritting his teeth, Yan Hengyin wondered if Pei Shu’er really intended to marry Tang Zan.
He turned to the people around him. As the bridal sedan passed by, he waved at his men.
"Go, bring her to me."
He wanted to stage a matrimonial heist; after returning home the previous night, he found himself unable to sleep.
He couldn’t accept Pei Shu’er becoming someone else’s wife.
She should belong to him.
But as his men charged towards Pei Shu’er, they were met by a well-prepared line of soldiers blocking their way.
Clearly, preparations had been made in advance.
Tang Zan glanced dismissively at the powerless Yan Hengyin, then turned his gaze to Pei Shu’er in the bridal sedan, his expression softening into tenderness.
When it came time for the ceremony, Pei Shu’er’s abdomen still ached.
"First bow to the heavens and earth."
Pei Shu’er and Tang Zan bowed together towards the entrance.
"Second bow to the parents."
The two bowed before Liu Xu and Shen Wanqing, seated at the head, both nodding with tearful eyes.
Liu Xu was moved by Pei Shu’er’s dedication. This girl had finally become her rightful daughter-in-law; she no longer had to worry about Pei Shu’er being taken away by anyone else.
Tang Peizhong was not the War King now—he was only Tang Zan’s uncle. Yet he knew that Tang Zan’s bow included him.
He felt somewhat gratified.
A woman beside him remarked with a smile, "Your son is just like you were when you were young."
Tang Peizhong turned to look at her, his gaze much softer than when he looked at Liu Xu, his eyes flashing with evident affection.
The woman bore an uncanny resemblance to Liu Xu.
Tang Peizhong nodded nostalgically, "Jing Ci, it’s rare that you remember."
Jing Ci smiled, "I’ll never forget how you looked when you were young."
Liu Xu watched them converse, her face somewhat pale, but she knew this was her son’s wedding feast, so she forced a smile.
"Couple bow to each other."
Tang Zan was somewhat anxious because, during their previous marriage ceremony, this was the point where they were interrupted.
He had made many special preparations for this day.
Yan Hengyin came forward but was blocked. In the end, he could only watch with red-rimmed eyes as Pei Shu’er and Tang Zan bowed to each other as a couple.
It wasn’t until the ceremony was complete that Tang Zan finally felt at ease, while also beginning to anticipate what was to come.
He felt his body temperature rise slightly at that moment.
"Send them to the bridal chamber."
Pei Shu’er awaited in the new room.
Tang Zan was taken to drink outside. Previously, his subordinates were intimidated by his cold demeanor but now, on his wedding day, they dared to approach and toast him.
Unexpectedly, this formidable General became intoxicated after only a few drinks.
About half an hour later, Tang Zan was helped into the bridal chamber, appearing thoroughly drunk, his steps unsteady.
Only after his attendants left did Tang Zan revert to his usual self.
Pei Shu’er noticed Tang Zan approaching and became slightly nervous, clutching her hem.
Tang Zan paused in front of Pei Shu’er and slowly lifted her red veil.
In this moment, Pei Shu’er’s makeup enhanced her already exquisite features, making her look otherworldly, like an immortal descended to earth.
Tang Zan was momentarily entranced.
This was his wife.
The person with whom he’d spend his life.
Pei Shu’er glanced at Tang Zan, then lowered her head under his gentle and profound gaze.
Tang Zan removed the phoenix crown from Pei Shu’er’s head and helped her remove her makeup, finding her bare face even more captivating.
Tang Zan pressed a kiss to Pei Shu’er’s face.
Then his lips grazed her brow, trailing down to her lips.
As their lips met, Tang Zan softly said, "You’re so beautiful."
Pei Shu’er, smelling the scent of wine on Tang Zan’s breath, lowered her head in embarrassment, her voice shy.
"Husband is very handsome too."
Tang Zan embraced Pei Shu’er, whispering in her ear.
"I love you."
Joy filled Pei Shu’er’s heart as she wrapped her arms around Tang Zan’s neck, responding softly.
"I love you too."
Tang Zan woke up feeling very tender.
When he saw the red stain on the fabric, he felt even happier, kissing Pei Shu’er once more.
At last, she belonged entirely to him.
Pei Shu’er felt overwhelmed and quickly pushed him away.
"The morning has come; we shouldn’t fool around. We have to serve tea soon."
She was impressed by Tang Zan’s stamina—remarkably impressive.
Who in the army spread the rumor that Tang Zan was incapable?
He was indeed very capable, unbelievably so; he left her feeling as though her waist might break!
No man was more capable than Tang Zan!
Tang Zan chuckled at Pei Shu’er before nodding gently.
"At this rate, having two children in three years doesn’t seem impossible."
Pei Shu’er replied, "...We don’t have to rush; I think I can wait before having kids."
Tang Zan smiled at Pei Shu’er.
"You’re right; I don’t want to share you either. I want to have more time with just you."
The thing he hated most was others taking Pei Shu’er’s attention, be it anyone, even his own child.
