How to Tame a God and the Lucky Beasts
Chapter 97 - 98: Returning to the Hotel
CHAPTER 97: CHAPTER 98: RETURNING TO THE HOTEL
An Qi heard Ruan Xingwen say he had serious business to handle, and she was quite curious. So she blinked her big, bright eyes and asked:
"Xing, what are you guys going to do?"
The implication was that she wanted to go as well.
"Stop, you have to help me watch the shop."
Andy knew her too well; he could read her every expression. Ever since An Qi came to their family a few years ago, she had become much more expressive, completely different from the somewhat introverted and withdrawn little girl she once was.
An Qi pouted, knowing she was being bullied. But she couldn’t refuse; after all, she had this "cheap brother" who loved to tease her. And who could blame her for being so cute, beautiful, and understanding!
"Hmph, don’t forget what you promised me!"
"Got it!"
The siblings had "communicated" successfully. Andy was going to accompany him to sign the contract, while An Qi stayed behind to watch the shop.
As long as the contract was signed today, he could move house, and Little Yuan wouldn’t have to stay in the hotel anymore.
Ruan Xingwen suddenly remembered he hadn’t told Little Yuan that she could move today.
He took out his phone from his pocket, found Little Yuan’s number, and dialed.
The ringtone had barely started before it was answered; it seemed Little Yuan was just looking at her phone at that time.
"Hello, Xing, what’s up?"
Little Yuan’s voice came over the phone, and simultaneously, the same voice came from the stairway.
All three of them turned their heads to look at the stairway, and sure enough, they saw Little Yuan coming down with a sling bag.
Little Yuan, not hearing a response, felt a bit strange. Sensing someone staring at her, she turned to look at the source of the gaze.
"Huh, what are you doing here so early?" Her phone was still pressed to her ear.
Ruan Xingwen hung up the call, "We’re going to sign a contract in a little while."
"!!! Is it that villa?!" Little Yuan raised her voice in surprise.
Ruan Xingwen nodded calmly, "Yes."
An Qi looked at their contrasting attitudes and whispered to her unreliable brother, "Villa? Is it a house? Like ours?"
He flicked An Qi’s smooth forehead lightly, "Yeah, curious baby. But it should be a bit bigger than ours."
Andy was quite familiar with domestic architectural styles, considering he used to work in the construction industry.
Though he had foolishly chased after a jerk for ten years, he hadn’t neglected his studies. With excellent grades, he had managed to get into the top university in his city.
"Wahhh, brother, I want to go too."
Hearing that the house was even bigger than theirs, An Qi became even more curious.
Andy looked at his grumpy little sister, thinking of a solution.
"How about this, we’re just going to sign a contract in a bit, and we’ll move this afternoon. Help your brother watch the shop for the morning, and I’ll definitely bring you along when we move in the afternoon. How does that sound?"
An Qi nodded excitedly but hesitantly asked, "What about the thing you promised to buy me?"
As soon as she asked, she got a light tap on the back of her head, followed by Andy’s teasing laughter,
"Chuckle, An Qi is such a greedy little thing! Don’t worry, I promised you, so I’ll definitely buy it for you."
"Yeah!" An Qi jumped up and hugged Andy, dramatically kissing his cheek.
Andy wiped away the non-existent saliva helplessly; even after all these years, he couldn’t quite get used to An Qi’s occasional "bold" affection!
Ruan Xingwen and Little Yuan were drawn to the siblings’ antics, looking over together.
"Who is this girl?" Little Yuan asked, puzzled.
Such intimate actions, could she be Xing’s childhood friend’s girlfriend?
But no, Andy liked guys, didn’t he? She couldn’t be a girlfriend!
Was he bisexual? But hadn’t he just been heartbroken... this...
Ruan Xingwen noticed Little Yuan’s gaze at Andy was becoming less friendly, realizing she must have misunderstood. He patted Little Yuan on the shoulder to regain her attention.
"She’s called An Qi, An An’s sister."
"Oh oh, that’s good, I thought..." She didn’t finish the sentence, but the unfinished meaning was clear.
However, Little Yuan was still a bit puzzled; the siblings looked vastly different, the brother having an Asian face and the sister being a pure Western beauty.
"They’re from a blended family."
Ruan Xingwen’s explanation cleared Little Yuan’s confusion.
Now she was relieved; she had almost started to question Andy’s character.
Meanwhile, Andy, already being pestered by his sister, had no idea that his character had almost taken a hit due to An Qi’s actions.
While the siblings were bickering, Ruan Xingwen had already explained their purpose and the things they were going to handle later to Little Yuan.
After hearing Ruan Xingwen’s explanation, Little Yuan also wanted to go along.
Ruan Xingwen had anticipated this too; Little Yuan was always afraid he might be tricked again. Worried about unreasonable fees for the lottery-won villa, she insisted on accompanying him to check it out.
Ruan Xingwen agreed without a second thought, it didn’t matter to him how many people went.
"I plan to move there this afternoon."
Little Yuan was surprised, "That soon?"
Then she understood Ruan Xingwen’s intention, "It’s not urgent for me, staying at An An’s hotel is quite good."
Hearing his name, Andy chimed in, "Yeah, not to brag, but my family’s hotel has the best conditions for miles around!"
Ruan Xingwen and Little Yuan exchanged glances and laughed. Andy hadn’t really paid attention to the main point of their conversation, only catching the part where Little Yuan seemed to praise him.
Andy felt puzzled by their laughter, "What’s so funny? I’m telling the truth."
He was indeed telling the truth. Andy’s hotel, both in terms of decor and furniture, used the best materials. Except for not offering breakfast, it was indeed the best in the area.
However, not offering breakfast was not considered a flaw given its geographical location. Just outside the hotel was a food street, the same street where Ruan Xingwen and Yu Xiaozhe ate together.
From breakfast to late-night snacks, all kinds of food were available, so even without breakfast at Andy’s hotel, it didn’t lose any guests.
"Alright, alright, you’re right. But we need to get going, we can’t be late."
Ruan Xingwen glanced at the clock hanging above the reception desk; it was already past nine.
"Let’s go then," Little Yuan said eagerly.
She was just about to go out for food, but upon learning about Ruan Xingwen’s contract signing, she didn’t feel hungry anymore.
An Qi watched everyone getting ready to leave, and gently tugged at Ruan Xingwen’s sleeve, "Xing, can I come when you move?"
An Qi had a baby face, with big, watery eyes, looking very pretty. At this moment, those pretty eyes were staring intently at Ruan Xingwen.
Before Ruan Xingwen could answer, Little Yuan couldn’t resist An Qi’s cuteness and answered for him.
"Of course! If we really sign the contract, we’ll come back and pick you up to move in the afternoon!"
An Qi let go of Ruan Xingwen’s sleeve and tightly held Little Yuan’s hand instead.
"Really? Sister!" An Qi asked with big eyes blinking, using her advantage—cuteness—to its fullest.
Lovingly, Little Yuan patted An Qi’s golden hair, "Really, I’m called Wang Xiaoyuan, just call me Little Yuan."
