HP – Shadow Monarch!
Chapter 252 – The End of Voldemort.
[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]
Third Person POV
Azkaban.
...
...
Voldemort was standing in his cell, certaialy not having the best moment of his life.
He was more than wounded, crippled, his connection to magic was weakened. He had never felt like this in his life, not even when he was an orphan at Hogwarts had he felt weak.
He hadn't even received treatment, his trial, if he could even call it that, was so bewildering as he only heard whispers for hours, the damage from the battle had been horrible to his body.
No one even treated him properly, refusing to give him care, he was a broken man, he was nothing.
Voldemort was there now, trapped, staring into nothingness, he didn't eat any of the food that arrived for him through the ministry's magic, no house-elf or auror appeared to bring food. The dementors themselves brought it and none of it was very good, the food was cold and unappetizing. It was only just enough to keep them alive before the dementors began to suck more of their joy, torturing all the prisoners, pushing them further into madness.
Voldemort was once so powerful that he inspired fear and gained the submission of the dementors, now... the dementors began to come into his cell, sucking everything he had, his sadistic joys, his conquests, the sensations of power, the idea of a world dominated by him... The dementors entered his cell and began to drain all of his strange ways of feeling pleasure.
And all that remained was the idea of feeling his worst fear. Feeling that soon he would die, that he would have nothing left but to lose absolutely everything.
After all, Voldemort's greatest fear was death, it always had been.
'I will not die...' he suddenly said... 'I just need this body to give way, I have Horcruxes. I have 7 of them, I am immortal and I will return stronger, more prepared!' Voldemort seemed to be saying this to himself.
He looked paranoid at the dark cells. "That's it... I am immortal! I will return!" he exclaimed, beginning to laugh. Strangely, a dementor would usually appear at such a moment, seeming angry at him for shouting, and would begin to suck his soul. But none appeared...
"When this body dies, I will return... I will deal with all those who wronged me. Hahahaha." Voldemort seemed at his lowest level of sanity.
He seemed confident, there was no dementor to silence him, so he laughed like a madman.
But a thought came to his mind. Not a thought, a voice. From someone Voldemort hated with all the strength of his body.
'With that, you won't kill yourself. Your soul will still be trapped in this body. When we meet again, I will already have destroyed all your Horcruxes. Or rather... I will already have absorbed each part of your soul for my shadow army.'
He remembered very well what Severus had told him the last time they met...
"No..." A chilling thought came to his mind, how had he forgotten that? He knows!
"It can't be..." he murmured, with a trembling voice, from the madness of before, he now found himself in despair the very next moment.
"No!" he exclaimed as he desperately searched for a way out, the Dementors hadn't come yet, he could try to take his own life, destroy the body, it would give his spirit the chance to leave and seek a new way to form a new body!
He looked at the wall with the thought of smashing his own head. But hadn't he already tried that? Either way, he quickly went to the wall, only to discover he couldn't strike his own head against it.
He couldn't move, he felt glyphs appearing on his body, just as in many moments when he had tried to destroy his body, he couldn't do it, Severus Snape had placed that on him as well.
"He's after my Horcruxes! I have to get out of here..." he said to himself, giving up on the idea of killing himself, since there was nothing to be done.
He went to the bars of his cell and gripped them. "Get me out of here, I order you!" Voldemort shouted with all the dignity he still had left in him.
"You're being too demanding..." a voice came from the corridor, and Voldemort recognized it instantly, stunned. "...for someone so weakened. You're nothing more than a shadow of your former..." Footsteps began to echo as Severus appeared, walking calmly through the corridors of Azkaban, no Dementor in sight, and he wasn't even using a Patronus like the aurors usually did when they entered that prison.
He was walking calmly through that side of the prison, it was an isolated area, Voldemort had been transferred there due to the danger he posed to other prisoners, he had to be isolated without any other contact.
Now, the same Voldemort looked at Severus approaching his cell, until he stopped in front of it.
"It's been some time, Voldemort, you haven't been eating properly, you're so thin... I hope you weren't planning on dying that way, right?" Severus asked, standing on the other side of the cell.
"What are you doing here..." If Voldemort could have cast Avada Kedavra with his gaze, he would have done so multiple times at Severus.
"You can guess..." Severus said, staring at the creature that had terrified the wizarding world for years, who was now nothing more than someone waiting to die.
"You won't kill me!" Voldemort snarled, perhaps clinging to some hope that he could escape this situation.
"You think I didn't take care of everything... I planned to deal with you from the moment you thought you could harm me through others. I destroyed all your precious Death Eaters... All slaughtered like animals. I know that doesn't make up for all the horrors you inflicted on Muggles and other people of the magical world..." Severus spoke with an indifferent tone, staring at Voldemort.
"They have no rest after death, I am using all of them, and they have helped me protect the Muggles they so despised in life, now it's your turn." He said, while Voldemort remained silent, not knowing what to answer.
"You know... even here, I was keeping an eye on you the whole time... Waiting for the moment to come here... I could have done it in an instant, but I wanted to see Azkaban through the front entrance." Severus spoke as a shadow began to manifest at his side.
Voldemort looked stunned as he saw what that shadow was, how could he not recognize it, it had tampered with his soul enough for him to know. The connection was still there.
"No..." said Voldemort, trembling, as another shadow emerged behind him, coming from his very own shadow. Severus had kept Juggernaut with Voldemort since he had defeated him. A safety measure, and that had caused Voldemort to suffer some nightmares with the shadow that night of the trap. Killing his followers like cockroaches, slicing them like cheese while no magic worked against the creature.
The cell was completely dark behind Voldemort, while he only stared at the part of himself, as if he had accepted becoming that thing. It looked happy and resolute, serving the very man who had left him in that situation.
How could Voldemort accept this?! His destiny was to become that, he who was meant for great things, to bring the entire world to its knees?
If Voldemort was questioning this, terrified, as he looked at the shadow where all 6 parts of his soul had become, he could not answer.
Because the Juggernaut behind him disappeared, giving way to Severus Prince, while the only thing Voldemort felt the next moment was a sting in his chest, as a blade pierced through him.
Voldemort quickly felt the strength of his body vanish, as he looked where his heart should have been, cut open with the blade releasing lightning, he didn't even care about anything else, whether Juggernaut appeared in front of him or even his shadow.
He was just there, dying.
Severus withdrew the blade from his back, as Voldemort fell like a rag doll, hitting the ground and spilling blood directly from his heart.
Everything went dark, and Voldemort, the one some considered the greatest dark wizard to ever exist, died.
Everything went dark, and this would be his end.
But a voice would not allow this to happen, and from the darkness, Voldemort heard it.
"Arise."
In the next moment, the black aura exploded from the dead body and quickly surged against Voldemort's shadow, taking in his 6 fragmented parts, but now, united.
Severus finally saw his shadow soldier completed, receiving the notification that all 7 parts were together, completing Tom Marvolo Riddle as a soldier. Juggernaut's shadow showed disappointment and returned to the other soldiers at Severus's feet, and he could see the single shadow kneeling before him.
"You are not more powerful than Kargalgan, but you will be useful." Severus said to the shadow.
He saw the notification asking for a name for it. "Volgrim." Severus said, for surely this was the most powerful shadow that could use magic from this world.
He ordered the shadow to join the others and found himself inside Voldemort's cell, with his body still lying there, blood spread across the floor.
Severus simply broke the cell with a punch that sent it flying, then began walking out again toward the exit.
"You know... we'll have to fly back... since I used the shadow swap behind him..." Severus commented, wondering if he should have done that at all.
"I wanted to look cool and then hit him from behind... it was cool, wasn't it?" he asked again to himself, as hundreds of hands, many human and some not, giving him a thumbs-up, began to appear from his shadow, as if they were supporting him.
He simply kept walking out after that. The Dementors only looked at him in fear. Fleeing as soon as they saw him, while he continued forward.
"Who is he...?!"
"He's not using a Patronus, but the Dementors are fleeing, they flew away before he even arrived."
"You're saying this guy makes them run? Who is he?"
Multiple voices began to echo through the place. But Severus ignored them, he had already taken another path out because he had heard the same things from the other side.
"Severus!" a voice recognized him, and Severus looked toward one of the cells for the first time. He had no idea who would recognize him there until he saw who was calling.
"You..." He looked at the nearly elderly man, a master of illegal potions, the same one who had bought his potions last year. After that, he had sold 15,000 potions at the end of the year and forced the man's business to stagnate thanks to the shop opening, which Severus himself had helped fund with the sale of that immense quantity of potions.
"What are you doing here?" Severus asked, while the man took it as an offense.
"You ask me?! It was thanks to you! I've been here the last 3 days, being kissed by damned Dementors!" he shouted angrily.
"You'd help me if you told me what happened..." Severus simply asked.
He seemed to look at Severus with blades in his eyes. "The Ministry! They were after any information about you and they came to me! They put me here, that's why I say it's your fault! They questioned me and I had to answer everything I knew about you, which was nothing but that you were a damned student who tricked me and that we had business together!" he complained.
"Ah, in the end I didn't even need the ingredients I asked for anymore, anyway... If that's the case..." Severus simply raised his hand and a blue aura began to appear.
In the next moment, the cell exploded, startling the man as the bars fell to the other side of the corridor. The man blinked several times, almost unable to believe what had just happened, or that there was nothing holding him there anymore.
"You want to get out? Come with me." Was all Severus said as he continued forward.
"Hey, get me out too."
"Do to my bars what you did to his!"
"I have money hidden, lots of galleons, if you get me out of here I'll give them to you, I promise!"
Severus's action surprised all the other cells, and immediately everyone wanted the chance to get out as well, but Severus ignored them, continuing on his way out. The man finally seemed to realize what had happened and began to run after Severus, seeing his chance to escape, after all, he would be condemned for being a master of illegal potions in the black market of Great Britain.
