Hunter of Mysterious Creature
Chapter 62: Geng-Type Eerie Entity
CHAPTER 62: CHAPTER 62: GENG-TYPE EERIE ENTITY
"You?" Ye Xuan slightly frowned, "Do you have any means to directly attack the spirit body?"
"No, but I have another method I can try," Sun Hang replied.
"Sun Hang’s ability..." Yang Lian nodded toward Ye Xuan—after taking over Yang Qi’s position, she naturally obtained the right to read Sun Hang’s files, "might really be able to deal with the mysterious baby!"
"Alright, then go give it a try!" Ye Xuan didn’t hesitate anymore and nodded at Sun Hang, "If it doesn’t work, evacuate immediately; we’ll do our best to support you."
"Hey buddy, I can only get this close! The remaining ten meters, it’s up to you to jump over—this shouldn’t be a problem for you Mysterious Creature Hunters, right?" The helicopter pilot turned and loudly said to Sun Hang.
Sun Hang gave him an OK gesture before leaping out of the cabin door.
In the next moment, dozens of pale hyphae shot out from his body, adhering to the surface of the office building’s glass curtain wall, and then, just like Spider-Man in the movies, Sun Hang swung across, sticking onto the glass curtain wall.
However, Sun Hang couldn’t just pass through the glass curtain wall like Bing 634, so he had no choice but to gather the hyphae into a massive fist and smash a hole in the glass curtain wall.
Using the hyphae for leverage, he somersaulted forward and finally entered the office building, landing steadily inside.
Yet, in just those few seconds, several bodies were already lying scattered across the floor.
"So many dead?" Sun Hang couldn’t help but frown. He sensed something wasn’t right, "Could all these people possibly be related by blood to that scumbag from years ago? Or maybe Bing 634 has mutated and no longer follows its original killing logic?"
Sun Hang stepped over a leg wrapped in black silk and quickly walked forward, toward a nearby cubicle where Bing 634 was straddling a young female white-collar worker, crazily raising and lowering its hands.
The female worker was screaming just two seconds ago, but now, she was completely silent.
The strong smell of blood permeated the small cubicle.
"Even the attack methods have changed... Is this thing truly Bing 634?" Sun Hang wondered, "Or is it just a new mysterious creature that looks very similar to Bing 634 but has entirely different characteristics?"
Sun Hang thought about it and decided to first test the opponent with physical attacks.
If it’s not Bing 634, maybe bullets could solve the problem.
Sun Hang drew his handgun—after his body was strengthened by "Ta Sui," he could endure a greater recoil, so he switched from a nine-millimeter-caliber ordinary pistol to a hunting handgun with a 0.5-inch caliber.
This weapon’s power is completely overwhelming for unarmored human targets; any hit on any part would be lethal.
The mysterious creature, suspected to be Bing 634, was still aggressively attacking the already lifeless woman, completely unguarded, with its back to Sun Hang.
Sun Hang aimed at the back of its head, released the safety, and started to squeeze the trigger with force.
Sun Hang was less than three meters away from the mysterious creature; at this distance, even when he was just beginning to practice shooting, it would be impossible to miss.
"Bang!!!"
The unique loud gunshot of the hunting handgun echoed in the office building, and the creature’s motion froze instantly—half of its head had disappeared, with the ripped-open wound exposing dry, decayed flesh like tattered cotton.
"Dead?"
Sun Hang was just about to step closer for inspection when the creature’s exploded head unexpectedly regenerated in mere seconds—if not for the surrounding desks and floor stained with the splattered matter, Sun Hang would have doubted whether the shot he fired was just an illusion.
"Still able to self-repair, unable for physical attacks to be effective... could this be a variant of Bing 634?"
Once the creature’s head recovered, it regained mobility but didn’t turn around to attack Sun Hang; instead, it continued robotically tearing at the young woman’s corpse, its persistent hatred seemingly perceiving her as the reincarnation of that scumbag from years ago.
"Look at me, bastard!" Sun Hang shouted at the creature, but it completely ignored his call.
At this moment, Sun Hang involuntarily shivered, feeling the presence of multiple mysterious entities; besides the nearby "Bing 634," there seemed to be other mysterious creatures within the office building.
And not just one.
"Wait, something’s not right." Sun Hang lifted his head and looked around, suddenly finding the floor eerily quiet—the white-collar workers who were screaming and fleeing earlier had vanished without a trace.
The only moving thing on this floor was the crazed Bing 634 and himself.
"Something’s wrong!"
Sun Hang turned around and looked toward where he came from—the hole in the glass curtain wall was still there, but everything else had disappeared.
The helicopter carrying Wang Xiyi and the others, the neighboring buildings of the office, the oppressive lead-gray clouds, and the moonlight faintly shining through the clouds... all vanished.
Outside the glass curtain wall was nothing but boundless darkness, as if the entire building had sunk into a abyss where even light couldn’t escape.
Sun Hang took out his phone, and as expected, the signal was zero bars.
"Bing 634" continued to "vent" on the corpse, not stopping for a second.
Sun Hang seemed to realize something and walked over to the nearest corpse to himself, flipping it over.
It wasn’t a human corpse at all, but an incredibly lifelike mannequin, with vivid facial features and hair. However, the eyes, made of glass balls, appeared somewhat lifeless, and the teeth inside the mouth weren’t made of hard material but the same silicone as the skin.
Sun Hang drew his dagger and sliced open the mannequin’s clothes—not controlling the depth of the cuts, the sharp tip pierced through the mannequin’s skin several times, yet silicone is silicone; no matter how deep the cut, no blood would flow from it.
Sun Hang moved to the other side and tilted his head to glance at the mannequin’s crotch.
"Damn, it’s actually functional." Sun Hang couldn’t help but curse, "What a twisted fetish this mysterious creature has!"
He knew well that the intense sensation of mysterious creatures wasn’t because the building was hiding numerous creatures, but because the office building itself was a mysterious entity.
"An office building transformed by a mysterious entity, ’Geng Type·Environmental,’ unknown number," Sun Hang murmured in his mind.
"You’re the bait, aren’t you? To lure me here." Sun Hang casually pulled over an office chair and plopped down, asking the mysterious creature in the nearby cubicle.
"And then what? Is this how you entertain guests? Dealing with a bunch of silicone mannequins? At the very least, shouldn’t you offer me a cup of coffee first?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a steaming cup of coffee appeared suddenly on the desk beside him.
[P.S. Don’t ask why there’s still a Spider-Man movie after that distant country disappeared; inquiring minds should know it’s the Xiazhou version of Spider-Man.]
