CHAPTER 66: NOTHING WILL OBSTRUCT ME

Fortunately, he hadn’t fully activated the skill yet, if not, things might have gotten terrible for him.

However, the fact that she was able to sense him even before he activated [Inspect] was terrifying, sending chills down his spine.

’Hehe... this only reminds me how weak I still am. To tour the world and conquer all the MILFS, I’ll need to get stronger... a lot stronger.’ he thought, his eyes flashing with a dark glint.

’No one, nothing is going to obstruct me... from reaching that goal.’

While he was busy thinking of how he would achieve his dream, the others around him kept whispering nervously to one another.

Some remained frozen like statues, their gaze drifting from the knights around then back to the village chief.

After a short while, one of the guards at the entrance raised his hand, signaling to the others.

The wooden gate was closed again, and the remaining youths outside were told to wait until those currently inside had completed their awakening. No one else would be allowed in until it was over.

The murmuring from the crowd died down slowly, replaced by a heavy stillness.

Then, the robed man standing in front of the crystal stepped forward. His warm, wrinkled face lifted into a smile as he spread his hands slightly.

"Welcome, everyone," he said, his voice carrying through the air with surprising strength. "Welcome to the Class Awakening Ceremony!"

His tone was warm and full of pride, and as his words rang out, they echoed past the fence and reached even those standing outside.

It was the effect of a voice amplifying skill, which only required little mana to activate, or else his voice naturally wouldn’t reach that far.

The crowd erupted into cheers, clapping and shouting in excitement. The sound of their enthusiasm rolled through the square like a wave.

The man smiled wider at the response, the corners of his tired eyes crinkling even further.

He lowered his hands slowly, the sound of the crowd gradually fading back into quiet anticipation.

This man was none other than the village chief himself—the one responsible for overseeing and organizing the ceremony each year.

He was only in his fourties, but he looked like he was already more than sixty.

He had performed this role many times before, and yet, each time, his heart still pounded with the same nervousness.

It was clear, however, that his attention wasn’t entirely focused on the crowd or the participants.

His gaze kept drifting toward the woman standing beside him—the same beautiful woman whose presence had captured everyone’s attention earlier.

Even as he spoke, sweat had begun to form on his forehead. He calmly swiped them off with the back of his sleeve, trying not to have it too obvious.

The woman didn’t wear elaborate robes or jewelry, just a simple shirt and pants that fit her perfectly. Yet the aura she carried was far from simple.

Every movement she made was calm but deliberate, and there was an unmistakable sharpness in her eyes—the kind that came only from years of battle experience.

She stood at a higher rank compared to the other knights around, as she was a general.

The other knights around were all following her orders, and her position as a knight general in the kingdom couldn’t be overlooked either.

Her authority was high, and even the village chief, for all his status, knew better than to offend her.

If he said or did something that displeased her, his life could be snuffed out in an instant.

That was simply the kind of power she possessed.

So, as the ceremony began, the chief’s smile remained warm, but there was a flicker of unease in his expression.

His words carried confidence, but his heart beat a little faster each time her gaze turned his way.

*

The first to walk towards the crystal was a tall, lanky boy.

His limbs were long and awkward, and the way he moved made it seem like he wasn’t quite sure how to balance his own body.

There was a nervousness in his steps, his eyes flickering briefly to the villagers beyond the fence before focusing on the massive white crystal before him.

The village chief gave him a calm, reassuring look before slowly gesturing toward the crystal. "Place your palm on it," he instructed softly.

The boy nodded quickly, swallowing hard as he stretched his arm forward.

His palm pressed against the cold, smooth surface of the crystal. For a few seconds, nothing happened.

A heavy silence spread through the area. The crowd watched in anticipation while the boy’s expression began to change.

His lips quivered slightly, and his eyes darted nervously between the crystal and the chief. His breathing grew uneven, his shoulders trembling as the possibility of failure crept into his mind.

Then, suddenly, the crystal lit up with a bright green light.

The light burst outward like a wave, illuminating the entire area.

The glow spread across the field, spilling over the fence, and even those outside could see it.

Murmurs and gasps echoed through the villagers as they stared at the spectacle.

The village chief’s eyes flickered briefly, a knowing look flashing across his face as he thought to himself, ’A common class, huh...’

After all, green light signified a common class, blue light a rare class, and orange light—an almost mythical occurrence—represented a unique class awakening!

The green light shone for a few seconds longer before slowly retracting back into the crystal, dimming until it was clear and still once again.

Glowing green letters quickly materialized on the surface of the crystal, right before the boy and the village chief.

[Class: Tailor]

The boy’s eyes widened as he stared at the letters.

For a moment, disbelief filled his face, and then his tense shoulders finally relaxed, a shaky exhale escaping his lips.

His class was only common grade, but he was satisfied nonetheless—it was still far better than not awakening a class at all.

The village chief gave a small nod, clearly relieved that the ceremony had started off smoothly.
