I am an Eldritch Entity
Chapter 285 285: Another anomaly? Or the same anomaly?
An hour earlier, when Eryndor switched to his eldritch form, it elicited a reaction.
In a secret room, which was constructed not far away from the backside of the main building of the Training Camp, an array beeped.
The room was large, with plenty of things inside, contrary to the waiting place of Eryndor to meet with Master Iyu which had a minimalist style.
There was an assortment of materials kept on one side of the room.
It consisted of eyeballs, bones, beast hide, tongues and even something which resembled a batch of human skins.
That wasn't all.
Another part of the room consisted of various plants of all kinds.
Another part held ores which would normally take quite a high amount of disciples to take the mission of finding all of them. They were simply that many of them in all varieties.
One part of the room contained shimmering Qi crystals, each the size of a baby's fist.
According to their size, they were one of the largest and highest quality Qi crystals available to the public.
Apart from these items, there existed a massive array formation on the ground of this room.
All the items were on one side of the room, occupying barely ten percent of the total area.
The massive array formation was roughly in the middle, occupying seventy percent of the room.
It consisted of straight lines, circles, arcs, and all sorts of designs.
The last twenty percent of the room consisted of a desk, behind which a middle aged man sat on a well cushioned table.
The desk had a variety of items littered on top of it, the majority of them being documents. If one read the title of those documents, they would find a title common in them.
Bureau of Anomaly Control.
Yes, this was a room belonging to the department tasked with dealing against the anomalies.
Of course, their official rooms would be much more luxurious, bright, large, and simply just better in all aspects. They were in the process of being constructed.
This room? It only had one function.
To detect anomalies.
The array formation occupying the largest portion of the floor was responsible for that.
At times, the items kept on certain locations of the array would crumble into dust. At that point, the middle aged man sitting behind the desk would get up and take a suitable item from several small hills on one side of the room and place it on the empty spot in the array formation, making the array work again.
Suddenly, as the middle aged man was busy scrutinizing the array formation for any item on it which would suddenly crumble to dust, the entire array formation glowed.
The lines, circles, arc, every design began glowing.
It glowed red for roughly two seconds and beeped before settling back into its usual state.
During this time, the middle aged man had long stood up and was hastily contacting the important personnel regarding the matter.
Master Troy was leaning against a tree, watching the team discuss their loss and discuss what mistakes could've been avoided when he got a message.
[An anomaly was sensed.]
His brows furrowed as he read that message.
Even though we didn't manage to kill that anomaly, we did injure it. Is it already moving around?
He didn't notify the disciples of this matter but kept it to himself, thinking deep about it.
After a few seconds, he instructed them.
"Stay here and practice your group fights, I'll be back in a few minutes."
*****
Eryndor was already done thinking a few moments ago, and he was really just bored at the moment.
Just when he was considering eating the food kept on the table, the door to his room opened, and a tall middle aged man walked in.
From his red robes, Eryndor could almost certainly confirm that the person was Master Iyu.
The man had a thin stature, dull black eyes, and long hair which reached his waist.
Eryndor doubted the man once he took in his overall look, but kept a sufficient amount of respect on his face given his red robes.
He hesitantly asked. "Mastery Iyu?"
The middle aged man nodded as he took a seat on the big sofa.
Immediately after, his body tilted gradually, until he was laying down on the sofa completely. His eyes had already been closed at some point.
Uh…what?
Eryndor seriously doubted if this man was a master. Was this a bearing one someone of his stature was supposed to have?
He didn't know if he should wake up the man, or call in a staff. As he was in a state of indecision, a voice sounded in his mind.
"Brat, can you be quick with whatever you want to ask?"
Eryndor's head snapped to Master Iyu's side.
Mind reading? No. This must simply be communicating in mind.
There was a moment of silence as nothing happened.
Yes, he didn't react. Therefore he can't sense my thoughts, nor can he read my memory. My Sovereign's Cloak would've activated long ago if that was the case.
There's a high chance that he'll only listen to what I want to specifically communicate.
Eryndor was quick to reply as he deliberately focused on his thoughts to be 'conveyed.'
"I got some information that there is a grove of sky reaching bamboo in one of the surrounding regions which doesn't come under the campus of the Training Camp.
"The information spoke about how those sky reaching bamboos have a spatial element to them. One which is very likely unstable.
"It might tear the local space in the future, causing a miniature rift or unstable gateway to unknown locations.
"I wanted to know if there's a chance that something might happen to the Training Camp as a result of that."
Eryndor didn't say anything about where he got the information from.
He also didn't involve himself personally and asked if there was a threat to his life, but asked in a roundabout manner if the Training Camp would get damaged as a result of that phenomenon.
Master Iyu's eyes snapped open.
