CHAPTER 628: BROTHER TYRANT SPARES YOUR LIFE (PART 2)

It’s not like we have some profound feud, but it feels like I’d recognize him even if he turned to ashes! Jing Shu felt utterly helpless. How did I run into this buffoon again?

The tall and skinny Jiang Changke dashed out of the crowd, ceaselessly bragging and introducing her to his university classmates as if they wouldn’t recognize her otherwise.

"See that? The great Jing Shu came by herself! Yes, that’s the great Jing Shu, I guarantee it. She came without even asking Young Master Lan for an invitation. A boss truly is a boss. What do you say now, Young Master Lan? Anything else to add?"

Jiang Changke asked the refined Young Master Lan, who was dressed in a suit.

Young Master Lan adjusted his glasses and politely asked Gold Dominator, "Brother Tyrant, is there anything I can do for you? Are you alright? Do you need a Doctor? Let me handle this matter; I’ll ensure you receive a satisfactory outcome."

Gold Dominator haughtily turned his head away. "I’m fine. No, no need to handle it." Rub, rub, rub... My fucking toe hurts like hell! I really want to rub it, damn it! But I can’t show I’m in so much pain. I need to find a secluded spot to rub it properly...

The suit-clad Young Master Lan frowned again and asked Jing Shu, "You are Jing Shu, correct? I don’t know how you managed to get in here, but as for hitting someone at this trade fair, we have the authority to ask the organizers to remove you. You must apologize for this incident."

"Right, apologize! How dare she offend Brother Tyrant!"

"Do you even know who my Brother Tyrant is? You’re screwed!"

"Not even the King himself could save you today!"

"Oh, look, that’s Jing Shu. She’s dressed quite nicely; perhaps she’s a golden phoenix after all. Too bad, it seems she’s provoked someone she can’t afford to."

Jing Shu’s finance assistant, Liu, was frowning and about to call for backup, but Jing Shu stopped him with a shake of her head, signaling him to remain calm and not act rashly.

Among the crowd, some remained silent, merely clenching their fists with their heads bowed. Sweet dumpling and Liu Xia stood near Young Master Lan, too afraid to speak, but inwardly, they felt a little pleased, hoping Jing Shu would be taken down.

Jing Shu took a look around. Young Master Lan really was something else, getting almost all their university classmates to work here as waitstaff. And those in plain clothes must have been using the extra entry quotas.

So, having a bigger crowd and a louder voice makes you right?

The manager in charge also arrived. Seeing that Gold Dominator was involved, he immediately scurried over to inquire about the situation.

Gold Dominator looked thoroughly impatient. He wanted them all to clear out; they were keeping him from rubbing his foot.

"What, Gold Dominator, you want me to apologize?" Jing Shu wasn’t known for her good temper either. She dropped the playful demeanor, her brow furrowing slightly as she pressed forward step by step. Her aura immediately suppressed everyone present. Publicly, Jing Shu wouldn’t cause Jin Tianci to lose face, but privately... she’d ensure Gold Dominator suffered in silence, unable to even lodge a complaint.

"Disperse, disperse! This matter ends here!" Gold Dominator shouted, exasperated, then immediately turned and limped away towards the restroom.

With the main party involved no longer pursuing the matter, the people around him immediately followed, leaving behind a crowd that had been eagerly waiting to watch a good show.

Young Master Lan was a bit puzzled. He glanced at Jing Shu. This person dared to address Gold Dominator by his full name, and Gold Dominator wasn’t even angry? This doesn’t make sense.

The manager in charge also let out a sigh of relief. "What’s with Little Overlord today? He used to cause trouble every day. He truly is a Devil."

"If it weren’t for Brother Tyrant sparing your life, you’d be dead today."

"Let’s go, let’s go."

"Consider yourself lucky."

Jing Shu snickered. Yes, lucky for Gold Dominator he ran off quickly.

The crowd dispersed quickly. Some felt regret, others pity, but as the Celebrities Gathering was about to begin, everyone’s attention was once again captivated.

"I’ll serve the big shot, shall I? Boss, whatever you need, just say the word. Boss, where are you sitting? What’s your seat?" Jiang Changke followed eagerly.

Jing Shu, nursing a throbbing headache, ignored him and took another look around before finally finding her own seat.

Jing Shu’s spot was known as the "privileged seating" area—the best in the house, not even in the same section as Li Yuetian. This meant it was very close to the display stage, allowing for a much clearer view of the items up for auction. This was important since this wasn’t the Imperial Capital; there were no 3D virtual screens, and even the lighting was subpar.

The key was that there weren’t many people, and the area was divided into four small sections, each with its own screen, making it quite private. It was akin to having a front-row box, with each box seating around thirty people.

Just as Jing Shu settled into her chilly chair, the door curtain was flung open. Gold Dominator, gingerly rubbing his chest and then his rear end, limped in with a large group in tow.

Both parties looked up, equally surprised.

"You’re in the wrong place, aren’t you?" Jing Shu asked.

"I’m not! This is the spot my dad arranged," Gold Dominator replied subconsciously. After speaking, he grew angry again, then quickly realized that if his dad had arranged it, then it must be correct; it was very likely he had arranged for Jing Shu to be here as well.

Upon hearing this, everyone’s eyes lit up.

"He must be one of the authorities, right?"

"Looks like it. Although this isn’t an auction run by the Township Government, all earnings here still go to them, I’ve heard. They say the assets are either from those who have committed crimes or are bankrupt and liquidating."

"Brother Tyrant is incredible, booking such a large space in such a prestigious place! We definitely came to the right event."

Young Master Lan asked, "So she’s the one in the wrong? Manager, could you come over here, please? And waitstaff, waitstaff!"

Annoyed, Gold Dominator waved his hand dismissively. "Forget it, forget it, she’s not in the wrong. Let’s get on with it; I still have tasks to attend to." If I had known, I would have let my Little Uncle come. I really shouldn’t have taken on this crappy task.

Jing Shu and Liu, without a doubt, chose the best seats in the center of the front row. Gold Dominator sat nearby, while Young Master Lan and Gold Dominator’s Gou Tuizi took the second row. The remaining quota spots were filled by others further back.

This place didn’t provide food or water; it was quite bare-bones. The chairs were all ice-cold.

The attentive Liu, having already wiped the chairs clean, had laid down blankets and set up an extra chair for Jing Shu as a small table, covering it with a pink and white tablecloth. He then took out a thermos, poured Jing Shu a cup of coffee, and added two large pieces of crystal sugar.

He also presented four small plates laden with banana chips, dried fish, peanuts, sunflower seeds, and cherry tomatoes, among other things.

"Have a little something to tide you over," Liu said, then stood to the side holding his briefcase, like a bodyguard.

Forget the onlookers in the background, who were gaping, muttering, "Holy shit! Holy shit!" and swallowing audibly; even Jing Shu was astounded by this scene.

It’s the freaking apocalypse, and he’s bringing all these snacks just to observe the event? Does he think this is a theater show?

This Liu... he’s really getting the hang of things. Bringing his own food for the boss like this? Jing Shu swore she hadn’t brought any of these items herself.
