CHAPTER 92: REVELATIONS

Nolan, as if predicting that question, curled his lips in a smile that wasn’t really a smile.

"That contract is nearing its end. The law Ymir made was only active for around eight trillion years... They can already mend with this world through astral projection like... what they did to me." He rubbed the worms on his face.

His voice turned even more painful. "Ymir can’t make that law again, without killing herself at least.

Which will also be much shorter than the first one, while killing our greatest defender as well.

She can already see them... They are all around the infinity, waiting with their giant armies purely made of outer Gods, divine stage, and stage zero creatures.

Ymir has been trying to gather allies all over our universe, but no one we’ve found is strong enough for this responsibility, maybe besides one man...

Leor."

His voice turned optimistic. "If that boy used his ability to make a reality where the barrier didn’t near its end, and make a reality where the higher dimension didn’t strain him for mending with a higher dimension, he could effectively save the world through this loophole."

"Then why the fuck are you trynna kill him!?" Johan asked in a voice that suppressed neither shock nor disbelief. He was at a loss—wasn’t their whole talk about planning to kill Leor?

And also the fact that everything was already going towards a certain ending.

If Johan remembered correctly, in one of the endings, Leor killed the creator. That should be the reason for the barrier to break, as the power source died, leading to the DLC events.

In the other ending, he married Ymir. Then most likely, this ending was the reason for him to get into the DLC events.

In all the other possible endings that Johan knew of, Leor never even interacted with Ymir directly.

That all made sense, but... wasn’t this happening too fast?

Why is Ymir the one looking for Leor? Didn’t she kinda hate him for breaking the human world’s balance?

She hated him almost as much as she hated Radhaan and Lucifer.

’Everything seems forced now.’ Johan shook his head, not understanding anything.

"Well because... it all comes down to his aether core. Have you heard of Igroth?" Nolan asked calmly, turning back to look at Johan.

"That shady organization allied with the Church of Ymir? Yeah, I even constantly met Astreus because of the numerous kingdoms’ deals with them." Johan replied casually, thinking over the aether core part.

Igroth was teased at the end of the game too. Some fans speculated it probably held some importance later on—probably in the DLC or the second part.

So Johan became all ears.

Nolan didn’t reply instantly, extending his palm.

Then, immediately, two chairs and one table—Victorian-style with a soft, pure white cover on it—manifested.

Nolan slowly took the seat on one of the chairs while motioning Johan to do the same.

Johan looked confused for a second, making Nolan chuckle. "Take a seat. This information might change your mind about not becoming my—no, our—ally." He then created an old-school white, pure glass coffee pot, with two matching cups, at a flick of his finger.

Johan’s mouth instantly watered at the sweet aroma of coffee, missing that damn thing so much.

He didn’t really feel hunger or anything inside the trial, but a man craved his coffee not because of hunger, you know.

Nolan, looking at his expression, summoned a giant box of bear-head-shaped cookies too, flashing a kind smile.

Johan didn’t hesitate any longer, taking a seat and instantly pouring himself a cup of coffee, filling it to the top edge of the giant glass cup.

Then he grabbed the two biggest pieces of cookies and dipped them in the coffee till they got as soft as a sponge, slowly munching them down with teary eyes.

He made the kind of faces a girl made while masturbating at the sweetness of the cookies with the bitterness of the coffee. It was just perfect.

Nolan’s smile sharpened, leaning a little on the tablecloth.

"It’s a council of outer Gods and divine stage fighters who ally with Goddess Ymir. They control the entire world—no, the universe—from the shadows."

Then Nolan’s voice became deliberate. "Yes, their current mission is to eliminate the trio of Radhaan, Lucifer, and of course, Leor. Radhaan especially, as he had taken away our control over the Aurelian Empire and the Midgard Empire."

His voice grew shameful. "I can’t directly attack him, as I am already sealed and crippled. Goddess Ymir’s aether core is still recovering from the last fight with the Goddess of Death and Lucifer’s alliance. And due to her very weak soul, she can’t heal it with just imagination, as it’s her aether core."

Nolan’s tone made it clear that the aether core of Ymir was stronger than even her imagination—meaning, healing it required more than just effort. It required a contract.

Then his voice became melancholic, and nostalgic. "You know how mothers can’t kill their children...

She tried to seal them. Like this, most of our members are in some kind of situation. Some divine stages crippled by outer Gods. Some of the outer Gods slumbering from the previous Holy World Wars.

Which left only two outer Gods, and seven divine stage fighters to fight."

"Splattt!"

Johan spat an entire cookie and half a cup of coffee toward Nolan, making his worms eat all of it as quickly as it reached his face, while Nolan’s face darkened.

Johan, with great effort, suppressed the urge to call Igroth the ’Squad Wheelchair’ with the amount of cripples they had.

He also understood one more fact. With just ten percent of their walking members, they were already the strongest force in this entire universe.

Johan, with an apologetic face, said in a voice filled with shock, "This is more than enough to deal with Leor and do whatever experiment you want to with his aether core. He’s not even at the peak of stage zero, you know!"
