I Am The Heroine's Father: The Cannon Fodder's Ascent
Chapter 94: Her arms...
CHAPTER 94: HER ARMS...
Nolan nodded, Johan did feel far saner than Vivi, and Leor, but no way he was sane. Nolan still clearly remembered what had happened in the trial.
"This is just my warning. Be very cautious with your research on systems." Johan smiled passionately, a kind of smile wives give on the first night. To which Nolan nodded warmly.
The last line was there to make sure Nolan thinks twice before trying to dissect him.
And "As far as I know" was there if somehow Nolan figured out the real truth, Johan could just say he didn’t know.
Suddenly, Nolan’s eyes brightened, as if understanding something, and making his own theories, mentally taking notes of it all.
But, he was lost at the words "Artificial intelligence" even though he felt like they were the key to make something similar, and replicate powers.
As if understanding Nolan’s curiosity, Johan added with a soft smile, "Artificial intelligence is the intelligence created artificially, like a machine."
Nolan nodded thoughtfully, feeling a bit regretful at Johan not knowing the crux of the matter: How do they get chosen by this?
But then Johan’s extremely enthusiastic voice caught Nolan’s attention, "As for Leor’s ability and how he could move at the speed of light..."
"Because of the favourability system, the more people love him, the more he can steal from them.
His voice trembled, "He is also slowly changing their mentality to love him more, like brainwashing them. This is the most evil system to ever exist." Johan hesitated not for a single moment while throwing his fellow transmigrator under the bus.
’I am sending some trouble your way, Mr. Godcomplex.’ Johan grinned inside his heart.
Nolan’s pupils contracted, instantly sending this information to the Igroth’s intelligence department through his mental connection.
If this knowledge about this brainwashing system of Leor was somehow revealed to Radhaan, and Lucifer, their entire relationship could crumble in a single moment, becoming arch-enemies worse than any. No one liked being played by their feelings, not even Radhaan, the strongest man.
And understanding Nolan’s strategic mind, Johan knew Nolan will eventually think of doing this.
Johan’s brows furrowed.
Now that he looked at it, he hadn’t lied a single time, just told something that could, or couldn’t be true, which made sense even if that was a lie as Nolan didn’t expect to know much.
Maybe that’s why Nolan believed him so easily. People at this level had a kind of instinct to tell when someone was lying.
Johan had just bullshitted his way through it all, as he himself actually didn’t know what the system was? Why did he have it? And how it was so powerful to instantly give him abilities in seconds...
But, nothing else mattered anymore. He had hit six targets by just coming to the trial.
*’First, I defeated ’James’, and now feel much better. Second, I learned so many more things about this mad world. *
Third, I finally got a quest, and now can finally have a chance at getting a broken ability.
Fourth, I made massive progress in my spells, and thought of new ways to use them.
Fifth, earned the favour of Igroth, a bunch of very overpowered, and endgame characters, and maybe even gained their help in escaping from the Aurelian Empire too.
Sixth, threw my arch-enemy, Leor Milford under the bus, making his life a little bit worse.’
Suddenly, Johan’s eyes widened as he felt an intense pain in his head, then, his mind flashed, the last words he heard were—
"Thank you. I gave you a return gift, hope you like it."
’Make that seven!’
Johan suddenly felt his eyes sting, as if needles were constantly stabbing them, twisting, and turning.
He tried to open his eyes, but they burned, as if something sticky like glue was holding them tightly together.
He finally forced his way, even feeling his flesh at the eyes tearing as they opened, and the blood falling on his cheeks.
His vision was blurry. He tried to blink, only making more blood fall out, but then, he finally saw light, and the most beautiful thing in the world right beside it.
That thing had long, pale white arms. The arms slowly closed in to his blurry vision, then the hand, and then the palm opened.
Johan flinched at the speed of the hand, it sometimes seemed to be slow, sometimes fast, but against his expectations, they gently placed themself on his cheeks.
They were warm, and soft, like made out of cream but softer.
But, then, before Johan’s scream could even escape his lungs, his lungs were pressed, suppressing the scream. He could feel his ribs cracking by the grip of that thing, but they regenerated quickly, and... he didn’t feel any pain.
Which meant, [Numbness] was at play, suppressing all pain. This led him to believe he was... finally out.
"Johan!! Are you okay? What happened to your eyes? Ms. Orihime, and Sebas are fighting monsters. While I stayed to guard you." she said loudly.
The scent of sweat, blood, and a cheap perfume mixed should smell bad right? But it smelt like the nicest garden of beautiful roses.
Johan gently rubbed his head on Olivia’s soft long hair, taking her warm breath in, as if it was the greatest painkiller in the world.
Olivia didn’t speak again, softly rubbing Johan’s head with her other hand from behind, while wrapping her other arm around his waist.
"... I am glad you’re fine." Olivia smiled warmly, leaving all the questions out for some other time.
Johan leaned his head on Olivia’s soft breasts, shutting his eyes close.
"I promised you after all..." he said softly, almost in a whisper that only she could hear.
Olivia didn’t reply, just blushing while cleaning the tear leaking on her cheek. She had never felt this happy before, and, she never in her entire youth dreamed that Johan would be the man to make her happy.
She dropped her head too—over Johan’s, smiling softly.
"We will need to leave soon..." Johan sighed, all his fatigue vanishing with that sigh.
