CHAPTER 123: CHAPTER 123 YOUR RELATIVES HAVE ARRIVED

The first time is awkward, the second, familiar.

Although this kiss was still rather unskilled, at least it didn’t result in a bloody incident like last time.

Moreover, after being on the receiving end multiple times, Vera Wave had figured out a few things on her own. Mimicking his actions, her kisses started to seem quite adept.

There’s a saying, "a feeling hard to restrain," which accurately described Kris Cooper at this very moment.

Dazed for only a second, he unceremoniously pulled the young woman before him into an embrace, turning passivity into initiative.

Vera Wave didn’t resist; she simply surrendered, her mind just set on getting it over with quickly.

With my eyes closed, I tried to stay calm, thinking about this morning’s leftovers in his fridge. Should I take them for tomorrow’s breakfast?

However, what surfaced in my mind wasn’t his fridge, but his king-sized bed. I pictured a man and woman entangled on the pale grey sheets, panting, trembling, screaming—and the woman was me!

A buzz resonated in her head, and then she felt a warm gush from within her body. She almost lost her balance, instinctively taking a step back and ending up directly under the showerhead.

Warm water cascaded down, soaking her hair. Kris Cooper stepped forward and pulled her out from under the stream of water.

Her back pressed against the cool bathroom wall, and Vera Wave shivered involuntarily.

Sensing her movement, the man loosened his grip, panting slightly.

"Are you cold?"

She was too breathless to speak, merely shaking her head instinctively.

Brushing her damp hair from her face, Kris Cooper took a breath.

"Does it still hurt?"

Her mind was still a bit scrambled. She stared at him for a couple of seconds before his question registered, and then she shook her head.

As soon as I shook my head, I regretted it. I should have nodded; that would have given me an excuse for fewer such encounters in the future.

Just as she was about to speak, he lifted her chin again, trapping the words in her throat.

Kissing her, he used his other hand to shrug off his suit jacket.

His clothes were already soaked, and his tie was stiff and wouldn’t come loose easily.

He frowned in frustration, letting go of her to wrestle with his tie. Yanking it loose, he tossed it carelessly to the floor before closing in on her again, pressing Vera against the wall.

As his gaze swept to the floor by her feet, the hand reaching for her T-shirt froze.

"You damn girl, did you do this on purpose?"

The man’s voice was hoarse and tight, laced with sharp vexation.

His passionate attention had left Vera Wave flustered, her senses muddled and her emotions in turmoil. Hearing his sudden angry tone, she just looked up at him, bewildered and innocent.

"What?!"

Kris Cooper stared at her small face for a moment, then took a deep breath.

"Your ’relative’ has arrived!"

Vera Wave’s heart clenched. She quickly tugged her T-shirt, which had slipped off her shoulder, back into place and glanced frantically towards the door.

"Did someone knock?"

My relatives? I don’t remember having any... Could it be the Landlord, here for the rent? No, wait, rent isn’t due until next month!

Seeing she looked like she was about to bolt for the door, Kris Cooper quickly reached out and grabbed her wrist.

"You’re bleeding!"

Vera Wave looked down at herself and saw a large red stain on her grey sportswear. Color flooded her face, and she awkwardly tried to cover the spot with her hands.

What rotten luck! Of all times, why now? No wonder I felt something was off earlier. So, my period started! For him to see me in such a pathetic state—how utterly humiliating!

Kris Cooper seemed much calmer. Watching her flustered, pathetic state, his anger simply vanished.

"Quick, take off your wet clothes. Where are your things? I’ll get them."
