CHAPTER 165: CHAPTER 165: BULLYING THE WEAK, FEARING THE STRONG (PART 1)
Not until Bailey finished eating the apple did Kris Cooper withdraw his hand from its back, "Manager Xu, I’ll leave Bailey with you now."
Manager Xu quickly walked over, "Don’t worry, we’ve already arranged a dedicated caretaker for it. There won’t be any mistakes."
Understanding the value of a purebred, noble Arabian horse, Manager Xu was well aware.
Patting Bailey on the back and handing it over to the staff, Kris Cooper bid farewell to Manager Xu and drove away from the ranch.

Early the next morning, Vera Wave, as usual, came to work at the Advertising Department. While chewing on the sandwich she bought on the way, she connected her computer to the printer and printed out the proposal she completed yesterday.
Proofreading the document while still munching on her breakfast sandwich, satisfied there were no mistakes, she immediately put down her half-eaten sandwich and walked to the manager’s office door, giving it a knock.
Sam Davis lifted his head from the documents, seeing Vera Wave, he gently inquired.
"Is there anything you need?"
"The proposal you requested yesterday, I’ve completed it." Vera Wave stepped forward and handed the proposal to Sam Davis.
"So quick!" Sam Davis’s eyes showed a hint of surprise as he took it and flipped through it briefly. "Alright, leave it with me. I’ll take a detailed look at it later; you can get back to your work."
"Okay." Vera Wave left the office, grabbed her cup, and was about to get some hot water when she saw a woman wearing a blue suit with an Advertising Department badge briskly walk in.
"Director Lin!"
The staff, upon seeing her, politely greeted the woman addressed as Director Lin, but she didn’t respond, instead scanning the area until her gaze landed on Vera Wave, who was eating a sandwich.
"Do you have any work?"
Vera Wave hurriedly swallowed the bread in her mouth, "Not at the moment."
Since she had already submitted the proposal, she hadn’t received any new assignments.
"Come with me!"
Director Lin instructed and promptly turned around to leave.
Vera Wave had heard of Director Kate Palmer’s reputation in the Advertising Department, knowing she was a decisive and efficient woman; this was her first time seeing her in person.
Being her superior department head, Vera Wave dared not resist, clutching her sandwich and grabbing her bag, she quickly followed.
"Alright, we’ll be right over... I know she’s famous, but we’re paying her, so we’re her boss. Why is she acting so arrogant?" Kate Palmer was on a call as she walked, and after ending the call, she stopped by the elevator, noticing Vera Wave still munching on the sandwich, she frowned, "Is this a company or a café?!"
"Sorry, I didn’t have breakfast." Vera Wave quickly packed up the half sandwich and shoved it into her purse. "I just thought it wasn’t work time yet, so..."
"Work time?" Kate Palmer sneered at this, "We were shooting outdoor scenes late into the night yesterday. How come no one told us it was already work time!"
Vera Wave had no rebuttal, so she just swallowed the bread in her mouth hard.
They both entered the elevator; Kate Palmer pressed buttons for the 33rd floor and B1, then turned to hand some documents to Vera Wave.
"This one’s not very famous but has a big personality, so be prepared. No matter what, get all the required photos done before noon today; the post-production and printing teams are all waiting on her!"
Vera Wave was about to ask more when the elevator doors opened.
The 33rd floor, they arrived.
Kate Palmer stepped out of the elevator.
