CHAPTER 230: CHAPTER 231: GET MARRIED WHEN PREGNANT (1)
"I think..." Kris Cooper’s gaze flicked over the hand Vera Wave clutched. His fingers briefly brushed across the silk of the cheongsam she wore as he said seriously, "First, you should unbutton your dress a bit, and then place my hand there."
His suggestion was so formal that the implication didn’t occur to Vera at all; she simply nodded in agreement.
"Yes, you’re right! Why didn’t I think of that? You’re absolutely right; the stories always say that being half-undressed is the most enticing!"
Decisive, she immediately released his wrist and reached for the buttons on her cheongsam’s collar.
His fingers lightly grazed the smooth silk, his gaze lingering on her small face, so close to his. Kris’s hand on her waist instinctively tightened.
The frog button was a bit stiff. After struggling for a while, Vera still couldn’t undo it. Annoyed, she huffed.
"What’s wrong with this stupid button? I can’t even undo it... Hey, stop moving!" she protested as he pulled her tighter. Furrowing her brows, she looked up. "Don’t..."
As she lifted her face, her eyes met his.
His amber pupils, under the night’s lights, shone with a crystalline color, yet a fervent emotion burned within them.
At the top of her thigh, she felt a strange touch.
She glanced down instinctively. Realizing what it was, her heart clenched, her face flushed crimson, and she hurriedly tried to stand and leave.
But his arm held her firmly. She struggled, but remained rooted to the spot.
"Kris... Kris... you..."
Her heart suddenly pounded like rapid drumbeats, as if she’d been tossed into a furnace, and her throat began to feel parched.
"Let me help you."
Kris Cooper raised his hand and reached for her frog button.
"No... no..." She hurriedly grabbed his hand. "Can we... you know... stop acting?"
If they continued, could he handle it? Even if he could, she... she couldn’t go on.
Watching Vera squirm uncomfortably, unable to move freely, Kris Cooper merely smiled faintly.
"Why not?"
"I..." Vera couldn’t meet his gaze. "I... I need to go to the restroom!"
Wrenching free, she bolted into the restroom.
Sitting on the toilet, her heart still hammered wildly.
What do I do? What do I do? What do I DO?!
Vera clutched her hair.
If I go out, what if he wants to continue? What then? Or should I just stay in the restroom all night?
Lost in her dilemma, Kris Cooper knocked on the door.
"I... I have a stomachache!" she blurted out.
"Really? A stomachache?"
"Yes... really... Ah, it hurts... It hurts so much!" She faked a moan.
Stay calm, Vera. Stay calm and think this through.
CREAK!
The restroom door was pushed open.
Vera turned to see Kris Cooper walking in, an anxious expression on her face.
"What... what are you doing in here?"
Damn it, I forgot to lock the door!
"Didn’t you say you had a stomachache? I came in to check on you." Kris Cooper glanced at her long legs exposed by the slit of her cheongsam. "You don’t even lift the toilet lid when you use the restroom?"
"I... COUGH!" Vera coughed. "Can’t I just sit here and contemplate life? Who made a rule that you *have* to use the toilet when you’re in the restroom?!"
"That’s fair." Kris Cooper unbuttoned his shirt. "While you’re contemplating life, I’m going to take a shower. You don’t mind, do you?"
Vera immediately stood up. "Then I’ll go contemplate outside."
Sidling, she quickly moved towards him, intending to slip past.
