I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO
Chapter 259 - 260: A Sudden Surge of Turmoil
CHAPTER 259: CHAPTER 260: A SUDDEN SURGE OF TURMOIL
In her arms, the faint fragrance from the girl’s hair wafts into her nostrils.
Holding Vera Wave’s shoulder, Nathan Leafcastle’s arm unknowingly tightens slowly, drawing her into his embrace.
At first, Vera doesn’t feel anything unusual, but when her face touches his chest and she smells his scent, a violent churn suddenly rises in her chest.
"Ugh..."
She raises her hand to cover her mouth and quickly retreats from Nathan’s embrace.
"Vera?!"
Nathan rushes over with concern, holding her arm as Vera instinctively steps back, waving her hand at him.
She suppresses the discomfort in her chest, "I’m fine, just a little stomach discomfort."
"Do you need to see a doctor?"
"It’s nothing." She forces a faint smile, "Let’s go back first."
Nathan picks up the basin of clothes on the ground, and they go back downstairs to the floor where Grandma Wave is located. Nathan’s phone suddenly rings, and answering the call, he frowns after hearing a few words.
"Okay, I’ll be right over."
Seeing him end the call, Vera immediately smiles and says, "If you have business to attend to, go ahead."
Nathan puts away his phone, "I have some urgent matters and must leave immediately. I’ll visit Grandma when I have time, take good care of yourself."
"Don’t worry, I’m fine."
Watching her for a moment, he seems as if he wants to say something but ultimately holds back.
Turning around, he hurriedly leaves downstairs.
Watching his figure disappear down the stairs, Vera finally breathes a sigh of relief.
For some reason, whenever she’s around Nathan Leafcastle, she always feels a sense of overall discomfort.
Returning to Grandma Wave’s ward, the elderly lady is chewing on wontons, already starting to nod off. Seeing this, Vera quickly walks over to support Grandma Wave’s shoulders.
Together, they flatten the elderly lady’s bed, and Vera carefully covers her with the blanket, wipes the oil stain from her lips, and looking at the pale-faced elderly lady, her heart aches dully.
Once, Grandma was always an elegant woman, but now she’s fallen to this state, all because of Walter Wave’s estate collapse and her father’s death.
If someone really secretly sabotaged this matter, she absolutely won’t let that person go!
Thinking of this, Vera slowly clenches her fist, with her fingernails piercing her palm painfully.
In her pocket, the phone vibrates, and she quickly gathers her emotions, grabbing the phone and walking out of the ward.
"Miss Wave, I am Rowan Nichols. The revised script and the entire filming schedule have been sent to your email. Please familiarize yourself with the script over the next few days. If there’s nothing wrong, we’ll start shooting next week. If you have any opinions on the filming schedule, you can raise them, and I’ll rearrange accordingly."
"Okay, I’ll go back and review everything carefully."
Hanging up the phone, looking back at the sleeping Grandma Wave, Vera takes out some money and hands it to Sister Li, asking her to buy more food and supplies for Grandma, then hurries out of the hospital.
The script is still okay, but the shooting schedule is a big problem. She needs to arrange it carefully to avoid conflicts with her work.
On the way back to the old house, she checks her email diligently on the bus.
She had previously discussed with the director, and Rowan Nichols considered her work when arranging.
Most of the scenes are shot locally in the Imperial City, with only a few arranged in Eriwald, which are scheduled for weekends, not significantly conflicting with her work hours.
