Rowan Nichols came out and saw Vera Wave still helping the props team move items. He quickly walked over.

"Miss Wave, you don’t need to move these things. Hurry and get your makeup done, please."

Vera Wave helped the props team put the items down and then immediately walked into the Makeup Room.

At the makeup table, several people had already gathered around Irene Spencer.

The make-up artist was applying Irene’s makeup, an assistant stood nearby holding a cup of hot water for her, and Director Nichols was sitting beside them, explaining a scene. Vera walked over and took a seat, and another make-up artist began to work on her. Irene Spencer glanced sideways at Vera’s reflection in the mirror, her lips curling into a slight smile. "Vera, don’t worry," Director Song consoled Vera, then immediately began to explain the scene to both actresses. "Listen carefully to my explanation, relax, and then just take your time with the performance. Because there have been some slight changes to the script this time, I still need to discuss the character of the second female lead with both of you. She isn’t a purely villainous character, so Vera, you especially need to pay attention to finding the right balance."

"I understand. I read the script yesterday, and I feel that the second female lead is actually kind-hearted deep down; she’s just forced to act the way she does."

"Exactly," Director Song nodded in approval. "It seems you’ve thoroughly understood the script. Very good. In that case, let’s get straight into today’s scenes..."

While the two women were having their makeup done, Director Song explained the scenes they would be filming that day.

Irene Spencer finished her makeup first and got up to change into her costume.

A moment later, Vera Wave’s makeup was also complete. As she walked out of the Makeup Room, she saw Irene just emerging from the Changing Room.

Irene had a tall, graceful figure. Her long hair was styled into the fashionable curls of the 1930s, and her delicate fingers were adorned with dark red nail polish. She wore a white silk Cheongsam with a blue floral pattern, a light grey wool shawl draped over her shoulders. Every gesture exuded a captivating charm.

"Miss Spencer, you look stunning in the Cheongsam," Vera complimented her sincerely.

"It’s only because the dress is beautiful," Irene Spencer replied with a smile, reaching out to pat Vera’s shoulder. "Quickly, go get changed."

Vera went inside to change her clothes. Meanwhile, Irene Spencer walked into an adjoining room and took the script her assistant handed her. Just as she finished reviewing the current scene, she heard a wave of admiring exclamations from outside.

"Vera, you look so beautiful!"

Because Vera had been helping everyone out earlier, she had made a good impression on the crew. Several of the younger staff members had also become friendly with her. When they saw her emerge in her costume, they immediately exclaimed their praises.

Hearing this, Irene Spencer looked up just in time to see Vera stepping onto the stairs outside the door.

Due to their character roles, Vera’s costumes were designed to be far more vibrant and luxurious than Irene’s. After all, Vera played the mistress of a wealthy villain’s family, while Irene portrayed a member of the underground resistance. Although Irene’s character was the protagonist, her status within the story was not nearly as prominent as Vera’s.

Considering this contrast, their costumes were markedly different. Irene’s were predominantly in subdued colors, while Vera’s were designed for a striking, glamorous effect.
