At the top of Qinshan Base’s headquarters building, Chen Huaijiang watched the scene with interest. The arrival of the apocalypse meant that people no longer needed to hide the darkness in their hearts. He believed it would not be long before this world completely turned into a place where power was supreme.

As a New Human in a high position, Chen Huaijiang didn’t need to worry about resources. He had full access to Evolution Crystals that could be used to increase the level of New Humans.

Chen Huaijiang was admiring the scenery outside the window when the door to his office was suddenly pushed open by a young man, Chen Chaoyang. For some reason, the glasses he usually wore had been removed!

Seeing Chen Chaoyang’s arrival, Chen Huaijiang smiled, preparing to speak, but Chaoyang interrupted: "Dad, where is Ning Yu’er? Where did she go?"

"Cough cough, Chaoyang, you are also a New Human now..."

"I asked where Ning Yu’er is, tell me quick!"

Seeing his father trying to switch topics, Chen Chaoyang hastened to clarify.

"No, what I mean, Chaoyang, is that it’s fine if you like Ning Yu’er, but Ning Tianlang doesn’t seem to think highly of you!"

"I didn’t fall for her, I just have something to tell her!"

The construction site is on the Three Gorges Dam. Although construction hasn’t started yet, the design drawings have already been distributed to some important figures!

"That’s it?" Sitting in his chair, leaning sideways, Chen Huaijiang looked at him with a teasing look in his eyes and said.

Seeing Chen Huaijiang’s disbelief, Chaoyang quickly became anxious!

"That’s enough, you can’t see Ning Yu’er! Stop dreaming!"

"What, why, I’m going to find her!"

"Huh? You’re going to find her, but where are you going to find her? Ning Yu’er and her father already left Qinshan Base."

Upon hearing his father’s words, Chen Chaoyang felt his heart skip a beat.

"Left Qinshan Base, so do you know where she went? My dear old dad, please tell me!"

"Um..." Seeing his son like this, Chen Huaijiang couldn’t bear to tell him that Ning Yu’er had gone to Huachen Jiangtian. The span of one thousand miles between Hua City and the capital was enough to make the boy despair.

But as a father, he thought he should give Chen Chaoyang some hope. If this kid actually manages to win over Ning Yu’er, wouldn’t this mean that Ning Tianlang, the Level 2 New Human, would become a huge asset for him?

Chen Huaijiang said this while considering that Huachen Jiangtian was very far away. If Chen Chaoyang knew that Ning Yu’er had gone there, he would certainly despair. However, he didn’t know exactly where Ning Yu’er had gone, and so Chen Huaijiang could deceive him with ease.

Yindan Base was only a hundred kilometers from Qinshan Base, not far at all. Chen Chaoyang was his son, and he understood his character well. Chen Huaijiang didn’t believe his son would actually go to Yindan Base to find Ning Yu’er. This way, he gave him hope and calmed his restless heart!

Chen Huaijiang felt excellent about this cunning plan. However, he didn’t know that his seemingly innocent words would have what kind of consequences!

"Yindan Base, huh..."

Chen Chaoyang dully nodded his head. He felt his father was doing it on purpose! He silently glanced at Chen Huaijiang and proceeded to walk towards the door.

Bang!

Chaoyang shut the door heavily. Chen Huaijiang shook his head helplessly, then looked back at the scenery outside. His mood quickly improved.

This Qinshan Base would soon be his!

After leaving his father’s office, Chen Chaoyang clenched his fists tightly, cursing under his breath "Damn it!"

He was already lazy by nature and had no interest in fulfilling the promise of Evolution Crystals he had made to Tang Ye. However, he had no choice but to now.
