CHAPTER 1633: CHAPTER 1627: YONG’S SPEAR TECHNIQUE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD 1
"Ghost Head! Let’s move!"
Seeing the squad of soldiers approaching, Brother Shi shouted towards Ghost Head, then took the lead and ran toward the location of the soldiers.
Ghost Head on the other side quickly focused his attention and caught up with Brother Shi.
"Who are you...?"
The captain leading the squad of soldiers froze for a moment upon seeing the two, then asked. The news of the emergence of the Zombie King in the Third District had already reached every soldier’s ears. Normally, apart from the Fifth Company Seventh Squad currently being mobilized, no one else should appear in this area right now.
"I’m Luo Dianshi."
"I’m Rong Xiangfei."
Brother Shi glanced at the captain leading the squad as he responded. The emblem on the captain’s arm indicated he was a soldier from the Seventh Squad. Brother Shi quickly handed over the registry form that Yan Jiang had given him earlier.
"You’re new arrivals?"
"Yes."
The officer carefully examined the registry form. After noticing Ni Rang’s signature, all doubts disappeared.
"How did that zombie appear?"
A soldier asked the two. Brother Shi wasted no time and recounted in detail what had happened to Su Xiujun. After hearing their story, the squad of soldiers glanced at each other in astonishment, feeling completely blindsided and unaware of the situation.
"That zombie transformed from Su Xiujun?"
"Yes..."
"Wasn’t he fine earlier?"
Seeing the captain’s baffled expression, the two had no idea how to continue explaining.
Brother Shi looked toward Yong in the distance. That guy dusted off his clothes, jumped down from a broken pillar, and walked over to them. Despite several laser beams having narrowly missed him earlier, not a single one had grazed him. Apart from a few rips in his clothes, Yong showed no sign of injury.
"Alright, stop staring! Everyone, prepare for battle!"
The fighting continued intensely on the other side. Numerous buildings collapsed under Yan Jiang’s attacks, scattering debris everywhere. The captain understood that his squad couldn’t just sit and watch idly. After issuing a few commands to his subordinates, he donned an exoskeleton battle suit and ordered the other soldiers to aim their laser weapons at the battlefield where Yan Jiang and "Su Xiujun" were clashing. However, both combatants’ movements were so swift that the soldiers found their gun sights swinging back and forth, unable to keep up.
One soldier wheeled out a nearby idle heavy obliteration cannon and sat at the controls. But his eyes couldn’t follow the pace of the fight, let alone his hands. All he could do was sit there wide-eyed. Yong scanned the situation on both sides. Noticing the obliteration cannon, he seemed lost in thought—until a deafening blast jolted his focus!
Boom!
Yan Jiang descended from high above, his massive sword plunging heavily into the ground like the wrath of a divine being. The uneven terrain erupted, sending fragments of buildings soaring tens of meters high and filling the air with dust that obscured everyone’s vision!
Realizing his strike had once again failed to land, Yan Jiang was infuriated. He swung with force, lifting his sword once more with his right hand, and slashed horizontally with a ferocious arc. The blade sliced through the air, leaving a visible trail of white mist—and nearly grazed "Su Xiujun’s" head.
Hiss!
Yan Jiang’s brows furrowed tighter as the opponent’s guttural growl reverberated in his ears. When he turned to look, "Su Xiujun" had already vanished!
"Not good!"
Alarmed, Yan Jiang tried to glance behind him. Before he could fully turn around, he instinctively swung his sword back with fluid motion.
Crack!
Bam!
A muffled sound and a sharp snapping noise erupted. Yan Jiang felt a massive force slam into him, sending him hurtling backward uncontrollably. Unable to grip his weapon tightly, his sword slipped from his grasp. Behind him, the blade had embedded itself into "Su Xiujun’s" waist—but the creature showed no signs of pain. It glanced downward, then turned toward the flying Yan Jiang. It viciously yanked the blade from its own body!
Protruding tentacles sprouted from its torso, pushing Yan Jiang further back. Meanwhile, it grasped Yan Jiang’s massive sword with its wrinkled hands and hurled it at him like a thrown dart!
"Get off me!"
Still tumbling backward, Yan Jiang roared furiously, working to regain his balance. He gritted his teeth and gripped "Su Xiujun’s" tentacles tightly, tearing them apart with brute force! Then, as the flying sword approached him, he reached out to catch it.
But the residual force from the tentacles had not yet dissipated. As he caught his weapon, the momentum further sped up his backward flight. He collided into multiple stone pillars, and only after smashing a distant flowerbed into ruin did his motion finally stop.
As Yan Jiang stood again, his exoskeleton battle suit showed severe distortion in multiple parts. A large gash, roughly forty centimeters long, stretched across his chest where his own sword had struck. Blood trickled from the wound.
Standing shakily, Yan Jiang’s condition seemed dire. He gasped heavily, his labored breaths audible even through his helmet. Despite appearing weakened, his expression was one of overwhelming fury?
"Ugh... Arghhhh!"
As if confirming everyone’s thoughts, Yan Jiang suddenly let out a roar—a primal scream like a beast forced into a corner unleashing its ferocity. The murderous intent radiating from him made the surroundings feel several degrees colder!
After his rage-filled shout, Yan Jiang went berserk. Grabbing the torn section of his chestplate where his weapon had left its mark, he pulled hard. The supposedly indestructible A-grade exoskeleton battle suit shredded like paper under his brute strength!
He forcibly discarded the exoskeleton suit along with the inner layers of clothing beneath it. His military uniform was soaked in dark, blood-red stains, its torn fragments revealing his startlingly bulging muscles!
"Let’s go!"
Yan Jiang roared toward "Su Xiujun," his fighting spirit surging skyward. Without waiting for a response, he lunged forward like a blur of motion, closing the gap in an instant!
In that split second as he approached, his hand seized "Su Xiujun’s" face and hoisted it into the air. The next moment—bang!—"Su Xiujun" was slammed into the ground with force!
"Die!"
Yan Jiang raised his other hand, his fingers clenched into a solid fist, and began pummeling "Su Xiujun." Black-and-yellow fluids splattered in every direction! Yan Jiang’s movements were savage—punch after relentless punch. The ground shook with every blow, fissures spreading incessantly!
"What power!"
The soldiers watching from afar lowered their rifles. At this point, their worries seemed to dissipate entirely. They could only wait patiently for Yan Jiang to secure victory.
