I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World
Chapter 1777 - 1771: Are You Afraid and Terrified?
CHAPTER 1777: CHAPTER 1771: ARE YOU AFRAID AND TERRIFIED?
At this moment, Tang Ye’s smile had completely disappeared from his face, replaced by an intense murderous intent. Even his tone was filled with dense malice! The overwhelming pressure felt as if it could crush a person’s heart!
Although he asked a question, Tang Ye didn’t actually give the other party a chance to answer. As soon as he finished speaking, his hand, which was gripping the other’s hair, began to tighten. The other party couldn’t resist at all. The upper half of the perfectly-figured enchanting woman’s body was pulled down, and a crisp snapping sound was heard, seemingly from her spine. Looking again, the upper half of the Spider Woman’s waist had been forcibly bent by Tang Ye to ninety degrees!
At this moment, all of Tang Ye’s accumulated anger erupted. He quickly raised one hand, an elbow strike crushing the woman’s arm into her abdomen!
After a dull "thud," all six of the spider legs collapsed with a "snap," and the Spider Woman slumped directly to the ground!
"Get up and play!" Roaring, Tang Ye punched down again, then a second punch, a third, and a fourth!
Tang Ye relentlessly pummeled the opponent’s abdomen with powerful blows! Each punch, like a missile, forced the ground to sink a bit, and the dense cracks widened, quickly spreading across the entire city, causing all buildings in a radius of nearly a hundred kilometers to lean towards Tang Ye.
A large amount of murky water began to seep from the ground, slowly engulfing the Spider Woman’s body. As Tang Ye delivered the final punch, her completely still body exploded like a nuclear bomb, forming a mushroom-shaped black cloud of black ash hovering above!
Soon, Tang Ye, having dealt with the Spider Woman, walked out from within the drifting black dust, his gaze sweeping around. He quickly found the fleeing doll White Tiger and with a swift movement appeared in front of it.
"Your turn."
Seeing the suddenly appearing Tang Ye, the White Tiger let out a whimper, clearly aware of the gap between itself and Tang Ye. It chose not to resist, but instead lay down of its own accord. However, Tang Ye ignored this, stepping forward and grabbing the fur on its head, pressing down with force, followed by a knee strike. In the next second, countless tentacles grew crazily from its neck, instantly dividing its large body into several parts!
The black dust exploded again. Having dealt with the doll White Tiger, Tang Ye quickly looked behind him. In that instant, he sensed something unusual. Turning around, he saw that the space behind him had twisted into a vortex, where shadows were distinct, resembling countless transparent maggots squirming slowly before him.
"What’s going on?"
Tang Ye couldn’t figure out what was happening, full of doubt in his heart. It wasn’t long before something suddenly appeared at the center of the vortex. Tang Ye immediately became vigilant. The tentacles on his body, like venomous snakes, coiled around him, ready to attack at any moment. Soon, something was spat out from the center of the vortex. It was a person, a woman, covered in an unknown slime, looking extremely disgusting.
"Is this..." After seeing the woman’s face, Tang Ye was momentarily stunned. It was Lu Xiaojie, although her manner of appearance was somewhat...
Once expelled, the distorted space quickly returned to calm. Lu Xiaojie appeared weak, lying on her side on the ground motionless, with only a slight movement in her abdomen proving she was still alive.
Tang Ye hurriedly walked over and gently shook her.
"Lu Xiaojie? Are you okay?"
At Tang Ye’s call, Lu Xiaojie quickly opened her eyes, casting a weak glance at Tang Ye, then shook her head. She struggled to stand but looked as if she had just had her kidneys removed, with sweat all over her forehead, unable to support herself with her palm against the ground. Seeing this, Tang Ye helped her up.
"Are you alright?"
Lu Xiaojie pointed weakly to a wall formed by a giant foot and said feebly, "Help me over there... I need to rest."
"Okay." Tang Ye said nothing, nodding and helping her to the spot she had indicated. Upon arriving, Lu Xiaojie sat down without concern for the large puddle of water on the ground, raising her head and taking deep breaths, like someone finally surfacing after holding their breath underwater for five to six minutes.
Seeing her state, Tang Ye couldn’t help but furrow his brows. With each breath, her neck protruded with black veins as thick as earthworms, only to vanish the next second. He was a bit worried but, not being a doctor, had no choice but to watch her.
After about four or five minutes, Lu Xiaojie seemed to feel better, stretching her legs and struggling to stand up from the ground.
"Are you... okay now?" Tang Ye asked worriedly, as he still needed her for what was next, and it would be troublesome if something happened to her now.
In response to Tang Ye’s concern, Lu Xiaojie merely waved her hand, indicating she was alright.
Tang Ye breathed a sigh of relief. Soon, after recollecting what had just transpired, he sincerely thanked her, saying, "Thank you."
"Thank you for what? I suppose it’s also for my own sake, not entirely for you."
"Anyway, if I had kept the previous state, I could have been in grave danger now."
"Haha..." Hearing Tang Ye’s words, Lu Xiaojie forced a laugh, teasingly asking, "What? Feeling the dread of death?"
"Huh?" Tang Ye was taken aback, then quickly shook his head at her. He wasn’t trying to maintain a tall, invincible image in her mind. He didn’t even know what he was living for, without a purpose, like a wandering soul, merely existing for the sake of being alive, with no attachments in death.
Perhaps, a long time ago, he wanted to find an old acquaintance, but that desire had faded over time. No matter how strong he might be, he’s not a god and can’t control what might occur in this world. The person he sought might have died long ago, or even if alive, might have long forgotten him.
Upon entering the Dangerous Sanctuary City, he had seen soldiers crush grenades to perish alongside more zombies. At that moment, he had some resentment over why he had become a zombie because, at least as a human, he could find meaning in life.
Perhaps one small relief was his ability to experience the same emotional fluctuations as ordinary humans, finding interest in some things while finding others too troublesome, even considering "escape" as an option.
If there were a choice, offering him the option to be either a god or a human, he would have decisively chosen to be a god in the past because he had never been one.
But now, Tang Ye would choose to possess divine abilities while retaining the rich emotions of a human.
More than power, he feared completely losing his humanity and turning into a cold machine. Living without the feeling of being alive was what terrified him the most, or so he believed.
