CHAPTER 1876: CHAPTER 1868: YOUR GRANDPA IS COMING

The officer’s tone was as if he were talking about something ordinary, but every soldier who heard this turned pale. No one understood better than them what "reporting to Building Twenty" meant.

This was a punishment! Although it wasn’t fatal, everyone who had reported there commented that spending those days in Building Twenty was worse than dying!

Though no one knew exactly what happened inside, no one wished to find out for themselves!

Following the officer’s words, the soldiers’ expressions turned serious, no longer daring to act big.

The robbers driving the "Scavenger" were nothing more than a bunch of petty bank thieves. If they let them escape, it would be impossible for the soldiers to explain.

And so, the firepower on the defensive wall intensified. Under the relentless bombardment of countless laser beams, the armor added to the "Scavenger" started to deform, twist, and tear apart. The little robbers inside dared not stick even a hair out the window in the time that followed!

"Damn it! I **** you!"

The leader of the robbers inside roared angrily. Listening to the laser bombardment exploding on the "Scavenger," the fear in his heart began to spread!

If he could survive this time, he swore he would kill the bastard who sold him the breach device!

Unlike the nervousness in the car, Ryle found it all very amusing.

"This is really fun, buddy. If we manage to get out of here, will he share some Yajin with us, or... will he choose to keep it all to himself?" he said to Chen Chaoyang, who glanced at him, his expression masked and unreadable.

After about ten seconds, Chen Chaoyang suddenly asked, "Do you plan to escape?"

"Heh heh." Ryle chuckled. He thought it amusing, and was more interested to see what choices the robbers would make next?

If it came to it, Ryle might even help them, eager to see what these robbers would do once they secured their own safety?

"Boring." Seeing Ryle only smiling without speaking, Chen Chaoyang snorted disdainfully. This Zombie King coveted humans and was also intensely curious about them.

The robbers in the car were still anxious, while the fully armed soldiers at the front had already begun to advance in an orderly fashion. The robbers could neither get out of the vehicle nor stay in it, only able to watch helplessly.

With the situation critical, no one noticed the two leisurely guys on the side, nor did anyone see Ryle quietly opening the car window beside him. He was ready to help these unfortunate robbers, but just as he opened it a bit, an unexpected event occurred!

Squeak, squeak—

A strange noise came from the rear, causing the soldiers trying to encircle the "Scavenger" to halt. The officer in charge also felt puzzled, looking around but finding nothing unusual.

"What’s that sound?" he muttered to himself, equally baffled soldiers around him.

The officer’s brows furrowed deeply. He glanced at the Scavenger in front, suddenly realizing something and quickly turned his head!

The odd noise came from within the defensive wall!

"Not good!" His face changed dramatically! He roared toward the soldiers in front, and this shout threw them into disarray. One by one, they thought something had happened on the officer’s end and turned their guns around to point rearward. But in the next second, it seemed they all saw something unbelievable, standing there slack-jawed!

The nearly forty-meter-high defensive wall inexplicably began to swell! The outer H-steel coating separated from the internal structure, then slowly tore open fissures, revealing the reinforced concrete inside!

The previously launched cylindrical breach projectile had somehow flattened out, like an empty soda can crumpled carelessly.

Next, the H-steel coating buckled in massive chunks. The wall, once gleaming fiercely under the sun and exuding a hard, cold light, reverted to its state ten years ago!

It was a mottled concrete high wall!

Not only had the outer H-steel coating been torn and shed, but even the reinforced concrete inside was slowly loosening, softening!

Suddenly, another loud noise erupted. The inward-facing side of the defensive wall abruptly broke apart! A powerful suction was generated, dragging the uncomprehending soldiers along with the officer into it uncontrollably!

BOOM!

Roughly two or three seconds later, another massive explosion occurred! Accompanied by a shockwave, countless soldiers were blown away, though fortunately without fatal injuries.

Inside the "Scavenger," everyone was stunned by the scene. They had a good guess as to why this was happening. It was mostly because of the breach device. But the effect was unbelievably terrifying!

Although it didn’t result in any casualties among the soldiers, if it had been used during a zombie siege, the collapse of the defensive wall would have maimed or killed many soldiers!

The leader of the robbers was overjoyed, just moments ago enraged for being scammed, having spent over two hundred Yajin for this nonsense! But now, seeing the breach device in action, he felt even a further two hundred Yajin would be worth it!

"Great opportunity! Brothers, charge!"

This upheaval didn’t cause casualties but left the soldiers bewildered. They were still trying to comprehend why the defensive wall collapsed, and seizing upon their confusion, the robber’s cohort in the driver’s seat had already started the now battered "Scavenger," roaring forward!

The defensive wall loomed nearer; getting past it meant freedom awaited!

Excitement flushed the robber leader’s face, relishing in the disappearing danger and clutching tens of thousands of Yajin—the happiest things in the world!

Imagining the beautiful life that awaited, he felt he might nearly pop an aneurysm from excitement!

"Quick, quick, quick! Get up, block them!" The officer scrambled to his feet, roaring at the soldiers to secure the time to obstruct the bank robbers. But before the soldiers could form a position, the massive "Scavenger" loomed overwhelmingly close!

Ah! No!

Crack, crack!

Mere seconds later, a chorus of soldiers’ screams erupted with the sound of countless blades slicing through exosuits, plunging the scene into chaos!

"Grandsons, your granddaddy’s coming through!"
