CHAPTER 2011: CHAPTER 2004: RETREAT
Her words seemed comforting, and Tang Ye himself also felt somewhat relaxed. Looking at her face, he reached out and pulled her into an embrace.
"Just make sure to stay safe."
"I’m fine, don’t worry about me. You take care of yourself too." She let Tang Ye hold her, her tone gentle, making Tang Ye feel like he was wrapped in velvet.
Tang Ye didn’t say anything more, and Ning Yu’er couldn’t see his expression. Only he knew that he was looking out the window, listening to the constant blaring of alarms. He felt it; her delicate, boneless hand caressed his waist...
Yet he remained unmoved by her fragrance.
And as she reached for something behind him, he still remained unmoved.
Soon, the needle pierced the skin on his back, stabbing fiercely into his flesh, injecting something rapidly into his body!
At this moment, Tang Ye released her, and under her gaze, he quietly pulled out the syringe embedded in himself.
"What is this?"
Ning Yu’er’s face bore no smile. With a flat tone, she said, "Something to make you sleep well."
"Why?"
"I’m actually more afraid than you are..."
"So you want me to stand by and watch?" With the liquid from the syringe steadily seeping into his body, Tang Ye gradually lost sensation in his body.
"If you’re willing, I can take you along, leave everything behind and soar away..."
"I’m sorry, that might not be the world I envisioned."
"..." Tang Ye remained silent for a few seconds. It was only at this moment that he confirmed Ning Yu’er’s stance, but he could no longer express anything, only sighing silently in his heart.
"I understand, but if you intervene, I absolutely won’t stand back and watch."
"Alright, have a good sleep. When you wake up, it will all be over. Trust me, okay?"
Tang Ye opened his mouth to speak, but the mysterious potion’s effect took hold quickly. His mouth opened, yet he couldn’t make a sound.
All the cells in his body were falling into hibernation, his consciousness slowly becoming clouded.
Until the very end.
The world before his eyes was shrouded in darkness!
Just as Tang Ye was about to collapse, Ning Yu’er hurriedly stepped forward, supporting him with her hand. She gave him a complex glance, sighed softly, and then looked towards the door. The handsome men and beautiful women who had come in with Tang Ye were still there.
Ning Yu’er nodded to the four of them. Without showing any expressions, they came in and together lifted Tang Ye, quickly heading downstairs.
Their movements were swift and efficient. After taking Tang Ye downstairs, they arrived at the front of the transport aircraft. Everything was well-coordinated as they opened the hatch, placed Tang Ye inside, closed the hatch, and took off!
It was seamless without any delay!
Ning Yu’er then walked out, watching the transport aircraft roar into the sky, taking Tang Ye away. She lingered for a while until large flocks of red-feathered birds started appearing in the sky, and then she stepped away from the place.
...
On the south side of the Cloud Gorge Base, within the temporarily established safety zone, a soldier hurriedly carried a box larger than himself in the direction where Su Sigui was located.
"Mayor, everything is ready." Before entering the command tent, his voice was already heard from outside. Inside, Su Sigui, who was standing in front of the projection, turned back to glance and then gestured to the two soldiers beside him.
The two understood immediately, turned, and walked towards the soldier, taking the box from his hand and placing it on the long table behind Su Sigui. Then they returned to their positions.
Su Sigui said nothing, silently shutting off the projection, coming to the long table, reaching out to slowly open the box. Inside were rows of neatly arranged "metal plates"!
These "metal plates," made of unknown materials, seemed to emit a colorful glow upon inspection. Yet, upon closer examination, there was nothing, mysterious and wondrous, giving an extraordinary feeling.
In little time, Su Sigui picked up one of the "metal plates," then grabbed a second one, combining them together with a light "ding," followed by the third plate, fourth plate, piecing them together one by one.
There was no expression on Su Sigui’s face, and the surrounding soldiers dared not breathe too loudly, just watching Su Sigui’s movements. The only sound left was the crisp noise of "metal plate" and "metal plate" piecing together, making the atmosphere very tense.
It wasn’t long before the metal plates in Su Sigui’s hand had formed something that resembled a chest plate. She calmly put it on and continued assembling, without uttering a word.

The metal plates in the box became fewer and fewer, and the soldiers wanted to be attentive, but seeing Su Sigui’s expressionless face, perhaps thinking she was contemplating something, they hesitated for a moment and ultimately gave up.

Her speed was neither fast nor slow. Soon, another piece of armor took shape in her hands. However, just as she was about to put it on, seemingly prompted by a thought, she set aside the assembled armor, turned her head, and looked at an officer nearby with heavy breathing.
"Mayor..." The officer momentarily panicked under her gaze. This was a Level 9 New Human! The pressure from just a glance made him unable to control his heartbeat!
"Notify everyone to evacuate from here immediately in five minutes." Her tone was flat but highly puzzling.
"Evacuate? Why the sudden..."
"If you don’t want to die, do as I say."
Su Sigui offered no explanation, the officer was startled and sensibly asked no further questions.
"Go!" instructing the soldiers, the officer led them all out in a run. Soon, the outside bustle resumed, with the officer’s robust voice calling out, the soldiers quickly assembled and orderly boarded the transport aircraft.
With the full power output of the thrusters, the sky resounded with the roaring as several such transport aircraft sped through.
Those remaining, including Su Sigui, did not watch. She, as usual, didn’t hurry, but unlike before, she did not continue assembling the mysterious armor. Instead, she quickly removed what was on her, gradually lightening herself, then turned around, taking the flesh and blood sword from the table, inserted it into the scabbard at her back, while her other hand simultaneously gripped the hilt!
Just like that, she dragged the long sword silently, exiting the tent. In the distance on another street, Chen Chaoyang, with Hatred in name, was similarly cradling his bone blade, inching slowly towards where Su Sigui was.
