I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World

CHAPTER 80: CHAPTER 77: APPETIZER_1
"Dad, why aren’t you coming up yet?"
"You go ahead, daddy will be up soon!" Ning Tianlang said to Ning Yu’er.
"Why?"
At this moment, a soldier came to Ning Tianlang and reported, "Sir, we have detected Level 2 zombies in the approaching horde!"
Ning Tianlang glanced at the soldier and then turned back to his daughter.
"Alright, don’t worry, you go first. Daddy will meet you at Qinshan Base later, just go."
Whoosh!
Without waiting for Ning Yu’er to respond, Ning Tianlang closed the gate, strapped on Divine Armor No.1 to his waist, and started walking towards the danger zone.
"Before I go- anything I can do to help, I will. I’m sorry~"
The helicopter behind him gently ascended, carrying countless soldiers and Ning Yu’er, who watched him silently from the window. The aircraft then roared skywards, heading towards Hua City.
As the helicopter ascended into the sky, Tang Ye began to tremble. Among the passengers inside, he knew the person he wished to see was there. However, he wasn’t sure if she could see him. He didn’t want her to see him fighting alongside the horde, attacking the safe zone.
"No!"
Tang Ye roared, advancing valiantly amidst the gunfire rain, hoping that Ning Yu’er was still inside the safe zone. That would increase his chances of seeing her again.
Inside the safe zone, Chen Chaoyang called out at the departing helicopter carrying Ning Yu’er: "Ning Yu’er! Ning Yu’er! Can you hear me? I have a message for you... Wait! Don’t go!"
"Damn it!"
Watching the helicopter disappear, Chen Chaoyang swore loudly. When he entered the safe zone, he began looking for Ning Yu’er but couldn’t find her. Ning Yu’er had already been moved by Ning Tianlang into the command post. Despite being both a rich and high-ranking official’s son, his current status still didn’t allow him to enter. The moment he tried to enter, soldiers pointed their guns at his head!
A helpless Chen Chaoyang could only wait for an opportunity, but he didn’t expect the hordes to attack unexpectedly. The hardest part was that by the time he finally spotted Ning Yu’er, she was already flying away! Thinking of Tang Ye’s situation, chills ran down his spine.
Facing the tightly woven mass of zombies outside, he couldn’t help but think that Tang Ye’s terrifying form was amongst them, watching him.
"Damn it! I gotta go!"
Knowing there was no chance he could deliver Tang Ye’s "farewell" message, he hurriedly hopped onto another helicopter. Looking out at the soldiers forming a defensive line, Chen Chaoyang’s eyes filled with sympathy.
"So many zombies... I hope you guys can make it out... May God bless you!"
As the helicopter carrying Ning Yu’er disappeared, Tang Ye felt oddly calm.
"Ah, forget it..."
Even though Tang Ye had given up in his heart, seeing the fierce light in the soldiers’ eyes only fueled his resolve.
"It’s all your fault! You’re all blocking me!"
Bullets showered onto Tang Ye. His defense was stronger than he had imagined. Those bullets didn’t enter his flesh but were caught on the surface of his skin!
Leading the charge at the forefront, Tang Ye drew the majority of the soldiers’ firepower. He wielded his ten bone spikes like a grim reaper’s scythes. The bodies of his fallen comrades, already two meters high, were quickly piling up behind him. The three Speed Type Zombies that Tang Ye had summoned earlier had already been killed on the road.
Roar!
Moving like a shadow, Tang Ye used a "Z" shaped trajectory to dodge the incoming bullets. When he got within a few meters of a soldier, he struck with his bone claw and flung the soldier into the air. When the soldier fell, he was dead on impact!
At the same time, Tang’s ten bone spikes were causing havoc among the soldiers. Some unfortunate ones were caught and, after a miserable shriek, their bodies started to shrivel up.
Roar!
Tang Ye let out another terrifying roar that sounded like a demon’s cry. In his mind, all attention was focused on the zombies behind him. Suddenly, countless zombies began to roar and lifted their counterparts, using them as meat shields to surge forward!
Before him, a defensive line made up of hundreds of soldiers was thrown into disarray due to Tang Ye’s onslaught. After killing another soldier, Tang Ye focused his gaze on Yang Hong, whose military rank revealed him as a leader.
With blood-red killing intent in his eyes, Tang Ye charged directly at him.
But Yang Hong was no coward. Facing Tang Ye, the Level 2 zombie didn’t show any fear, instead he pulled out his bayonet, ready for battle.
"Come on!"
The determination of a soldier reverberated in his voice. He advanced, aiming his bayonet at the charging Tang Ye.
Sizzle~
A harsh friction sound rang out as Yang Hong’s body was sent flying, his bayonet stripped from his hands and turned into iron mud by Tang Ye’s bone spikes.
"Not bad! I respect you. But today, you must die! Hehe~" Tang Ye said hoarsly. His words were slightly muffled, and Yang Hong couldn’t understand them. He simply thought Tang Ye was making a zombie noise.
Struggling to get up, Yang Hong saw no opportunity coming his way. Taking advantage of his moment of weakness, Tang Ye transformed into a shadow, leaving a long streak visible in his wake. His bone spikes reformed into an arm and lunged at Yang Hong, prepared to land a fatal hit.
Yang Hong closed his eyes in silence. He knew that even if he wasn’t killed by this Level 2 zombie, he would still succumb to the endless sea of corpses. Two days ago, Ning Tianlang had called a meeting, saying that there was an approaching horde and that the safe zone needed to be evacuated promptly. But with so many people and supplies, it was impossible to complete the evacuation in just two days. Although some survivors and supplies had been shipped to Hua City Qinshan Base in batches, everything had not yet been transported away.
Finally, Ning Tianlang proposed a plan involving the sacrifice of some soldiers to stall the horde. While the remaining survivors and a small group of soldiers were evacuated, these heroes would unfortunately lose their lives here. Upon hearing this, Yang Hong was livid. He was the person least willing to see soldiers sacrificed, but he had no idea of the scale of the horde and underestimated the enemy.
In the meeting, after his several objections, Ning Tianlang changed his stance, saying that if the number of zombies was not large, they might consider full evacuation. But if there were many zombies, they would have to sacrifice some soldiers for the greater good. Looking at it now, Yang Hong realized how naive he had been, unable to see the bigger picture.
The number of zombies exceeded his imagination. From the moment the horde attacked, he made a vow to share the fate of the soldiers.
The zombies rushing from all sides were increasing in number. It seemed like the previous onslaught was only just an appetizer. Evolved zombies were beginning to appear within the horde. The small and agile Speed Type Zombies or the tall and burly Strength Type Zombies stood out amongst the sea of undead.
As Tang Ye’s sharp claw inched closer to Yang Hong’s heart, a black skeletal mecha arm appeared and blocked his strike!
