At that moment, it coiled around a demon and tossed it into a gaping maw that blotted out the sky!

A sound that made their scalps crawl echoed as the demon—several yards tall—was swallowed whole!

Then, in the next instant, it was spat back out.

The mangled corpse and severed limbs crashed onto the ground, forming yet another deep crater. The demon, once towering in stature, now seemed pitifully small before the gargantuan shadow—not even enough to fill the gaps between its teeth.

Witnessing this horrifying spectacle, even the elder gulped audibly.

"Gulp..."

The young man’s face had turned deathly pale, his voice trembling as he transmitted his thoughts.

"That… that thing is actually a toad?!"

No one responded. The surroundings were deathly silent.

Even Qing Yin Xianyun, usually composed and aloof, had gone pale, her delicate fists clenched tightly within her sleeves!

Before that sky-obscuring toad, even the demons were insignificant. The three of them were like mere grains of sand, their hearts utterly consumed by fear and awe.

The old man, though more experienced, wasn’t faring much better.

As the ground continued to tremble beneath them, his wrinkled face drained of all color!

The sky-obscuring toad continued its advance, each step sending tremors through their numbed feet.

Cowering behind a demon corpse and staring up at the monstrous figure that reached into the heavens, Qing Yin Xianyun felt her own insignificance like never before, her knuckles turning white from how tightly she clenched her fists.

This creature was not something the three of them could ever hope to challenge.

At this moment, Qing Yin Xianyun wasn’t just gripped by fear—her eyes were filled with regret as she remained frozen behind the demon corpse, unable to move.

Had she known such a monster lurked here, she would never have come to investigate.

Even the once-proud genius of Lanxing now stood rigid with terror.

Just as her nerves were stretched to their limit, the monstrous toad suddenly halted its steps. Its enormous tongue, hovering mid-air, also stopped moving—as if it had sensed something.

A single glance was all it took—Qing Yin Xianyun’s beautiful face turned as pale as frost, her delicate frame drenched in cold sweat.

Without a second’s hesitation, she gritted her teeth and tore open a rift in space!

The three of them vanished into it instantly!

When they emerged again, they collapsed onto the deck of their flying vessel.

Qing Yin Xianyun panted heavily, her clear eyes filled with lingering dread.

Her two companions lay sprawled on the ground, gasping for breath, their backs soaked in sweat, their heartbeats loud enough to echo across the deck.

Seeing the three of them appear out of nowhere, looking as if they had just run ten marathons, Yi Feng frowned in confusion and stood up.

"What happened? Did you really run into some powerful demon?"

But they ignored him entirely. Instead, they scrambled to their feet and immediately steered the flying vessel away at breakneck speed, not even pausing to catch their breath.

The urgency in their movements made it seem like their backsides were on fire.

After what felt like an eternity of frantic flying, the black mist remained as silent as the dead of night. Only then did the three at the stern finally exhale in relief.

"Whew…"

The two men collapsed onto the deck again, looking utterly drained, as if they had been pushed to their limits. Qing Yin Xianyun was slightly better off, but even she wore the expression of someone who had narrowly escaped death, sitting down quietly in deep thought.

Yi Feng watched them, utterly baffled, and curiously approached.

"What’s going on? Did we take a wrong turn somewhere?"

Qing Yin Xianyun lifted her gaze at his voice, her clear eyes still shadowed with fear.

"We have to detour around the area ahead. We’ll need to find another path into the depths of the Black Domain."

Seeing the tension on her face, Yi Feng grew even more puzzled.

"Won’t that waste time?"

The young man, overhearing, walked over and snapped impatiently.

"What do you know? We just ran into a toad! We had no choice but to change course!"

Yi Feng blinked in confusion.

"A toad? What does that have to do with anything?"

The young man opened his mouth but then seemed to recall something, his face twisting in horror before his legs gave out and he slumped to the ground.

"That wasn’t just any toad… It was a colossal, monstrous toad!"

"An existence like that is beyond anything we could ever hope to face. You wouldn’t believe it even if I told you. If you ever encounter something like that… you won’t live to tell the tale."

The elder also spoke up, his voice trembling as he kept glancing warily back at the black mist.

"Thanks to your decisive action, my lord, otherwise we would have surely perished in this Black Domain. Who would have thought the Demon Clan harbored such a terrifying existence? This journey has been far more perilous than we imagined..."

With these few words, the three of them wore grave expressions, their hearts shrouded in a heavy gloom. They urged the flying vessel to speed away, their initial confidence upon entering the Black Domain now replaced by sheer dread.

Yi Feng glanced back, only to see the black mist lying still and silent.

From the looks of it, there didn’t seem to be any signs of a fearsome presence.

Skeptical yet unable to dismiss the possibility, he could only reluctantly let the flying vessel carry him further away.

Lying on the deck, he murmured to himself, curiosity stirring within him about that colossal toad.
