I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality
Chapter 384: Invitation
In the core laboratory of the Infernal Sulfur plane, Jie Ming had just finished calibrating a complex rune array designed to observe microscopic spatial folds.
He inspected it once more, nodded in satisfaction at the smoothly operating formation, and was about to resume his study of new spatial knowledge when the Magicnet terminal on his person vibrated with a distinctive frequency.
Glancing down, he saw it was a communication request from Viola.
Though mildly surprised, Jie Ming accepted immediately.
The light screen unfolded, revealing Viola’s lovely face brimming with excitement. Her silver-gray hair had clearly just been tended; it fell in especially soft, lustrous waves.
“Good afternoon, Junior Brother Jie Ming!” she greeted with boundless energy.
“Good afternoon, Senior Sister Viola,” Jie Ming replied, a calm smile on his face as usual. “Is this about purchasing more ‘Imaginary Element’? I believe you still have some left from last time.”
“No, no.” Viola waved a hand dismissively and got straight to the point. “One of my friends wants to meet you and discuss your Imaginary Element.”
“Your friend?”
Jie Ming blinked, not particularly interested at first. After all, back when Grandmaster Anton Buchanan advanced, plenty of people had wanted to speak with him.
Viola saw through him instantly. “This friend is different. The law she studies might actually help you increase your own law mastery.”
“Oh?” Jie Ming’s interest was piqued; he leaned forward slightly. “Your friend? Discussing Imaginary Element? Specifically…?”
Viola explained, “Here’s the thing. I previously discovered that your Imaginary Element has a very peculiar benign guiding effect on living organisms, so I took some back to research its potential in magical-plant cultivation.
It just so happened that I remembered a friend of mine who is an absolute authority in biological cultivation and life-energy fields, so I went to her for discussion.”
She paused, her tone tinged with the thrill of discovering a new continent. “After the two of us studied your Imaginary Element together, she was utterly shocked! She found that a certain tendency contained within your Imaginary Element actually resonated strongly with the core law she herself researches! That’s why she very much hopes to meet you in person and learn more about this Imaginary Element.”
Hearing this, something stirred in Jie Ming’s heart. Curiosity rising, he asked, “Resonance and connection? Senior Sister, could you tell me what law your friend studies?”
“The Law of Spirituality,” Viola answered frankly.
The Law of Spirituality!
Jie Ming’s brows lifted involuntarily; in an instant, he understood why the other party was so interested.
In the world of immortal cultivation, Spiritual Qi was the foundational particle of all things.
Yet it was called “Spiritual” Qi for a reason.
Though the substance itself possessed no intelligence, the very concept of “spirituality” embedded within it pointed toward the intelligence of living beings, the souls of all things, and even higher levels of spiritual sublimation and the enlightenment of wisdom.
The “bestowal of intelligence” techniques often spoken of in the immortal world, as well as the indestructible “true spirit” possessed by exalted cultivators—all were supreme manifestations of this concept of spirituality.
For someone who specialized in the Law of Spirituality to keenly detect the intrinsic tendency within Spiritual Qi that promoted life evolution, nourished the divine soul, and inspired wisdom was perfectly natural.
After all, this touched upon one of the most essential, most core properties of Spiritual Qi itself!
Jie Ming lowered his head in serious contemplation.
In terms of the pure “structure” of Spiritual Qi, he was not worried about his research progress—after all, the Incense Fire Divine Dao of the Infernal Sulfur plane still awaited his construction.
But when it came to researching the “concept” of Spiritual Qi, Jie Ming admitted he was truly ill-suited to this sort of liberal-arts-like study.
Exchanging ideas with a wizard who studied the Law of Spirituality was undoubtedly a rare opportunity.
Not only would it allow him to examine “Spiritual Qi” from another unique perspective and deepen his understanding of how the concept of “spirituality” manifested in the wizard cosmos, it would also, in turn, accelerate his own mastery over the Spiritual Qi Law.
Knowledge, after all, was always interconnected.
“I understand.” Jie Ming nodded and said to Viola, “I would be delighted to meet this esteemed person. How shall we arrange it? Time and place?”
Seeing Jie Ming agree, Viola’s smile grew even brighter. “Wonderful! As for the location, we’ll go straight to her plane. All the magical-plant samples we cultivated using your Imaginary Element are there—it’ll be convenient for on-site observation and discussion.”
Jie Ming instantly caught the key point in her words. “Her plane?”
To possess and fully control a private plane was in itself a mark of strength and status.
“Yep,” Viola confirmed with a nod. “Like me, she’s a sixth-ring wizard. Because she excels at growing all kinds of exotic magical plants and breeding special organisms, she’s a very well-known top-tier raw-materials supplier in our circles. Incredibly wealthy.”
A sixth-ring wizard specializing in biological cultivation and the Law of Spirituality, owner of a private plane… Jie Ming rapidly weighed the implications.
The other party was far above his own level, but with Senior Sister Viola acting as intermediary, safety should not be a major concern.
Moreover, establishing a connection with such a figure could only be beneficial in the future.
“Very well, I have no objections,” Jie Ming decided. “Shall we set off now?”
“Right now!” Viola replied with her usual decisiveness. “She’s always soaking in her ‘Garden of a Hundred Flowers’ anyway—she has no real sense of time. No need to pick an auspicious hour.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Jie Ming’s Magicnet terminal received an inter-plane teleportation coordination request from Viola.
After confirming the permissions and coordinate safety, he approved it.
The next moment, the teleportation array in the laboratory flared to life, and Viola’s tall figure materialized.
She wore practical dark-green hunting attire today, giving her a valiant and heroic air.
The moment she arrived, she grinned and stretched out her hand. “Junior Brother, before we go, sell me two more tubes of the high-concentration stuff as a ‘meeting gift,’ okay? It’d be rude to show up empty-handed.”
Jie Ming gave a helpless smile but skillfully prepared two tubes of pure, concentrated Spiritual Qi and handed them over, smoothly deducting the corresponding military merits.
Afterward, through his soul contract he briefly instructed the black giant priest commanders on research directions and precautions for the coming period.
“All set? Let’s go!” Seeing everything ready, Viola stepped onto the laboratory’s teleportation array first.
Jie Ming followed close behind.
In a flash of light, the two arrived first at the familiar Noren Academy No. 147.
Without pausing, Viola led Jie Ming through the academy’s internal teleportation zone with practiced ease and stepped into an array capable of long-distance inter-plane travel.
