After all, no leader of an organization could always make the right decisions. When the majority of the group voiced a unified direction, it was often easier to follow, even if reluctantly—that was just the nature of collective leadership.

She herself had failed to steer the academy perfectly at all times, so how could her disciples fare any better?

Still, despite all that, she had always believed—without a shadow of doubt—that their intentions were rooted in goodwill.

They were her disciples, comrades who had survived the harrowing Gate Crisis together.

Though not particularly gifted, they had rolled up their sleeves to rebuild a broken civilization. They had given their all to normalize the world, sparing no effort.

Surely, such individuals would never stoop to something as unthinkable as colluding with the Majin.

The real problem, however, was that this accusation came from none other than Jin Yu-ha—the one person she trusted and relied on most at this moment.

"Jin Yu-ha, do you truly understand the weight of what you're saying? Think carefully and reconsider. Do you wish to retract your words?"

She prayed silently that he would take it back, that he would tell her it was all a lie.

But Jin Yu-ha simply shook his head, his expression unflinching.

“No, I have no intention of doing so.”

“…Are you saying that I—these disciples of mine—were fraternizing with the Majin under my very nose, and I failed to notice it?”
