Despite its name, the interior of the Gate resembled a maze constructed from solid gray stone walls.

The Rage Howlers that inhabited this place were monsters that looked like a cross between apes and monkeys, known for their immense strength, high intelligence, and strong sense of camaraderie.

‘This place used to have quite the notorious reputation.’

It was the perfect hideout for shady individuals.

Rage Howlers often looted equipment from Hunters and, with their intelligence, learned how to wield those weapons.

The older and more experienced a Rage Howler was, the more versatile and precise its attacks became—almost comparable to a Hunter’s skills.

So why was this Gate infamous?

Because the fact that Rage Howlers could use Hunter weapons created a perfect cover for murder.

Hunters could sneak in, kill another Hunter, pin the blame on the Rage Howlers, and walk out of the Gate with the victim’s equipment as if it were loot.

For a time, this dungeon was a favorite hunting ground for scum who specialized in preying on other Hunters—and for Majin operatives.

Yet, despite the dangers, it remained a popular Gate.

Killing Rage Howlers yielded mana stones and often recovered stolen Hunter gear.

Naturally, money-hungry Hunters flocked here, turning it into a chaotic mess of greed, betrayal, and murder.

Hunters set traps, turned on each other for loot, and even specialized Hunters appeared to hunt down the backstabbers.

As casualties mounted and the situation spiraled out of control, the Mage Emperor finally intervened.

She cast a spell over the Gate, imposing a single rule:

【Those who harm humans instead of Rage Howlers shall bear a mark of sin.】

* Any human who attacks another human inside this Gate will have the word Murderer branded above their head.

* Branded individuals will be exempt from the dungeon’s rules.

In other words, the moment you attacked another human, you became an enemy to everyone in the dungeon.

And waiting outside the Gate? Hundreds of Hunters standing by.

Anyone who broke the rule became a glowing golden treasure goblin for others to hunt.
