I Became A Ghost In A Horror Game

Chapter 145: Final Afterword

Author: 패리더리
updatedAt: 2025-07-14

This contains a lot of spoilers about the main story and some silly mistakes.

After a long journey of 3 years (and yet only 140 chapters), it’s finally complete.

I feel that those who have read until the end despite the irregular serialization cycle, my terrible writing skills, and typos are truly amazing…

First, the reason I wrote this story is simply because I really liked the character Mary from the horror game Ib, who appears as an enemy but isn’t entirely hostile.

I also liked her blonde hair… So, I was drawn to horror characters who are hostile but can also be helpers, and that’s how I started writing the first chapter.

I liked Ghost Story Club, so I had quite a few ideas in my head.

Please, 오직재미 (Author of Ghost Story Club), serialize more.

A side note during the writing process.

It was quite messy. Mirror Ghost - Alice’s Devil Evolution was not actually planned from the beginning.

I just kept writing and started to think about the protagonist’s identity.

Horror games can also be called horror amusement.

I thought that helping children defeat horror beings might be a way to help them enjoy horror as a “game”, and it fit well with the Alice material, so I added it.

This was also partly because I wanted to overcome my own inferiority complex? about it being a derivative work of the RPG Maker game Ib in the beginning.

My nickname is 패리더리 (Paerideori), taken from parody, so I don’t know why I thought that.

When you think about it, using fairy tales as material is also a parody.

Alice’s Advent Arc

This was the part where Alice reawakens when she’s in a crisis due to Peter Pan.

This episode reflects my own psychology.

Because I felt like I couldn’t surpass Part 1 no matter what I did.

And it seems like there are people who actually like Part 1 the most.

No matter how much I serialize Part 2, I won’t be able to create anything better than that~ It feels like I’m dragging a corpse~

So it was a time when my motivation was low and I wanted to run away, but it seems like it turned out that way because the psychology of trying to do well was reflected.

The reaction at the end of the episode was good, so that’s great!

About the Ending

Actually, the ending of Ghost was Alice and the kids parting ways again.

Since there were hints about metafiction from the beginning, I thought that the end of the story itself would be the biggest horror Alice had to overcome.

Because of the thought that the end of the story = the end of the world.

But I changed it at the last minute.

Readers didn’t read this to see them break up, right?

I thought it was too arrogant to make the ending a parting just to leave a lingering impression, so I changed the ending.

The reason the identity of the singularity is “judgment on arrogance” is also related to this.

Atrocities committed so far

Translation: "오타에요!", "Wow! Thank you."

Many people found typos and let me know! But

Translation: Typos, "It's annoying after all"

Oops, my hand slipped…

I ended up neglecting the typos.

There are probably still some uncorrected ones.

I’m sorry… I was wrong… If there’s a next time, I won’t do it…

Translation from top to bottom: "Writing the Neverland chapter", Hehe! Tap, Excited! Tap

The next silly mistake was when I was writing the Neverland arc.

Roughly…

When this came out.

I wrote this in the author’s note of that chapter.

That I’m taking a break.

Readers probably thought it was because it would take me a long time to write the next chapter.

But actually…

Translation: "Sigh, I guess it can't be helped.", "I don't have time...", "Next Chapter"

At that time, I already had the next chapter and illustration.

That’s right. I lied.

The reason is absurd.

I wanted to hit a big highlight, make them curious about the next chapter, and then see them whine and react.

That thrill was too sweet.

I’m sorry, I won’t do it again. Maybe…

Do you remember this?

That’s right. It’s the Advent arc of Alice at the end of Part 1.

Since Part 1 ended like this, the worldview expanded tremendously, and there would have been a series of interesting developments.

But my psychology at the time was like this.

Translation: ""If you just go for it, it'll work out somehow!", "Alice's awakening!", "Open the curtains!", "This is good, so I'm logging out for today!"

Except for Little Red Riding Hood, I hadn’t planned any of the tale devils, and I hadn’t clearly planned Mephistopheles’ plan either!

That’s right! I just winged Part 1 and had almost no intention of systematically planning Part 2!

While writing Part 2, I planned things out from time to time and threw in some foreshadowing, but all the tale devil episodes were written by just throwing in foreshadowing and thinking, “It’ll work out somehow~”.

50% of the reason for the slow serialization cycle is the handmade illustrations, and the other 50% is insufficient planning!

It’s also a huge mistake that I went on hiatus because I was too busy with my studies to write… glances away… Ah, whatever.

Ahem.

This is an unreleased illustration.

Enlarged version of the final ending illustration.

Something I was going to use for the Freeman arc but didn’t.

Alice’s corruption and rampage

Pinocchio arc. An illustration I removed because it felt too emotional…

Color drawing from Ella’s era. I gave up because coloring was too difficult.

Jack O’Lantern touching Lewis Carroll’s boobs

And Jack O’Lantern getting beaten up.

And Jack O’Lantern’s sacrifice, which I was going to write but didn’t.

Why didn’t I write it…

With this, I’ll conclude the afterword.

I tried to draw a quick picture to make even the boring afterword of a boring work fun.

Next Work

This is the protagonist for my next work.

I named her Funny.

And the title of the work is “I’m Not a Heinous Criminal.”

However, nothing is clearly decided yet.

It’s just a TS story about a character whose job is a clown who gets possessed into a game world.

It’s about getting locked up in prison for doing something wrong.

Don’t expect too much. There’s really nothing clear yet.

I’m busy with my studies, so I don’t know when it will come out.

Anyway, I’ll end it here.

Bye-bye!

The End

Feels good to finish a work I translated from the start~

As always, if you spot any mistakes, feel free to let me know—and I hope you enjoyed the read!
