CHAPTER 23: CHAPTER 20: GETTING RICH WITH THE POCKET DIMENSION 2
Previously, Jiang Mingyue hadn’t paid attention to the grain, but now that she remembered it, she found it just as she expected.
Whether it was rice, wheat, or others, they were all ripe.
"Are you all waiting for me to harvest it? Can’t you just do it yourselves?"
As soon as she said that, the grain automatically harvested, dried, and processed into rice and flour, all bagged, along with a few bags of white and brown sugar. Potatoes and sweet potatoes were simply bagged directly.
Such powerful spiritual power!
All the grain was gathered into the warehouse, leaving Jiang Mingyue drenched in sweat. She took a hot spring bath and fell asleep quickly. However, with her brother’s bicycle hanging outside, the locals would be up before dawn, and it would be troublesome if someone took it. So, she only slept for two hours and was the first to rise.
Slipping on her shoes, Jiang Mingyue hurried to the Baihua Forest hill to look for the bicycle, as per her cousin’s directions. Besides the bicycle, there were other gifts brought back for her brother and the family, which were likely scattered all over.
Jiang Mingyue searched around, but all the overturned grass was still just green, without any other colors.
Could it have been picked up by someone?
"Are you looking for this?" suddenly came a teenager’s voice, cracking with adolescence.
Only then did Jiang Mingyue see a thin boy hiding behind a rock. He was wearing an oversized adult shirt, looking both empty and ragged. Her brothers’ clothes at home were also torn but had patches, unlike his, which looked like they had been shredded by a pack of wolves.
Nonetheless, the brightness in the boy’s eyes was akin to stars, exceptionally brilliant.
"It should be, but there’s also another bicycle. Have you seen it?"
"They’re all here." The boy seemed a bit shy, but he still gave her a once-over to judge if she was lying.
"That’s it. This belongs to my cousin Jiang Ming’an. He fell off the mountain here last night and is unconscious... Oh, I’m his cousin, Jiang Mingyue, the one who just returned to the village."
The boy was momentarily surprised: So, she was the rumored fake heiress who was supposedly unwilling to return to the village, allegedly threatening to jump into a river to blackmail her city parents, yet was sent back in the end.
The boy thought the rumors were nonsense. The braided-sister in front of him was warm and bright, showing no signs of reluctance.
"Are you from this village too?"
The boy was silent for a moment and nodded: He was from this village, though all alone, having been called a bastard since childhood.
"Thank you. I think this set of clothes suits you quite well, so I’ll give it to you. And this bag of meat buns, thank you very much, little brother."
Jiang Mingyue was preoccupied with her own thoughts, thinking how her original cousin was quite the central air unit, buying a set of clothes and a bunch of food for everyone in the second household. He already gave them his entire salary, probably even selling his kidney to afford it now. No wonder the father and son rarely went home, given the high cost of each visit, along with the loss of earning time.
"No, no, I can’t take it, sister. I..." The boy panted as he chased after her, trying to return the items to Jiang Mingyue.
Jiang Mingyue stopped: "Take it, I have plenty here. It’s not just to thank you for your honesty, but also for your kind heart. You deserve this."
Having said that, Jiang Mingyue rode off on her bicycle.
To be honest, the old-fashioned bike was quite tall and, fortunately, she was tall enough to manage it.
It was absurdly high and unscientific, but it had the advantage of being able to hang plenty of items on the crossbars.
Jiang Mingyue dumped the items into her space and went directly to find Jiang Ming’an.
"Brother, I found your bicycle. And these things too." She said, unloading the items all at once.
Jiang Ming’an: "..." Lucky no one else was around.
"Be careful."
"No one’s here."
"I’m worried you’ll let your guard down. Yueyue, you must always be vigilant about this secret, unlike before."
Jiang Mingyue understood Jiang Ming’an’s concerns and nodded earnestly: "Yes, I’ll listen to brother."
"Since this stuff came over with you, we should manage. It’s safer with you, especially since I have to go back to work once the family matters are settled. Xiao Ran will stay with you then."
"So, aren’t you going to distribute these things?"
Jiang Ming’an looked helplessly at his sister.
Jiang Mingyue surrendered: "Alright, alright, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have provoked you. I’ll handle it myself."
Jiang Ming’an was finally satisfied: Unlike the original good-hearted guy, those people were ungrateful to their main family, yet he was supposed to send them goods? Foolish! His money was meant for Yueyue, just like in the previous life.
After leaving food for Jiang Ming’an and Jiang Ran, Jiang Mingyue headed directly to the brigade.
She asked around, and it was indeed work time. With her unfamiliar face and riding a "BMW" bike, she quickly drew the attention of passers-by.
"Aunty, where can I get an introduction letter?"
"Oh, are you Jiang Family Mingyue?"
Seeing a kindly woman, Jiang Mingyue nodded amicably.
"You’re so pretty! Just like your father. Looking for an introduction letter, eh? Just head that way, turn right at the begonias, and you’ll see a sign saying ’Serve the People.’"
"Thank you, aunty! Do drop by our place for tea sometime."
"Such a sweet talker, I’ll remember that and come when I can."
Suddenly, a discordant voice emerged.
"Ha! Pretending. Your family’s so poor, you can’t even afford your next meal. What tea leaves? Do you still think you’re some city missy?"
Jiang Mingyue squinted: Where did this cockroach come from?
The kindly aunty laughed: "Oh, Beishan! I know your family lacks nothing, but I hear it’s all thanks to your uncle and cousin. Honestly, it’s unreasonable. Why should an uncle and cousin have to support an entire family of their brother’s offspring? And yet this leech has developed a sense of entitlement, isn’t that outrageous?"
Jiang Beishan’s face instantly changed: "You, you’re lying, all that money was earned by my parents through hard work."
So, this was Wu Cuilan’s second daughter.
"Yes, yes, you’re always right." Jiang Mingyue thought if she was the one laughing before, they’d have to cry from now on.
For such brainless girls, Jiang Mingyue had little interest.
"You’ve nothing to do with this."
"You’ve already stepped on my head, and I can’t say a thing? Oh, by the way, I should give you a heads-up. Everyone heard what you just said. I’ll report you immediately for engaging in capitalist practices."
"I didn’t say anything of the sort. Don’t talk nonsense."
Jiang Mingyue couldn’t be bothered with her. Some people just needed a lesson, but she wouldn’t really report her. After all, she was unfamiliar with the village, and if things didn’t hurt or itch in the end, it wouldn’t benefit her. She didn’t like trouble; if a cockroach appeared, she’d deal with it once and for all.
