Xiuxiu had a good impression of Xu Xiuxiu because on the day Xu Xiuxiu moved in, she made an effort to cook some food and meet the neighbors. Although they were not very familiar, Hu Meitao still knew that Song Yuanhuan was a soldier, so she tried knocking on doors as a last resort.

"Sure, as long as you trust me with your child, I will do my best to take good care of Yang Jun." Looking after someone else's child is no small matter, but Hu Meitao was really in a hurry, and Xu Xiuxiu thought that if she could help, she should. Additionally, Yang Jun was especially well-behaved and quiet, which made Xu Xiuxiu confident she could take good care of him.

"Thank you, young lady." Hu Meitao immediately looked relieved.

"Don't worry about it, everyone encounters trouble now and then." Xu Xiuxiu politely shook her head, stretching out her arms with a smile to take Yang Jun from Hu Meitao's arms: "Come, let Auntie hold Junjun, okay?"

"Okay." Yang Jun looked at Xu Xiuxiu, then nodded, his small body moving from Hu Meitao's arms to Xu Xiuxiu's.

"Junjun is such a good boy." Xu Xiuxiu held Yang Jun, feeling his weight for a moment, and then spoke up with praise.

Hu Meitao forced a smile: "Junjun mustn't make troubles for Auntie, okay? You have to be good, and Mommy will come to pick you up in the evening." Hu Meitao instructed, her eyes filled with reluctance as she looked at Yang Jun.

"Mhm, Junjun will be good." Yang Jun was younger than the boy and girl twins, but upon hearing his mother's instructions, he still nodded in agreement.

"Well then, young lady, I need to get to the hospital. Please take care of Junjun for me." Hu Meitao was incredibly anxious, and she looked very worn out.

"Alright, Sister Hu, don't worry too much, and be careful on the road!" Xu Xiuxiu kindly advised, then carried Yang Jun back into the house.

Yang Jun was quite shy. Knowing that his mother had to take care of things and thus couldn't look after him, he tried his best to be well-behaved and obedient. But after all, he was not familiar with Xu Xiuxiu, and as soon as Hu Meitao's figure disappeared and the door closed behind her, his eyes began to redden slightly, his little mouth pouted, and he started to sob, even though he was trying hard to hold it in.

"There, there, don't cry, Junjun! Tell Auntie, have you eaten?" Xu Xiuxiu carried Yang Jun into the living room, noticing his change in mood, and since it was lunchtime, her stomach also started complaining. She then asked Yang Jun if they should prepare lunch together.

"I haven't." Yang Jun stuttered a sob and shook his head. Sure enough, due to her urgency, Hu Meitao hadn't managed to sort out lunch for her child.

"How about Auntie makes you some delicious noodles, and Junjun sits on the couch to watch TV? And maybe try some of Auntie's mung bean cakes to see if they're good, okay?" Xu Xiuxiu walked to the dining table, took a piece of mung bean cake for Yang Jun, and then carried him to the couch.

"Mhm." Perhaps genuinely hungry, Yang Jun obediently took the mung bean cake and started nibbling on it lightly. Seeing that his mood was quickly soothed by the treat, Xu Xiuxiu turned on the TV, tuned it to a cartoon channel for him, and then went into the kitchen to quickly make some noodles for lunch.

Yang Jun was very well-behaved, the extremely well-behaved kind.

Despite Xu Xiuxiu could see that he was both unfamiliar with and afraid of their house, he still sat quietly on the sofa without making a fuss. After finishing a mung bean cake, he just sat obediently watching TV. Occasionally, he'd turn his head to look at Xu Xiuxiu in the kitchen. When the noodles were ready, Xu Xiuxiu served him a small bowl, thinking she'd have to feed him. To her surprise, Yang Jun picked up the small chopsticks and started eating slowly on his own, without needing Xu Xiuxiu to worry at all.

"Are you still eating?" Yang Jun swiftly finished a small bowl of noodles. Even though his little face was greasy, he managed not to make a mess all over the table.

"Junjun is full," Yang Jun shook his head but cast a hopeful glance at the green bean cakes on the table.

"Do you want to eat this?" Xu Xiuxiu asked him with a smile as she casually handed him a piece of green bean cake.

"Thank you, Auntie," Yang Jun said, taking the green bean cake and then slowly began to eat. His polite and well-behaved manner melted Xu Xiuxiu's heart. She had always thought that her three children were well-behaved too, but Little Baby, being pampered, sometimes became picky during meals. Even though Little Baby's pickiness wasn't the same as Song Chengguang's past pickiness, when Xu Xiuxiu compared her to Yang Jun before her eyes, she realized a harsh truth—without comparisons, there would be no hurt.

Her own three wild children were no match for Yang Jun—he really was a role model for all kids!

"Junjun, since you're full, why don't Auntie take you to play with your brother's toys for a while? I'll come and play with you later."

"Okay," Yang Jun nodded, beginning to scoot off the stool. Clearly, he wanted to get down from the table.

Xu Xiuxiu reached out to help him, but Yang Jun stubbornly said with his lips pursed, "Junjun can get down by himself."

"Wow, Junjun is really amazing," Xu Xiuxiu praised spontaneously, staying close but just watching as Yang Jun climbed down from the stool without offering help.

After lunch, Xu Xiuxiu played with Yang Jun for a while. It must have been naptime as Yang Jun dozed off, unbelievably well-behaved. When he awoke in the evening, Xu Xiuxiu straightened his clothes and, seeing that he seemed more alert, spoke, "Junjun, Auntie is going to pick up your brother and sisters from school. Do you want to come with Auntie?" Although Xu Xiuxiu thought Yang Jun might not understand what she was saying, she felt she should still ask.

"Okay," Yang Jun nodded with a babyish voice, his little face still bearing a confused and drowsy expression.

After asking Yang Jun, Xu Xiuxiu took him and left the house. She had planned to carry him to the kindergarten, but Yang Jun insisted on walking. So Xu Xiuxiu held his hand and they slowly made their way to the kindergarten. Soon the school bell rang, signaling the end of classes.

"Mommy, how did you know Little Baby wanted a little brother? Oh, Mommy, you're amazing, Little Baby likes him so much, wu wu, the little brother is so cute!" Little Baby hadn't met Yang Jun yet, and upon coming out, she, all excited, wanted to greet Xu Xiuxiu. But seeing the cute Yang Jun standing next to Xu Xiuxiu, she began dancing with joy.

Xu Xiuxiu's face was instantly covered with lines of dismay as she listened to Little Baby's words.

"This is Yang Jun, the little brother from next door, Auntie Hu's house." Honestly, seeing Little Baby's surprised look, Xu Xiuxiu almost didn't want to burst the bubble by explaining Yang Jun's actual relation, fearing Little Baby would be disappointed, since the little girl had been talking about wanting a little brother for some time now.

"The little brother wasn't born to mommy?" As expected, as soon as Xu Xiuxiu clarified Yang Jun's identity, Little Baby's excited expression froze. She looked at Xu Xiuxiu with an incredulous, heartbroken, and desolate expression.

Enough already!
