Chapter 104: Class Advancement: Omniblade
CHAPTER 104: CLASS ADVANCEMENT: OMNIBLADE
The guild officers still looked shocked as Ethan and Ashley walked out of the room, leaving the place behind.
Ethan occasionally shook his head, confused by how those officers behaved.
Ashley noticed Ethan’s reaction. It was understandable why he responded that way.
After all, Ethan was the former guild leader—the one who once led LionArk to its greatest glory.
Seeing the officers acting with such arrogance naturally made Ethan sad. But that wouldn’t last long.
Ethan might give them a little lesson about how important humility was. It mattered, because LionArk was never meant for arrogant people.
Ashley gently patted Ethan’s shoulder, trying to calm him down by saying she would handle them.
Ethan nodded. The two continued walking along the city’s main street, crowded with other players. Ethan glanced around, paying attention to people’s levels and their guild abbreviations.
Most of the players visiting the city were around level 50, which was actually quite high for players in a big city.
"How many guilds have built their headquarters in the city?" Ethan asked, turning his head.
"After the city leveled up, expansion became available. Many guilds applied to build their bases here."
"However, because of our conflict with Silver Star, we became selective. We screened many guilds, watching their activities to make sure no Silver Star sub-guilds were in the city."
"How did that go?" Ethan asked.
Ashley smiled sweetly, meeting Ethan’s eyes for a brief moment, "Of course, there aren’t any. We handled it well."
Ethan knew Ashley could be trusted. In matters like this, she always knew what to do. It was a good start for her.
Along the way, several people smiled and greeted Ashley warmly. However, they always gave cold looks whenever they saw Ethan.
Ethan sighed. It was undeniable that players with PK status were hated by many.
He didn’t understand why they hated him when he had never done anything bad to them.
It was hatred born from blind prejudice, created by the system itself.
Before long, Ethan and Ashley arrived at the city’s large cathedral. It was bigger than most buildings, though not as grand as the LionArk Guild headquarters.
People were coming in and out of the cathedral. Many weren’t there for class advancement, but to buy purifying potions or enhance boosts.
Ethan and Ashley stepped inside. A nun came to greet them; she had no cursor above her head, meaning she was an NPC.
"Welcome to the Cathedral of Light in Mavelard City. How may I help you?" the nun asked softly.
"We’re here for class advancement," Ashley explained.
"Class advancement. I understand," the nun replied.
The woman in a modest black dress walked up the stairs, asking Ethan and Ashley to follow her. Ethan nodded, glancing around at the people praying.
Many religious players believed that prayer was the best way to find peace. They believed that doing good, praying, and striving were the best ways to survive.
Ethan didn’t completely disagree with them. That might be the best way for them, but everyone had their own perception when it came to religion.
He and Ashley continued walking up the spiral staircase inside the cathedral. The nun explained that the room for class advancement was on the third floor, the highest level of the building.
When the door opened, Ethan and Ashley saw a grand chamber.
There was a circular floor in the middle of the room—where Ethan would choose his advanced class.
A staff member came to welcome them.
Ethan registered himself for class advancement. Everything was free since it was a built-in system feature available to all players.
[Host will begin Class Advancement]
[Only Tier 2 classes related to the host’s basic class will appear]
[Basic Class: Warrior]
[+10 Tier 2 Classes Available]
[+25 Tier 2 Classes Available]
[Tier 2 Class Scan Complete]
Ethan stepped into the center of the circle, where countless Tier 2 class cards floated in the air. He could see them all clearly.
"Seems like you already know how this works, huh?" the male staff asked.
"Yeah," Ethan replied briefly.
Light glowed from the circle floor, and twenty-five Tier 2 class cards appeared, hovering around him. To choose one, Ethan had to grab a card and press it to his forehead.
That would trigger the class advancement process.
Ashley waited outside the circle, watching Ethan choose his new class.
If she were in his position, she would have chosen Knight Templar or Magic Swordsman. But sometimes Ethan had plans no one could ever predict.
"Is there a class with dual swords?" Ethan asked.
"I could recommend Bladedancer," the staff replied.
"I don’t like Bladedancer. I’m not agile," Ethan said.
As he observed the cards, his eyes stopped on one called Omniblade.
He had never heard of it before. It had been two years since he last played Tower of Ascension, and he realized there were many new Tier 2 classes he didn’t recognize.
Omniblade was one of them.
[Class: Omniblade]
[Description: A sword master capable of adapting to all kinds of elements or energy forms, changing their fighting style based on the weapon or element they wield.]
"Changing fighting styles? That sounds interesting," Ethan muttered.
The male staff overheard him and quickly tried to stop him, while Ashley shouted too.
"No, sir! Omniblade is one of the worst class advancements!" the staff warned.
"Ethan, don’t pick that one!" Ashley yelled.
Too late. Ethan had already pressed the Omniblade card to his forehead, changing his class from Warrior to Omniblade.
A surge of energy spread through his body, making him feel refreshed and stronger.
[Congratulations, you have chosen Omniblade for Class Advancement]
[Name: EthanArk]
[Class: Omniblade]
[Level: 62]
The light circle faded. Ashley and the staff looked at Ethan in panic, unsure what to say.
"What?" Ethan asked.
"Omniblade... you actually picked it?" Ashley asked.
"Yeah."
"This is bad," the staff muttered.
"Why?" Ethan asked.
"Omniblade only works well if the user has Epic weapons or higher. And even then, most people fail because the skill sets are too complex—it’s overwhelming."
Ethan smiled. Forget Epic weapons—he had two Legendary ones.
He summoned them before their eyes, showing the Bloodblade Ashura and the Tempest Reaver. Ashley was shocked.
"Y-You have... two legendary swords?" she stammered. Ethan nodded.
He asked about the weapon limit for the Omniblade class. The staff said that Omniblade users could only wield up to three swords, each with a different skill set.
Ethan nodded. He already had two Legendary swords. It would be better if the third one was Legendary as well.
I’ll think about that later. For now, I should start training to adapt to my new class.
