Chapter 82: Event Standings
CHAPTER 82: EVENT STANDINGS
Elle listened to what Ethan said. There were many people in Arco Village who might know something about Uruk City. However, she didn’t know where to start.
Time kept moving forward; doing nothing was the same as wasting it. Now it was 10 a.m., and Elle had at least ten hours to look for the information Ethan needed.
She said goodbye to Ethan, who nodded in response. The door to their room closed again, and Ethan let Elle go to carry out her task—to gather as much information as possible about Uruk City.
If Elle succeeded, it would be an advantage for Ethan. He could enter Uruk City without being detected by the guards.
But if no one knew anything, then Ethan would have no choice but to knock on the city gates.
"Are you not going to help them?" asked Luna. Ethan shook his head.
"Let that be her task. If she wants something from me, she has to do something I want first."
Luna didn’t really understand, but she knew Ethan didn’t want to help Elle.
That meant Ethan and Luna could rest all day in their room, especially since Ethan was tired after endless battles against the guild team leaders.
He had also obtained a large amount of Star Essence from those guild leaders—far more than he had expected to get.
Of course, that meant a lot to Ethan. Maybe Lara and the others were also trying to collect Star Essence in their own way.
Ethan did nothing, not even stepping outside. He had to stay inside the room, waiting until eight o’clock for Elle.
If Elle didn’t return with the information he needed, then Ethan wouldn’t give 3,000 Star Essence to the Star Heaven Guild.
Time passed non-stop. The sun moved slowly from east to west until night arrived, yet there was no sign of Elle coming back.
By seven in the evening, Ethan was sitting with Luna in the common area of their inn room. No one came to visit. It was strange.
Then, at eight, someone knocked softly on the door. Ethan opened it and saw Elle standing there with Helena.
"How did it go?" asked Ethan.
"Sorry, Ethan. We couldn’t find any information about it," replied Elle.
Ethan nodded. It wasn’t Elle’s or Helena’s fault that they couldn’t find the location. It was because of the strict guard from the Big Three Guilds.
Those three were making sure that Uruk City couldn’t be breached by anyone.
"Then I guess we didn’t find any chance," said Ethan.
Just as Ethan was about to close the door, Elle stopped it with her hand. She looked at him with desperate eyes.
"Please, Ethan. We’ll do anything if you agree to give us the Star Essence," begged Elle.
The door suddenly swung open as Elle pushed Ethan’s body back into the room. Luna was shocked, not knowing what they were about to do to him.
Helena took out a pink feather from her inventory. Ethan caught a glimpse of it and immediately pushed Elle away, telling her to stop.
"I’m not interested in what you’re offering," said Ethan firmly, refusing them.
Elle froze at Ethan’s reaction—it was something she hadn’t expected.
She watched as Ethan clearly rejected the pink feather orb that tried to merge into his body.
The pink orb floated back out again. Helena was stunned; it was the first time she had ever seen a man reject a pink feather.
Normally, men would accept it, since a pink feather from a woman was rare.
"I don’t like your way of doing things," said Ethan sharply.
Elle nodded and stepped back toward Helena, whispering that she had no other way to persuade him.
Even though Ethan was her friend, Elle felt certain that he had his own purpose in this event—and giving away 3,000 Star Essence might go against it.
Elle and Helena said goodbye. Ethan stood up from the bed, straightening his clothes. Those women had almost forced him to sleep with them.
The door closed behind them as Elle and Helena left in silence. Luna walked toward the bed, asking if Ethan was all right.
Ethan smiled, raising his hand to pat Luna gently on the head. Clearly, he was telling her he was fine and there was nothing to worry about.
Luna smiled back, though her face still looked a little sad after what she had seen.
Not long after, eight o’clock arrived. The guild team rankings were displayed on every player’s system panel, including Ethan’s.
Through his eyes, Ethan saw that his guild ranking had dropped one spot—to rank 18—because another guild had overtaken them.
However, looking at the rankings between 11th and 17th place, the differences weren’t that big.
Even the guild in 11th place, NavyHunter, only had around 65,000 Star Essence.
For the top 10, the gap between each rank was about 5,000 to 10,000 Star Essence.
Redemption Sword was still first with 245,500 Star Essence. Second was Scavenger with 178,900, and third was Silver Star with 143,800.
[Standings]
[1. Redemption Sword || 245,500 Star Essence]
[2. Scavenger || 178,900 Star Essence]
[3. Silver Star || 143,800 Star Essence]
[4. Golden Spear || 125,000 Star Essence]
[5. Atlantica || 95,200 Star Essence]
[6. Sacred Hall || 92,500 Star Essence]
[7. White Snow || 83,000 Star Essence]
[8. Lion and Wolf || 80,000 Star Essence]
[9. The Light || 77,850 Star Essence]
[10. Heaven Sword || 72,350 Star Essence]
Ethan carefully studied the top 10 list. His total Star Essence was 52,386. If he could enter the city and start a slaughter, Ethan could definitely raise Sword Liberation’s ranking.
But that wasn’t his goal. What he really wanted was to save LionArk from Silver Star’s grasp.
Only by hunting down Silver Star and stealing their Star Essence can I push LionArk into the top 10 and protect it.
If LionArk survives until the event ends, the agreement between Silver Star and LionArk will be void—meaning Ashley won’t have to marry.
From Heaven Sword to Golden Spear... I’ll destroy them all.
I’ll make sure I become the only one in control of this event. I’ll make even Redemption Sword acknowledge my power.
I know what Redemption Sword truly wants.
