CHAPTER 78: CHAPTER 78: SOURCE OF MAGIC

[Hahaha! Marvellous! Marvellous! You are the first person to deal such damage to Death Stinger with such low power, hahaha! So it seems I underestimated you.] said the person in front of Zixin.

[Who are you?] Zixin asked again. As he stabilised himself, he finally took a clear look at the person who just attacked him and was scared shitless.

Standing in front of him wasn’t a man or an ordinary demon, it was both. This person had the upper body of a human and the lower body of a horse with blue black fur. He was extremely muscular with eight pack abs, biceps and triceps. On his stomach, there was a second mouth with a long tongue and sharp teeth. He looked both handsome and terrifying with his horizontally curved horns.

His tail though wasn’t that of a horse but like that of a scorpion with a fork-like tip. He exuded immense power and pressure, making Zixin terrified of him. Zbethr wasn’t enormous but around ten meters in height.

[I am Zbethr, Demon General Zbethr!] When Zbethr announced his name, it was engraved in his mind, ensuring that Zixin would never ever forget it. When Zbethr stared at him, Zixin spat out another mouthful of blood.

[Even though you’ve impressed me with your strength, I must still punish you.] After he said this, Zbethr stomped on Zixin with his hooves, leaving hoof indentations on Zixin’s body and completely crushing his bones.

[ARGHHHHHHH!!!!] Zixin screamed in pain so loudly that all his maggots stopped attacking the Limbs Mountain and rushed to his aid at their greatest speed. In around ten minutes, an ocean of maggots were rushing over with Killing intent.

[Hmph!] Zbethr snorted and all the maggots were obliterated, not even a single drop of blood remained.

[You overestimate yourselves!] said Zbethr as he continued to stomp Zixin until all the bones in his body were turned into powder except for the skull. He had been turned into mush.

[You can’t treat me like this, I’m a Class Ten Noble Demon!] said Zixin.

[It’s because you’re a Class Ten Noble Demon that I’m not killing you! I heard you also have subordinates, come here.] Zbethr then grabbed at air and when he opened his palm, Wan Shui, Tiger, Fatso, Torta and his skeletons, Shilin and Harl were all on his palm.

[You can really choose your subordinates very well. They have potential. I’ll spare their lives but they will join my army in the invasion of the Eden Realms.] said Zbethr and Zixin’s subordinates disappeared.

[You wantonly kill your own kind like you’re slaughtering sheep. Even when they beg for mercy, you don’t spare them and continue with your massacre, why?] asked Zbethr.

[They deserved it! There’s no space for weaklings in this place, only strength!] said Zixin righteously.

[WHY?!] Zbethr asked again while stomping on Zixin even harder. Even though all his bones had been shattered, it was still agonisingly painful.

[To remind myself..! I did it to remind myself! When you’re weak, people just trample on you, bully you, torture you, BEAT YOU TO DEATH! I didn’t want to live such a life again so I became...them. When everyone fears you, who would dare to bully you? I forced myself to become something that I’m not and surprisingly, quickly became that thing. I enjoy bullying others, I love hearing them scream in pain,

I love watching them suffer, I love crushing their hopes and dreams, turning their world upside down, becoming their nightmare, I love all of it. But I don’t just do this for enjoyment, I do it also as a reminder that if I remain weak, it might be me screaming in pain, hahaha... how ironic.] said Zixin with tears in his eyes.

[Spoken like a true demon, no wonder you’re a Noble Demon. But I still won’t spare you. The demons you killed were meant to join the army once the time was right but you killed a quarter of them. Don’t worry, I’m not gonna kill you but where I’m taking you, you might die.]

[Where are you taking me?]

[Congratulations, you’ve earned yourself a ticket to a Peak World. The Nirlrem World of sorcery and magic. I will now suppress your Demon Flames, destroy your cultivation. Demons will recognise you but they will neither help nor go against you even when you order them to. If you want to come back, you shall only do so by sacrificing a Djinn.]

[A Djinn..? What’s that?]

[You’ll find out once you survive long enough to come across such information!] said Zbethr before crushing Zixin’s body then poured energy into his body that destroyed his organs, veins and polluted his bloodline.

A portal then opened where Zbethr stood and on the other side of the portal, Zixin stole a glimpse of what appeared to be...an illusory but infinitely larger tree with engravings on its bark. The tree looked like something completely out of a fantasy story.

[Rejoice because you’re one of the few who’ve glimpsed at the Source Of Magic. What you’re seeing is the Origin of Magic, Ancestral Wondrous Tree Yggdrasol!] said Zbethr with a solemn expression.

[Remember, you can only return here after you’ve slain a Djinn. And by the way, if you’re captured by the aboriginals, better commit suicide otherwise you’ll suffer a fate worse than death.]

[WHAT DO YOU MEAN?]

[How do I put it...they are curious, inquisitive and experimental by nature. Now then, time for you to go and experience a new life in a new world. Good luck!] said Zbethr and before Zixin could speak, Zbethr threw him towards the tree as fast as he could.

[Zbethr...I’LL GET MY REVENGE...I’LL GET MY REVENGE OR DIE TRYING! SO YOU BETTER HOPE THAT I DON’T SURVIVE! PRAY THAT I DIE HERE OTHERWISE...HAHAHA!!!] With all the strength he could muster, Zixin said his last words before he lost consciousness, Zbethr’s energy filling his entire body including his mind. The only thing capable of resisting this foreign and powerful energy was Zixin’s heart as it absorbed the energy, converted it and spread it across Zixin’s body. As for the effects of this, only time would tell.
