I Can Program My Body?
Chapter 180: Genetic Ability?
CHAPTER 180: GENETIC ABILITY?
"You heard the Grand General. Why don’t you team up with us? Don’t worry, I won’t hold your earlier offense against you," Natasha said through gritted teeth.
"We’ll see..." Nash didn’t immediately refuse.
The more he learned about the Cosmic Competition, the more uneasy he felt.
If he weren’t certain three years from now, it wouldn’t be too late to join.
"If you don’t want to join her, why not join our group?"
Turning to the voice behind him, Nash was startled.
How could the high-and-mighty Skylar suddenly speak to him?
Had the earlier commotion caught his attention?
Seeing another Void Venerate trailing behind Skylar like a servant, Nash was even more shocked.
"Skylar! How dare you poach someone I’ve recruited?" Natasha muttered angrily.
"He hasn’t accepted, has he? Why can’t I invite him myself?" Skylar replied calmly.
"You!" Enraged, Natasha wanted to lash out at the kid.
Unfortunately, his guardian, Hobis, quickly stepped forward to shield him.
"Natasha, you can’t touch the young master!" Hobis said coldly.
"Tsk, what a weakling. Unlike this kid, who dared to stand up to me, what are you?" Natasha mocked, glaring at Skylar, hiding behind his guardian.
Unfazed by her taunts, Skylar’s attention remained on Nash, awaiting his response.
"What do you think? If you have any requests, just tell me."
"No need. I’m not ready to join any team yet," Nash said truthfully.
"Is that so? A pity..."
Initially, Skylar thought Nash seemed strong and wanted him on his team.
Nora had also recommended Nash as a great fighter, but now it seemed he was a tough nut to crack.
"If you decide later, let me know. Our team is open anytime," Skylar murmured as he left gracefully, his group trailing behind.
"Tsk, what a pretentious brat!" Natasha clicked her tongue, watching them go.
"Have you fought him before?" Nash asked Camilla.
Feeling eager, if not for the occasion, he wanted to challenge Skylar to test the so-called Star Nova.
"Yes, that guy is really strong!" Camilla sighed.
"Oh? Did you lose? What’s his genetic ability?"
Scanning Skylar, Nash saw that his combat power didn’t seem too strong.
Yet, based on how others treated him, it seemed he could defeat everyone in the room without breaking a sweat.
[Skylar Nova: Tier 1 Void Warrior
Combat Power: 97,000]
Although it was nearly 100,000, higher than most Void Commanders, the people in the room were different.
Most Void Commanders in the seeded talent program had combat power in the millions, some even in the hundreds of millions to billions.
The only thing that could earn him such respect had to be a genetic ability.
"How could I lose? It was merely a tie! As for his genetic ability? It should be time-based..." Camilla muttered, recalling their fight.
In one of their spars, she remembered feeling like a helpless cockroach, relentlessly crushed without pause.
Before Camilla could recover, she was already beaten to pieces.
If not for her immortal phoenix genetic ability, she wouldn’t even be qualified to take a single attack.
"Time-based?" Nash frowned.
"Don’t worry, it’s not as invincible as you think. Skylar can only accelerate or slow his own time, not affect others."
"If the strength difference is large enough, you can suppress him like a sitting duck," Natasha muttered, not taking Skylar too seriously.
"You’re too optimistic," Nash said, speechless.
Accelerating and slowing one’s own time was already overpowered.
As they say, in a fight, speed comes before power.
Furthermore, if Skylar suffered a devastating blow, could he slow the damage he received?
As long as he could outlast his opponent, he’d be an indestructible block.
Facing such an enemy, Nash couldn’t think of a countermeasure.
Perhaps when he awakened his own genetic ability?
At that thought, he couldn’t help but look forward to receiving his rewards.
He shouldn’t be so unlucky as not to awaken a genetic ability.
Even if it was weak, he could amplify it using module systems.
As for the runic space being his inborn genetic ability, Nash had no clue.
The runic space was both too weak and too strong.
Without years to master the runic patterns, commands, and programs, it was just an untouchable projection.
Yet, once thoroughly studied, it could be a weapon to reshape one’s fate with endless possibilities.
Sighing, he ended his conversation with Natasha and the others and took Camilla out on a date.
Having not seen each other for over a month, they deeply missed one another.
---
Wandering through the Virtual World, Nash and Camilla roamed freely, playing to their hearts’ content.
Forgetting everything on their minds, they focused only on each other’s presence and their little world.
As night fell, they collapsed into each other’s arms, as reality snapped back into their mind, leaving them in a daze.
"What’s your plan now? Are you still training, or will you wait until you reach the Nova Capital?" Camilla asked.
"What can I do? I can’t waste any time. Much less on my training, I still have to settle things on Earth before I leave," Nash sighed.
In these three months, he couldn’t afford to waste a moment.
From creating a comprehension module system, deducing a 10,000% saturation soul and void manual, uploading books to the Nova library, and tying up loose ends on Earth.
Nash also couldn’t forget his small team in the Dark Plane.
He had promised they’d hunt again after the Cosmic Competition.
Though he currently didn’t lack merits, he wanted to invite them to be the instructors and protectors for the Earthlings to venture into the Dark Plane.
With their guide, the people of Earth would have an easier time and quickly adapt to the place.
He also couldn’t forget the books in the Spirit Pavilion.
While the Nova Library offered a vast selection of books, the Spirit Pavilion was far more comprehensive.
Besides, since free resources were available, he wouldn’t pass them up.
After all, he hoped to fill the [Memory Module System] with all the books and knowledge of the universe.
Thinking he still required over a thousand spirit points to become a Bearer, he planned to visit the Spirit Pavilion after he finished with the Nova Library.
Deducing a few castrated versions of astral arts, he should be able to quickly fill in the gaps.
Not only that, the books he deduced could also earn him a little money for his hard work.
