I Can Program My Body?
Chapter 38: Mission Complete
CHAPTER 38: MISSION COMPLETE
Holding the enemy in front, Nash activated the [Overclocking Module System], calculating Ferris’ attack pattern.
Derive from the [Overloading Module System] and the [Memory Module System] this new module system could accelerate his perception slowing the world down.
3 times overclocking...
5 times overclocking...
7 times overclocking.
9 times overclocking...
10 times overclocking...
Reaching the limit his body could bear, the world before him seemed to slow down as blood began to drip from his nose.
[10%, 20%, 30%...]
With every second ticking down, the auto-lock of the [Combat Module System] began to load.
[80%, 90%, 100%... Auto-lock complete!] With a cue in his mind, his body tensed, and his finger locked on the trigger.
"Permission to fire, Captain," Nash reminded.
"Damn, hurry up! I’m about to die here!" Camilla complained, seeing Nash still asking for formality.
With permission granted, He activated the [Overloading Module System], increasing his strength 10 times as he fired the B3 sniper rifle four times in an instant.
Meanwhile, bloodied and battered, Camilla smiled, hearing Nash was ready.
After holding off a Void Warrior at 20% saturation rate, Camilla felt her body breaking apart.
"What are you smiling for?!" Ferris asked, feeling a bad premonition.
"I’m smiling at your death..."
As Camilla muttered the words, Ferris saw the bullet coming for him, inching closer and closer.
"Hmph! A mere sniper can’t kill me!"
Brandishing his B1 Gloves, he tried to punch the bullet coming at him.
However, as he deflected the first bullet, he saw two more following behind it.
"A triple-fire sniper? It’s not enough!" Ferris snorted, continuing to deflect and dodge the bullets.
Unfortunately, in his horrified eyes, the hidden fourth bullet passed through his fragile eye.
Thud~
"Mission complete! Awaiting follow-up orders," Nash muttered with a smile.
"Nice one, Nash! You’re as awesome as always!" Hector praised, giving a thumbs-up in his direction.
"How can you kill such a strong Void Warrior with a sniper? Could you teach me, Nash?" Amber muttered, feeling that Nash was invincible.
"Captain, you’re wounded; let me fix you!" Emily hurriedly said, looking at the bloodied Camilla.
"The main target is dead. It’s time to loot the place!" Camilla muttered with a smile as Emily fixed her up.
"Hehe, leave it to us, Captain!"
Initially, they despise this bandit-like behavior.
However, with Nash leading the way and finding Void crystals, high-level potions, advanced Void devices, and more, they couldn’t help but feel jealous.
From then on, they looted their enemies until they were bare, fearing they might miss something valuable.
After killing the remaining Arleans and looting the place, the group couldn’t help but smile.
"Let’s return; staying here any longer would be dangerous," Camilla ordered, not having time to count their loot.
---
A few hours later, they arrived at the Crimson Gang headquarters.
Looking at the other squads and teams who had returned wounded and missing some members, they couldn’t help but be thankful for having a strong captain and teammates.
Seeing Camilla and Nash looking as if they’d just walked out of another training session, the admiration in the others’ eyes intensified.
"Don’t gawk at us too much; it’s uncomfortable," Camilla reminded, knowing what was on their minds.
"We’re just excited to have finished the mission without a scratch, Captain."
"Alright, don’t be too ostentatious. Let’s check our mission points."
Hearing that, they grew excited and walked briskly to register their completed mission.
---
"Squad name?"
"Crimson Phoenix Squad."
"Target?"
"Landon City arleans officials and its mayor, Ferris," Camilla said, sending a picture of their dead targets.
"Good! You finished the mission quite quickly. The Earth Horizon Alliance commends you! The Earth is one step closer to being free because of you!"
Hearing the praise, Hector, Emily, and Amber couldn’t help but feel proud.
"Please tell us how many contribution points we’ve earned," Camilla said, cutting through the needless chatter.
"You earned 1,041 Earth Horizon Alliance Contribution Points."
"Hmm, that’s fine..." Camilla said nonchalantly, taking her squad back to their room while hiding her excitement.
---
In their room, the group finally couldn’t hold back their excitement and laughed maniacally.
"Is the Earth Horizon Alliance too rich? Just for a Void Warrior and a bunch of ordinary people, they gave us this much?" Amber asked, feeling like she was dreaming.
1,041 Contribution Points! This was equivalent to 1,041 Void Crystals—almost twice what they had earned in the past five years.
"It seems the Earth Horizon Alliance is prepared to bleed heavily this time," Nash commented, impressed by their determination and generosity.
Calculating the number of cities in the Atral State, they would have to spend over a million void crystals just issuing rewards.
"Indeed, this is just the first battle. I can’t imagine how much we’ll get from the subsequent missions!" Amber muttered, feeling like money was about to rain.
"Idiot, we could die at any time, and money is still on your mind!" Emily said, pinching Amber.
"I’m just happy with our haul," Amber pouted.
"That’s right. We also got 357 Void Crystals, a bunch of healing potions, and an arsenal with the lowest being C5 grade from Landon City," Hector said, counting their spoils.
"Hahaha, we’re rich! Should we take on more missions? I see some cities are still unclaimed," Amber said excitedly, checking the mission board on her phone.
"We have enough. Now that hundreds of cities have fallen, it will only get more dangerous from here on," Camilla said seriously, not wanting to take more missions.
While they were chatting and counting their spoils, Nash was already browsing the mission exchange panel.
Looking at the different types of virtual access devices, he couldn’t help but feel excited.
From the most advanced, modular ring virtual access device to the cheaper Virtual Helmet, the Earth Horizon Alliance had it all.
"Camilla, what do you think about exchanging for this first?" Nash muttered, pointing at the Virtual Helmet Access Device.
"A Virtual Helmet?"
The cheapest Virtual Helmet costs exactly 1,000 contribution points.
If they saved more, they could buy a high-grade Void potion for Nash to advance to Void Warrior directly.
"I don’t need that Void potion to advance. It would limit my potential," Nash said, understanding Camilla’s thoughts.
What Nash wanted was to advance using an Astral Void Art.
However, he couldn’t access it without a virtual access device.
"Fine. Since you had the most contribution in this mission, we’ll abide by your choice," Camilla sighed, seeing the stubbornness in Nash’s eyes.
