CHAPTER 48: HUNTING A VOID COMMANDER (2)

Soon, the smoke subsided, revealing Myles’ injured and bloodied body.

"He’s injured! Attack!"

Depleting and tearing through his defenses, the directional S-Class bomb brought Myles to his last knee.

Seeing the barrage of attacks, he didn’t dare to face them head-on, turning around as he escaped.

"He’s trying to escape!"

Desperately shooting at Myles, hoping to land the final blow, they disregarded everything and chased after him.

Nash, who was in a sniping position, quickly disassembled his sniper and followed.

Noting they couldn’t catch Myles on foot, they boarded their flying vehicles, frantically pursuing him.

Parking his vehicle far away, Nash could only follow the trail of destruction, like a hunter tracking his prey.

After hours of following the trail, he finally saw the Void Warriors ahead stop.

Sneaking through the terrain, they laid traps strong enough to prevent even a beast from escaping.

Hearing various commands through the intercom, Nash quickly determined Myles’ position.

Finding a good sniping spot, he began to wait.

"Let’s see if I can steal the last kill," Nash thought, loading the precious void bullet at 9% void saturation into his gun.

"I’ll take charge. Be sure to hit him with everything you’ve got," Edward commanded after arranging their positions.

"What about the last kill reward? Do we split it?" one of them asked.

"No, it’s up to our skill and luck," Edward shook his head.

Charging forward, he had confidence in his abilities.

Although the transcendent armor he borrowed was scraped, he still had an S-Class combat suit paired with a matching weapon set.

As the strongest in the team, Harold allowed him to borrow anything from the Alliance inventory.

If not for the lack of time, Edward might have borrowed a few more transcendent weapons and blown Myles up directly.

"Let’s go!"

Satisfied with Edward’s straightforwardness, the team followed him faithfully, dividing into groups to block every possible escape path.

"It’s time..."

Seeing them move, Nash began calibrating his sniper, getting into the most comfortable position possible.

Soon, as they surrounded the area, they charged toward the wounded Myles, aiming to end his life.

"You’re tired of living!" Seeing their persistence, Myles growled in anger, ready to pounce on everyone in sight.

However, with his injured body and depleted energy, he could only hold his rage and keep running.

Bolting forward, he tried to escape while the group fired everything they had at him.

Although Myles had recovered slightly, a few hours weren’t enough to return him to full strength.

"You can’t escape!" Edward grinned, blocking his way.

"Persistent ant! Die!"

Remembering Edward, the one who aggravated his injuries, Myles suddenly went berserk, charging at him regardless of his own life.

Brandishing his S-Class shield and sword, Edward struck the charging Void Commander while protecting himself.

Thud!~

Like being hit by a truck, Edward was sent flying as he saw his attack barely leaving a scratch.

Seeing Edward thrown aside in a single hit, the Void Warriors behind him hesitated, worry flashing across their faces.

If Edward went down, they would be next.

Fortunately, seeing Edward stand up and continue engaging Myles, their fighting spirit reignited, launching even faster attacks.

"Hmph! A Thick-skinned Earthling! I’ll kill you even if it’s the last thing I do!" Filled with rage, Myles gradually forgot about escaping.

"Hah! Not if I kill you first!" Edward smirked.

Edward was a defense-type Void Warrior, tempering his muscles and skin with most of the void energy to withstand extreme attacks.

Even a Void Commander would struggle to kill him.

Coupled with his S-class combat suit and shield, he was confident he could outlast Myles.

Meanwhile, seeing the brawl unfold, Nash quickly activated the [Combat Module System] and [Overclocking Module System].

[Overclocking: 10x]

[Target Lock: 51%]

"Only 50%?" Nash frowned.

Even with 10x [Overclocking] and the void bullet, the odds of killing Myles were still a flip of a coin.

Unsatisfied, Nash studied Myles’ movements, noting any patterns and habits.

Unfortunately, in a chaotic battle where every second counts, he couldn’t make an accurate deduction.

Furthermore, with the [Overclocking Module System] accelerating his thinking, his brain began to heat up, clouding his mind.

Soon, as the battle progressed, Edward changed tactics, dragging Myles around instead of facing him directly.

"Coward! If you’re a man, face me head-on!" Myles roared.

Unfazed by the taunt, Edward remained calm, waiting for the perfect moment.

"Hmph! If that’s how you want to play, then I’m out!"

Regaining his senses, Myles attempted to escape, charging out of the battlefield.

Seeing this, Edward smiled.

As if rehearsed beforehand, multiple explosions erupted across the terrain, slowing and worsening Myles’ condition.

"Damn! Damn! Damn! A bunch of hateful Earthlings!"

"Hahaha! We may be insignificant, but tonight, you’re our meal!" Edward laughed mockingly.

Though he was a ruthless warrior, he was still an Earthling struggling under the oppression of the Arleanian race.

If his predecessors had fought against their powerful ships and warriors with nothing but sheer will, then how could he, with the same power, back down now?

"Ready to die?"

Like a pack of hunters cornering a wounded beast, Edward and the Void Warriors behind him grew more frenzied, disregarding everything as they attacked.

Exhausted from the explosions, Myles’ body was riddled with wounds, as his gazed turned toward those hateful Earthlings before him.

"Hahaha... I never expected that I, a noble Arleanian Void Commander, would die today!" Myles laughed bitterly at the irony, finally giving up on his escape.

Myles thought he had been lucky to survive against other Void Commanders.

Who knew after he escaped he would be hunted by these mere ants he looked down on?

If he knew this would happen, Myles would rather fight those Void Commanders and die gloriously.

"Don’t worry, you won’t be the last. You’re just the beginning," Edward said coldly.

"You wish! Without those families behind you, how could mere savages like you still thrive?"

"Enough talk. It’s time to meet your maker."

Seeing Myles’ vitality rapidly fading, Edward charged forward, brandishing his sword.

What he didn’t know was that, several kilometers away, a sniper had locked onto his target.

[Target Lock: 90%]

"This is enough!"

Unable to wait any longer, Nash activated the [Overloading Module System], bracing for recoil.

[Ready to fire?]

"Fire!"
