The next day, Jack, Seraphina, Octavia, and her handmaid went over to the next town to the premier club.
This club was for nobles to come and spend some time together to gossip and catch up. But, also to brag about oneself.
This was a sophisticated place meant for anyone ranked Baron or higher, businessmen and anyone else who was wealthy to live out their life.
They were in a horse drawn carriage on their way to the premier club.
"Jack, why did you want to come to this club? Surely you have better things to do than gossiping and chatting with people."
’I do, dear sister, but I also have something I want to test on today’s lunch. Here, take a small piece and put it on your tongue.’
"Are you sure this is okay? Isn’t this from that rock you had yesterday?"
Octavia watched Jack yesterday from her window. Seeing how diligent he was making something from a rock, but didn’t understand why.
"Oh my!" Octavia covered her mouth and her cheeks flushed red. "What is this?! There’s a lovely pop and another taste I can’t quite figure out."
’This is called Embersalt, it’s made from Emberstone. I made it yesterday. It took some time, but it was worth it. The taste that you feel on your tongue is salt.’
Salt had yet to be produced in this world. Creating salt gave Jack the chance to enjoy food even more.
’Let’s meet with the chef first and have him taste it. I’ll leave a bottle with him to use for food.’
Octavia went to a small house in the club where women gathered. This was a place where rich women, daughters and handmaids hung out and gossiped.
"Do you like it? Bill got it for me in Draconia. He had business there and saw a beautiful bracelet. It’s made from dragon scales!" One woman said as he showed off her manicured nails and bracelet at the same time.
"Oh my, that’s just lovely. I would love one for myself." A pretty woman said next to her as she fanned herself.
Even as the women laughed and chatted away about who had what, there was no mistake that they were all just trying to show off.
In a different part of the club, Jack had finished talking to the chef after he begged to get some embersalt from him.
"Whose child is that?" A gentleman said.
Another man jabbed him in the stomach. "Are you stupid. Look at his hair and eyes, he’s a Kaiser." A small business man said.
"Nonsense, his first born heir is in a coma. It couldn’t be him." The gentlemen said.
"Boy, who are you here with? Children should not be by themselves in clubs." The gentleman yelled at Jack ashe scowled.
’Hello to you sir. My name is Jack Kaiser. Heir to the Kaiser. I’m not here by myself. I’m with my sister Octavia, but she told me it was customary that the men come here while the women gossip.’
His heart sank, he was just rude to the most powerful family in Elysium besides the King.
The businessman walked past and whispered to him, "told you so."
He cleared his throat and the businessman said, "Young Jack, what brings you here to a social club today."
"Well I just wanted to see more of this world since I haven’t seen enough of the world yet."
Just then the door opened, butlers and handmaids walked through with lunch.
In both the men’s section, and the women’s section. Lunch was served. Immediately everyone’s nostrils flared as they smelled a fragrant smell of deer.
"Is that three horned deer! I’ve never smelt something so fragrant!" Another man said from the corner of the room.
"You’re right it smells so good, why is that?" Another man asked.
In the women’s section, the same reactions were happening.
"Divine, absolutely divine." A viscount said.
He took a bite and was silent for a short moment. "What spice is this! I must know what the chef did!"
Jack was smiling from ear to ear.
As more and more people began to eat, there was only silence in the room. Every bite was savored, and every bite felt like heaven.
"Remarkable" a merchant said with a full belly and a big smile. "Where can I purchase this seasoning? I want my chef to use it!"
’Oh so you like my new product do you?’ Jack said with a grin.
"How much for the recipe? I’ll pay you 20 gold coins.!" The business man said.
"I’ll pay 30!" The viscount said.
"I’ll pay 50 gold coins!" The merchant said.
Jack slowly put his utensils down and answered them all. ’The recipe is not for sale. I have small bottles I’m willing to sell, if you host parties and get word of the new product to everyone you know."
"How much for the small bottle in your hand?" The merchant asked.
’You’re a merchant. Tell me its value. Surely you will see its worth.’
"How long will that bottle last?" The merchant asked again.
’About 3 to 4 weeks. Depending on how many parties you’re hosting.’
"I’ll pay you 3 gold coins for that bottle."
’3 gold coins you say, mhmmm..... I don’t know... is that all the value it has?’
"5 gold coins. Final offer."
’Sure, 5 gold coins it is.’ Jack said with a grin.
"Wait, what about me!"
"Yeah me too!"
"And me!"
Everyone started asking for a bottle. And Jack raised his hand.
’I have enough for everyone. 5 gold coins a piece. Give it 4 weeks and Kaiser Holdings will open.’
"Kaiser Holdings?" Viscount asked in confusion?
’It’s a new company my mother is starting. Where she’ll sell this product among other items that haven’t been released in the market yet. So when you run out, come to Sorne to get more.’
"I will!"
"Me too!"
"Don’t forget about me!"
--
Octavia, Jack, Seraphina, and Octavia’s handmaid had returned to the horse drawn carriage.
"Did everything go well?"
Jack tossed a pouch at her.
’Fairly well, I made 150 gold coins in a day.’
"Jack, that’s a lot of coins for a single day at your age!"
’We’re just getting started, big sister. We have to find more people to work and have the factory mother started finished pronto.’
"The ladies were upset they couldn’t have gotten more of that Embersalt."
’Did you tell them what I told you too?’
"Yes, anyone whose anyone will be in Sorne next month."
