CHAPTER 27: OVER MY DEAD BODY!!

Finn rushed over to Jack. "not bad for a beginner."

The second wyvern landed next tk them only two meters away. It broke the ground beneath its feet, shattering the ground.

This wyvern was larger than the last. It has scars down its left eye from a previous battle.

System, any thoughts on how to deal with these monstrosities?

[Calculating...]

[Use your spear to ground the beast, and then finish it off Thunder Stomp, or use Lightning Steps and Thundershock to weaken it slowly. I would avoid using Branded, as it has a 24 hour cooler down period.]

Jack gripped his spear and charged forward ignoring Finn. The wyvern flexed its wings as it prepared to take off.

’Spear Toss!’ Jack threw his spear and impaled the wyvern’s wing to the ground. It opened its mouth as electricity started to build up.

’Thunder Stomp!’

The ground cracked and split from Jack’s foot to the wyvern. The ground shattered between its feet as the beast prepared to launch an attack.

But, before it could be released a large bolt of thunder shot up from the ground and went straight through the wyvern’s mouth.

Smoke burned where the wound was as the wyvern’s electricity exploded in its mouth. The two bursts of lightning and thunder collided creating a beautiful shower or purple hues.

The shockwave sent Jack back a few feet.

Good to know, other things can affect how much damage it takes. Skills alone don’t determine damage.

Finn didn’t waste any time and charged towards the beast. Flames began swirling around his entire body until he looked like a giant flame.

"Inferno Charge!"

Finn became a walking torch, he crashed into the wyverns’ side.

Snap!

A couple of its ribs shattered from the force. The beast toppled over and roared in pain.

[-2504 HP.]

Before Finn could deliver the finishing blow, the third wyvern dived forward, almost hitting Finn until he rolled out of the way.

’Lightning Steps!’

Jack teleported to the wyvern screaming in pain. He charges both of his palms with electricity and grabbed the wyverns skull.

’Thundershock!’

’Thundershock!’

Using both of his hands he released Thundershock and rattled the wyvern’s brains until they were a pile of goo.

Finn looked up at Jack with newfound found respect. "I didn’t expect you to have such a good battle sense for someone so young."

’Thanks, but let’s talk after we kill the last one.’

Jack rushed off to avoid a blast of electricity then blew the ground apart and scattered dust and stone across the battlefield.

That’s when he saw it. Gunn saw a pendant on Jack’s neck. Jack was moving so fast that the necklace had swung outwards to the side of his head so he could get a better view.

"Well, I’ll be damned." Finn whispered to himself. "You’re not only talented, but a chosen one."

Jack lost his balance on the wet grass and slipped. During this moment of failure, the wyvern charged up a lightning bolt and released it at Jack.

"NO KID!!"

Finn was so busy looking at Jack’s pendant, that he had a moment of relapse and couldn’t predict what was about to happen.

The bolt of lightning released and hit Jack head on.

Instead of pain, Jack felt the lightning inside of his body. He felt lighter and more invigorated.

What is going on???

Finn was caught off guard, but quickly returned to his senses. He kicked the beast down into the ground as it slid into Jack.

"No, he can’t die yet!"

Jack smiled as his eyes began to glow a slight purple color.

’Thunder Stomp!’

’Overcharge!’

Jack stood up from the ground, and stomped on the wyverns face. The ground cracked and the thunder that exploded from the ground was even stronger than anything he had produced before.

Jack crushed the head of the wyvern as his ultimate skill had turned the wyvern to ashes.

"Kid, that pendant you’re wearing, do you know what that is?"

’Yes it’s a blessing from a god."

"Do you know which god though?"

Jack paused for a moment. Trying to decide if he should reveal which god blessed him. He wasn’t sure if releasing that information would be beneficial or harmful to his life.

’Yes, it belonged to the god Draven."

"Draven the Forgotten choose you." Finn grabbed his hair and exhaled hard a couple of times.

’You okay?’ Jack looked confused at this point of the conversation.

"Yes, I’m quite fine. But you wont be. Draven is not a god you should take a deal from lightly."

’And how would you know that?’

Finn chuckled. "Well, that’s because I used to be a chosen one like you. Anyone with knowledge of the god knows who Draven is. People will either want you dead or want you for themselves when they find that out."

Finn pointed to the pendant. "That pendant alone, puts you in a world of danger you aren’t ready for."

’We should keep moving. There are more dragons down by the line of enemies.’

"Agreed. But stay close, who knows when that giant dragon will come down to challenge us."

As if the dragon was summoned by Finn’s word. The two headed dragon moved across the battlefield at a speed that made her look like a blur.

Back at the main battlefield, Alaric could see Jack and Finn. "What!! Why is Finn out!!"

Adrain stepped forward, "I believe that was your wife’s doing."

"I believe only your wife could have released him, my lord." Adrain said as he straightened out his posture.

"Whatever, cover the line. I need to get my son out of here." Alaric shouted as he started to move towards Jack.

Before Alaric could make his way to Jack, he felt a gaze in the back of his head. Something strong was staring directly at him.

The two headed dragon flew faster than any dragon on the field. It landed in between Jack and Alaric.

When the dragon landed, it left a crater 50 feet wide in the ground.

Alaric’s whole body was getting darker as he channeled more dark mana around his body.

The left head spoke to Alaric. Its voice boomed across the battlefield. "Alaric Kaiser. My name is Spiralus. Give me the boy"

The right head added, "do so, and your death will be swift."

Alaric’s response was fast. He released dark mana from his body and the space around them turned black.

"Over my dead body!" Alalric shouted.

Both dragon heads smiled in response. Its razor sharp teeth looked like 1,000 freshly sharpened swords.

"So be it!"

Roar!!

A loud defining roar shook the entire battlefield.
