I Forged the Myth of the Ancient Overlords
Chapter 932 - 932 Do you have one this light
Chapter 932: Do you have one this light? Chapter 932: Do you have one this light? Lu Ban and Cui Siter exchanged a glance. With such a large number of monsters, it wouldn’t make a difference if they still had guns—they wouldn’t stand a chance.
Clang clang clang—
The monsters were tearing at the windows, their fine teeth leaving marks as they attempted to gnaw through the wood. Their sharp teeth screeched against the glass, sounding like nails on a chalkboard.
Cui Siter moved a flower pot to block the door, fully aware that with so many creatures, it was only a matter of time before they breached the entrance.
“Is there a way to the underground parking lot from here?”
Lu Ban asked.
“Where would there be an underground parking lot here?”
Cui Siter gave Lu Ban a look and paused to think, quickly coming to a decision.
“Let’s go to the second floor first. Once these monsters get inside, we can jump out from the window and head straight to the car, then to the dock to find a boat.”
“Let’s call over Red Leaf and the others first.”
Lu Ban wasn’t certain if this plan was truly feasible. Just a moment ago, he saw an overwhelming number of creatures, and for all he knew, there could still be many outside after they descended from the second floor.
But the most important thing now was to gather everyone together, as it was easy for things to go wrong when they were scattered.
He hurried back to the basement storeroom and quickly found Shia and Red Leaf waiting by the door.
“Those monsters are attacking the main door; we’re heading to the second floor,”
Lu Ban said succinctly.
“Monsters?”
Red Leaf appeared very confused, while Shia, without questioning, took the feverishly hot Red Leaf and walked toward the second floor.
As they passed through the hall’s corridor, Shia and Red Leaf saw the white creatures clawing at the windows. Both girls were taken aback—Shia by the sheer number of monsters, and Red Leaf, seeing such ugly and bizarre creatures for the first time, was somewhat dazed.
Bang bang bang—
The shaking of the door was now visible to the naked eye, and the once gapless doors gradually started showing cracks. The sound of them being slammed made one’s heart race, each hit striking terror into everyone’s core.
Cui Siter moved another chair to block the door before hastily climbing up to the second floor.
On the second floor, Lu Ban surveyed the distribution of the monsters. Most of them were gathered at the entrance; there were fewer at the back door. There were also some in the parking lot, but spread out. Cui Siter’s plan did indeed seem possible in theory.
Bang—
Just then, a loud noise came from below.
Clearly, the door had been broken by the creatures, and now one could imagine them flooding into the villa like a dam burst, destroying everything in their path.
Cui Siter opened a window facing the back door.
The height was somewhat challenging for an adult to jump directly from, so he intended for Lu Ban to go first and then catch the others as they followed.
Cui Siter barricaded the room’s door with a chair, seeing that Lu Ban had already climbed onto the window ledge.
Lu Ban leapt, curling his body as he landed. He crouched on the spot for a moment before finally standing up.
“I’m okay; come on down,”
he called out.
There were not many monsters by the back door, but the noise from the hall kept getting louder.
Shia instructed Red Leaf to climb onto the windowsill first.
The skirt-clad girl seemed a bit groggy, barely adjusting her posture before jumping down.
Lu Ban wasn’t sure how to best catch someone to reduce the impact, but Red Leaf was already falling.
Surprisingly, Red Leaf was very light. Her body was burning hot but extremely soft, like a large chunk of cotton candy landing in Lu Ban’s arms.
“Are you really this light?”
Lu Ban asked curiously.
“Stop babbling!”
Red Leaf’s face flushed red at that moment, feeling very uncomfortable being held by Lu Ban and, despite her fever, she quickly wriggled out of his embrace.
Shia gauged the distance. She didn’t rely on Lu Ban, instead landing on the ground like a bird, leading one to wonder if Shia had learned some kind of light body technique like “water floating.”
“I’ve trained in martial arts, maintaining body balance like this is pretty normal,”
Shia explained and then, peering through the window, saw the first floor already overtaken by the monsters, with some probing into the rooms of the second floor. She looked urgently to the windowsill, waiting for Cui Siter to jump down.
But the response she got was another loud noise.
Boom—
The door to the room was smashed open by the monster, and Cui Siter, who had been barring the door to keep the monster out, moved swiftly toward the window with a baton in hand, intending to jump out.
But the monster’s speed was clearly faster than Cui Siter’s.
Additionally, some monsters had climbed out from the window of the adjacent room and were blocking the way on the outer wall.
Cui Siter reached the window and struck the monster in front of him with the baton, causing it to stagger back, while he lifted his leg and stepped onto the windowsill.
Two monsters in front blocked him, grabbing Cui Siter by the shoulder and arm, trying to pull him back in.
Behind him, another monster had grabbed his clothes.
He dove through the window, reckless and forceful like a cannonball.
Lu Ban saw several monsters grabbing Cui Siter, halting his fall mid-air, and then pulling him back toward the room.
“Old Cui!”
Lu Ban called out, looking down, trying to find a stone to help Cui Siter.
“Go.”
Cui Siter shouted back, knowing all too well that the longer these people stayed here, the more likely things would go awry; the most sensible plan now was to leave him behind.
“It’s all like this already, not so bad.”
He muttered to himself.
The next second, Cui Siter was yanked back into the room by a tremendous force.
Shia trembled, hesitating for only a moment before biting her lip and pulling Red Leaf.
“Let’s go.”
Lu Ban took one last look at the windowsill, now truly unsure whether this Cui Siter was real or a fake.
He had just taken a few steps when suddenly, a shadow darted out of the woods to one side.
Lu Ban hurriedly dodged, only to realize that the shadow wasn’t targeting him.
“This is from daylight!”
Shia recognized the shadow, its body entwined with tentacles like seaweed and only a pair of bloodshot eyes visible, a monstrous, inhuman creature that had dragged a tourist into the water, causing him to drown earlier that day!
However, it wasn’t attacking Shia and the others but was instead rushing toward the villa.
More shadows emerged from the forest, joining forces. Although they were fewer in number compared to the white monsters, Lu Ban saw these creatures exert tremendous strength, merely colliding with the white monsters, then extending tentacles to tear them apart. In an instant, pale yellow fluids splattered like blood, staining the villa’s corridors.
“Are they fighting each other?”
Shia asked, puzzled.
Boom—
At the same time, a loud noise came from the second floor of the room. Lu Ban quickly turned around to see Cui Siter tumbling down from the second story, covered in blood, his clothes torn, his skin flayed open, and some wounds so deep that bone was visible.
Plop—
Without any attempt to land gracefully, Cui Siter crashed to the ground, the sound of breaking bones ringing out.
Lu Ban hurriedly helped up Cui Siter.
“Still alive.”
Cui Siter spoke in a weak voice.
More chunks of white monster flesh flew out from the second floor, clearly crushed by the black shadows.
Without lingering, the group quickly reached the parking lot, which was also the scene of a monster massacre, filled with blood and flesh.
Lu Ban helped Cui Siter into the car, seeing Shia start the engine.
Although these black shadows had helped them defeat the white monsters, no one knew whether the shadows were friendly to them; leaving as quickly as possible was the best course of action.
In the back seat, Cui Siter was barely hanging on to life. Lu Ban used a first-aid kit from the car to stop the bleeding, but it was clear that the wounds were beyond what a first-aid kit could handle—soon, infection would be fatal for Cui Siter.
He looked at Lu Ban, gestured with his hand, and beckoned Lu Ban to come closer.
“I have something to confess to you.”
Cui Siter said softly.
