"Well, since Director Huang insists on inviting me, let's make it tomorrow then. Definitely can't do tonight, but tomorrow night."

"Alright, so tomorrow night then. Ah, right, don't mention this to Director Guo, okay?"

"Wait, we're not inviting Director Guo?"

"You don't know, we have a precedent below, and usually, we don't include Director Guo in these kinds of gatherings. After all, with his presence, everybody feels constrained and can't really let loose. So, it's not necessary. Moreover, everyone is already very familiar with Director Guo, so there's no need to get to know him all over again."

"Oh, got it. I understand now."

Ye Chen hesitated for a moment, then seemed to begin to understand why he was so adamant about inviting him – it was probably to win him over.

Once he's been won over, then Ye Chen would become one of Director Huang's people in the future.

It looks like all his previous suspicions were correct: Director Huang has always been forming cliques and alliances and uniting people in the company for his own benefit. Perhaps, this is the biggest stumbling block in the company that the old man mentioned to him before.

Then, the two of them chatted aimlessly about various topics, including inquiring about Ye Chen's past.

What past does Ye Chen have? He simply made things up on the fly now, but he had indeed been through a lot before, which isn't a difficult task for Ye Chen.

"Alright, I'm finished eating. Director Huang, please continue at your leisure; I need to head back to the office now. There are some things I need to familiarize with and deal with."

"Uh-huh, sure, sure, go ahead. Oh, and there's dinner here in the evening, and breakfast if you come by early in the morning. If you're here early, just grab something to eat. Also, breakfast is quite rich, and there are fruits, take some with you. You know, one should always replenish their vitamins in a timely manner, alright?"

Before leaving, Director Huang was still tenderly giving his advice with concern.

Ye Chen walked over and casually picked up an orange, slipping it into his pocket, then left the cafeteria.

"Well, I've only had a brief chat with him, but I don't think there's any major issue with him. Plus, he's easy to communicate with, pretty much like the others before him, so you all don't need to worry."

"Oh, that's good. We were originally thinking he must be someone special since the old man hired him from afar with such a high salary. But it seems that's not quite the case."

"Sigh, but tonight, he's supposedly catching ghosts, so originally I wanted to invite him out for a good gathering tonight. However, today seems impossible, so we've scheduled for tomorrow night."

"What, someone dares? Doesn't he know what has happened before?"

"I'm not very clear on whether he knows or not, but the young calf isn't afraid of the tiger, and he probably won't turn back until he bumps into a few stones. So, it's fine; this matter can be left to him."

"Got it."

"By the way, those financial reports you guys submitted earlier, I've looked them over. Some expenses seem overly high. Take them back and revise them for me. If this keeps up, Director Guo will definitely notice, understand?"

"But, Director Huang, haven't we been doing it like this before? Plus, running those companies below needs funding, especially since the market hasn't been good recently."

"Even if the market is bad and funding is needed, you can't be diverting funds from the office expenses like that; it's too obvious. When there's a shortfall, write me a detailed plan and I'll find a way to source the funds from other projects, alright?"

"Sure, Director Huang, I got it. I'll go back and revise it right away and send it to you as soon as possible."

"New faces mean new practices. Also, he just arrived today, so don't let him know too much, and you all should be more discreet in your actions. I've also noticed that lately, Director Guo seems to be starting to distrust us. Luckily, he still has complete trust in me, so you must be careful with your own conduct."

"Oh, I understand, I understand."

"Another thing, why didn't you guys stand up to greet Director Guo when he came in? If outsiders saw that, it would be too obvious. No matter what, you have to do your job in saving face, understand?"

"Got it, Director Huang."
