Could it be that she followed that Captain Yang to places like KTV?

But Anying is usually a very cautious person, she wouldn't easily engage in such activities.

The more Ye Chen thought about it, the stranger it seemed, so he hurriedly sat up from bed and switched on his phone to find an app.

He remembered Anying had installed this app for him, saying it could be used for real-time positioning to track her phone signal in critical moments.

Once Ye Chen checked the app, he saw a red dot flashing incessantly; after enlarging the map and examining it, he was sure she wasn't in the office but in a private club.

Why on earth would she go there?

Ye Chen started to feel impatient, worrying that Anying might really encounter some danger in the dead of night, and that it would be too late for anything.

So Ye Chen quickly dressed and hurried out of his room.

Passing through the lobby downstairs, he tiptoed carefully, fearing to disturb Lin Yaru's rest.

But as Murphy's law would have it, Lin Yaru opened her door at that moment.

She looked up curiously at Ye Chen.

"What's the matter, going out at this time? Is there something important?"

"I'm not sure if something happened to Anying; she just called me, but the background noise was so loud, like many people together, and I couldn't hear Anying's voice. When I tried calling back, no one answered."

"Where did she go? Wasn't she supposed to be at the office today? How did she end up outside suddenly? Is there something going on?"

"That's why I'm in a rush, thinking of going to check it out. Why are you still awake at this hour? You should get some rest soon, you still have to work early tomorrow, don't you?"

"Okay, I got it. Be careful."

"Don't worry, I'll be fine. I'm heading out now."

After the conversation, Ye Chen hastily left the room.

Following the navigation address, Ye Chen stopped in front of a club after 20 minutes.

It was nearly 2:00 AM by then, but the traffic around the club was still bustling with men and women going in and out.

The positioning from Anying was extremely accurate; he could even see the floor and the room she should be in when he zoomed in on the map.

With all this, Ye Chen could accurately know his current position.

He hurried into the lobby, and was immediately struck by the heavy metal music inside.

Ye Chen never liked such chaotic places; he frowned, now even more puzzled as to why Anying would be here at this time.

According to Anying's positioning, she should be in room 818 on the first floor.

Eventually, Ye Chen rose and headed to the room, but as he approached the door, two men in black suddenly blocked him.

"Stop there, this is a private area, you can't go in without an invitation."

"I'm here looking for someone, I'll be out soon."

"Looking for someone? Many people come here looking for someone. Do you think I'll let you in just because you say you're looking for someone? Please leave, and don't cause any trouble."

Seeing the situation, the security was definitely tight, and it looked like entering was not going to be easy.

Ye Chen peered inside regretfully; there seemed to be around three rooms.

They were guarding those three rooms, indicating they were most likely booked out or exclusive VIP spots.

But without gaining entry, Ye Chen couldn't be sure if Anying was safe or not.

With that thought, Ye Chen knew he could no longer wait.

"Hey brother, let me tell you something."

He gestured mysteriously with his hand, and one of the men in black frowned, not understanding what he was trying to do.

"Spit it out if you've got something to say, and leave quickly if you don't."

The man spoke unfriendly, but Ye Chen remained silent and swiftly jabbed him between the ribs with two fingers.

The man then fell to the ground clutching his chest, wailing in pain.

"Who are you? What are you doing? Are you looking for trouble?"

The other man sensed that something was wrong and hurried over to call for help.

But how could Ye Chen give him that chance? He used the same method on him, leaving him incapacitated on the spot as well.

He dragged the two men to a room, which happened to be dark and empty, and shoved them inside.

Then Ye Chen walked out of the room, acting nonchalant.

He saw that the room across was likely room 818.

He approached and pushed the door open, but even though there were quite a few people inside, he didn't catch sight of Anying.

However, amongst the crowd, he spotted a familiar figure—the company's security captain.

At that instant, Captain Yang stood up from his seat, obviously taken aback by Ye Chen's sudden appearance.

"Mr. Ye, why... why are you here?"

He wondered how it was possible for Ye Chen to be in this place.

"I'm asking you, where's Anying? Where is she right now?"

"Anying? I, I don't know... Anying, I really don't know. Isn't she in the office?"

"Cut the crap, I know she was here just a moment ago, so it's impossible that she's not here. Tell me, where exactly did Anying go?"

"Mr. Ye, are you joking with me? I don't know her that well, and besides, why would you come here if you couldn't find someone?"
